“The 78” + "The Railyard" = the future of the Sox and Fire
I'm concerned that this public review doesn't actually get done and concessions aren't made. The land is already sold, right. This federal administration is running amok with our public assets and this is just a local example of it, I feel.

It's nothing like what has become of Wicker Park, Logan Square, those places along the Milwaukee corridor. More family-oriented. And Chinese. Not as wealthy or yuppy. But home prices are high, crime is basically non-existent and it would hard to see that trend not continuing. Smacking down a big industrial site in place of an entertainment venue wouldn't help. Chinatown is definitely yuppified and spreading out. I live east of the Dan Ryan and I probably would not have even 10 years ago. East-west public transit isn't great but it's not phenomenal on the north side either. Orange and Red lines (and Green, how could I forget Green...it's redundant to me) are pretty easily accessible as well as express buses to take you to the Loop.

Roch Cholowsky Video / Media
Is it just me or does Pipeline rank teenage prospects a lot higher these days than they did, like, a decade ago? I think Made and de Vries are super overrated, maybe Emerson has a 'higher ceiling' (whatever that means) than Roch but a lot can happen in three years.

It's just an odd move if the City is behind it. They've spent so much money since Rahm trying to bougify these areas, now Bridgeport and 'Bronzeville' are gentrifying rapidly and this is the idea? Foolish, a huge waste of limited public funds, annoying to property owners and rent owners, makes it seem like these people hate themselves and their own ideas.

This is a federal government issue and, frankly (unpopular opinion), I've found Dowell to be responsive to the concerns of her constituents. Nicole Lee is an unelected shill though, you're probably right about her. No environmental review is crazy work but I guess that's to be expected considering who's running the EPA.

Do you think Schriff will be back next season?
Guy has no ability to speak without all of the spaghetti falling out of his pocket. Keep him off the airwaves, he has a voice for print.

It's less about moving the Sox and more about a years long construction process to bring a new industrial site. Nobody wants that s%*#. Put it in the Gold Coast, see how they like it. More concerning is how all of this has skirted well-established democratic processes of community review.

Missed time because he's injured. Semantics. You know what I mean, don't be obtuse.

So his decline in both offensive and defensive production after 2 IL stints is just a coincidence?

I think he's playing hurt, right

He literally is on that pace. It's just a division problem, capn.

He's also on pace to be one of the best home run hitters in league history while playing elite defense. Being mad at strikeouts specifically is a complaint that hasn't been relevant for 40 years. Colson's problem is that he doesn't walk as much as we thought he would.

Beni has actually been awesome this year

Won't be me. The potential of a Smith, Schultz, McDougal rotation is huge. Might also be a huge bust, but the Sox would be an actual WS contender.

ABS & Ghost runner
Is there ever a scenario where the home team doesn't choose to pitch and what is their win rate%? ABS is better than I thought it would be but it should be moderated not expanded. Pitches that are "balls" by a millimeter or several shouldn't be overturned. Those are good pitches. Pitches within a certain range can be challenged and overturned while pitches that are called clearly wrong could be automatically overturned. I think ABS in general gives too big an advantage to the batter. I don't think we're going to be seeing high strikes for very much longer. That's probably by design.

8/19 Games
Hope Thorpe gets the call soon. I think he could pitch against Texas

Hock’s only remark was to ask, “He was at the Cubs game with 25 grams of cocaine?”
