  1. Stone is either the ultimate company man, or delusional in his old age, or both. I vote both.
  2. Imagine being a new GM and so many of your trades have already failed that you have to hope and pray that your most recent big trade pans out.
  3. I thought he was more of a 3B as well. Would the same Rule 5 requirements apply to the Sox having to keep him on the roster for long enough to retain his rights?
  4. Remember the old idioms — “The Midas Touch” or “The Golden Touch”? Getz has the exact opposite — “The Stink Finger”.
  5. Getz always assembles the biggest roster of players that no other team wants.
  6. Well, to be fair, Maton and Amaya aren’t Major League Baseball players at all and Robert hasn’t hit like one for a long stretch of at bats.
  7. The same excuse for the life of Getz as Sox GM. The Sox are always rebuilding so they will always be expected to suck. What a genius idea for job security but it only works if your boss is the worst owner in baseball who doesn’t care about winning.
  8. JR and Getz — everything they touch turns to s%*#.
  9. Two of the worst offseasons in a row. Imagine if he was allowed to actually spend real money? He would blow away Hahn’s Benintendi signing. Everything this guy touches turns to s%*#.
  10. Between this injury and Robert being horrible, Getz isn’t getting anything at the trade deadline.
  11. The real question is — will Getz get back a better return for these two relievers than Yhoiker Fajardo and Aaron Combs?
  12. I agree on trying to acquire McKenzie. It’s a no brainer with how many injured starters the Sox have. He’s 27, making just $1.95 million this year, and he’s not eligible for free agency until after 2027. Also, I think the Sox may still have top waiver priority until the last day of this month, if information at the site below is still accurate, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see a team work a trade for him before he gets placed on outright waivers in five days. https://www.purplerow.com/2009/2/19/762532/mlb-transactions-part-thre
  13. And that’s cuz Getz had to jump to sign Slater, his number one priority bat of the offseason. 🤣 Slater and Tauchman signed for a combined $4 million. Hays signed for $5 million. Unfortunately, as Sox GM’s have not figured out over the years — quantity is not better than quality.
  14. I was more getting at Getz choosing the wrong players.
  15. It sure seems like Getz takes back exactly whom the other team wants him to take back in trades.
  16. Not unless they have to chop it off cuz it’s the Dark Ages and Lord Meidroth got gangrene in it.
  17. I doubt yet another injury occurring to the most injury-prone team in all of baseball that’s already also one of the worst teams in baseball is ruining anyone’s day. We all know that this is a shitshow.
  18. The Sox have been tanking for years and still don’t have much to show for it other than a bunch of TJ surgeries.
  19. The guy is barely a bench player and likely in AAA for any other team. Pretty awful.
  20. Who cares about the Orioles? We have a team loaded with crappy players and crappy replacements.
