White Sox win draft lottery, will pick #1 in 2026
Probably by Getz’s request.

I knew something was off. 🤣

Wow, what a slip. LOL. I guess we know who the Sox are drafting.

Chicago White Sox's Offseason FA Signings Trades Megathread
@caulfield12 lost the ban bet. The proof is in the pudding. Fairbanks did not receive over $20 million. He received $13 million. Also, the Sox signed Murakami for $34 million, which is an individual free agent contract above $17.5 million prior to opening day.

Pete Fairbanks?
Closer money, for one year at least…

Agreed. So glad Getz stayed far far away.

Robert Thread: Sox talking to Reds, Mets
I think part of it is that they want the headache that is Robert gone regardless. They have been burned by him too many times. Either way, moving him will free up money.

Knew he was going to get overpaid. $40 million for Murakami after the posting fee is a better gamble for a potential star. O’Hearn is 32 and definitely not that guy.

Munemania: AL Rookie of the Month of May
My son was watching it. A bit disturbing how the main character is always gooning to touch boobies.

Also, why do all three women in that Instagram have hair styles like they are trying to cosplay anime characters? Some weird ass fetishes there apparently.

Robert Thread: Sox talking to Reds, Mets
This is Jerry we are talking about. I’m sure he wanted to know that once he agreed to pick up Robert’s $20 million dollar option and signed off on Getz picking up additional free agents (Murakami, Newcomb) that there was a plan in place to offset that money by dealing Robert (especially before he gets injured again). I doubt they even want to risk an injury to him in ST and there seems to be enough interest (Reds, Mets, Pirates) to make a deal.

Robert Thread: Sox talking to Reds, Mets
I think it’s likely close to happening due to the two most recent signings. Murakami and Newcomb will add $20.5 million to the 2026 payroll. Robert is due $20 million.

Can the this team be competitive in 2026?
They could all struggle just as easily as excel next season.

Munemania: AL Rookie of the Month of May
Haha, you are correct. What kind of stupid statement is this? ”Bolster that with Murakami at first base, assuming he can lock down a primary role there, and at the heart of the lineup and it’ll be look out above.”

Munemania: AL Rookie of the Month of May
He was wondering why we are signing some unknown Japanese guy instead of David Eckstein.

“The 78” is alive and well for the Sox, Bears are 'advancing' Hammond development
Jerry is probably impressed.

The Cardinals are also sending $8 million to the Red Sox in the deal.

Munemania: AL Rookie of the Month of May
Yeah, they were way off on that projection.

I’m guessing Cam Booser couldn’t have been substituted for Fajardo in this trade. 🤦🏻♂️

No more obvious proof that the Red Sox were probably the other finalist for Murakami’s services. That’s a good sign at least.

Maybe. $40 million is a lot of money to the White Sox, not so much money to the Red Sox.
