  1. Wow, what a slip. LOL. I guess we know who the Sox are drafting.
  2. @caulfield12 lost the ban bet. The proof is in the pudding. Fairbanks did not receive over $20 million. He received $13 million. Also, the Sox signed Murakami for $34 million, which is an individual free agent contract above $17.5 million prior to opening day.
  3. Closer money, for one year at least…
  4. In that case, I don’t have a ton of hope that Bleday will hit but he probably makes the most sense because he could move to CF once Robert is traded and Montgomery is ready to take over RF.
  5. No one that the Sox are probably interested in — Bellinger, Bader, Hays. Hays would probably be reasonable moneywise. But if the Sox are targeting Kepler, I’d rather not sign anyone and wait for Montgomery to be ready. Luckily, this is probably a bogus rumor from a nobody.
  6. Kepler has done nothing recently to deserve a 2-year deal. He also turns 33 in February. Yuck.
  7. Agreed. So glad Getz stayed far far away.
  8. I think part of it is that they want the headache that is Robert gone regardless. They have been burned by him too many times. Either way, moving him will free up money.
  9. Knew he was going to get overpaid. $40 million for Murakami after the posting fee is a better gamble for a potential star. O’Hearn is 32 and definitely not that guy.
  10. My son was watching it. A bit disturbing how the main character is always gooning to touch boobies.
  11. Also, why do all three women in that Instagram have hair styles like they are trying to cosplay anime characters? Some weird ass fetishes there apparently.
  12. This is Jerry we are talking about. I’m sure he wanted to know that once he agreed to pick up Robert’s $20 million dollar option and signed off on Getz picking up additional free agents (Murakami, Newcomb) that there was a plan in place to offset that money by dealing Robert (especially before he gets injured again). I doubt they even want to risk an injury to him in ST and there seems to be enough interest (Reds, Mets, Pirates) to make a deal.
  13. I think it’s likely close to happening due to the two most recent signings. Murakami and Newcomb will add $20.5 million to the 2026 payroll. Robert is due $20 million.
  14. They could all struggle just as easily as excel next season.
  15. Haha, you are correct. What kind of stupid statement is this? ”Bolster that with Murakami at first base, assuming he can lock down a primary role there, and at the heart of the lineup and it’ll be look out above.”
  16. He was wondering why we are signing some unknown Japanese guy instead of David Eckstein.
  17. The Cardinals are also sending $8 million to the Red Sox in the deal.
  18. Yeah, they were way off on that projection.
  19. I’m guessing Cam Booser couldn’t have been substituted for Fajardo in this trade. 🤦🏻‍♂️
  20. No more obvious proof that the Red Sox were probably the other finalist for Murakami’s services. That’s a good sign at least.
  21. Yeah, where was his early post saying that Murakami was signing with the Sox? Bartolo’s Bunghole is a waste of typed words.
