  1. Agreed. Do we think Teel could be moving to 1B when Quero is called up? Who is better defensively at catcher — Teel or Quero?
  2. He was literally the latest acquisition and the last man on the roster. Very strange indeed.
  3. When they aren’t playing a man short to save a bit of money.
  4. Imagine a beautiful banner with a starting outfield of Jankowski, Taylor, and Canario.
  5. It’s certainly looking that way. No team, much less an expected uncompetitive team, should be starting Jankowski and Taylor in their corners. That’s just ridiculous.
  6. That’s the key — trying to slip Canario through waivers at a later date if he does struggle. But jeebus, we have Jankowski and Taylor starting games. Canario would have some runway right now. And I bet Canario doesn’t cry when he strikes out.
  7. But you have said numerous times that Canario would be a terrible acquisition because of his strikeout rate. Why do you want to acquire him now? In any case, I doubt you are getting more than Canario for Thaiss in your hypothetical trade.
  8. Impressive… Jankowski — .508 OPS last season / .623 career OPS Taylor — .543 OPS last season / .671 career OPS
  9. Been there, done that — Madrigal, Mendick, Lopez, Fletcher. No thanks to any more little guys.
  10. Yet another time you are putting words in my mouth — I have said numerous times that he could easily bust, but that I think it’s worth seeing what he can do, even if he fails miserably. For cripes’ sakes, Venable has Jankowski and Taylor starting in the corners today. Need I say more?
  11. Was going to say the same thing — Thaiss getting a ton of run. Also, Jankowski and Taylor both starting in the corners. Ridiculous. Grab another outfielder please…
  12. Yes, I physically produce tears because our GM sucks. My last comment on this — if this is normal, why don’t we see more baseball players crying after failing? Probably because they are taught at a young age that…
  13. It doesn’t bother me, but it is pretty embarrassing. Do you also cry when you sometimes fail in your everyday job? I bet most people don’t and they aren’t making $6.5 million.
  14. I think you are expecting way too much for Robert.
  15. The first catch was nicer to see than the HR’s IMO…
  16. Better the Mets than the Dodgers or Yankees, haha.
  17. Meidroth doing well too. A homer and 4 walks already in 15 plate appearances. Only 1 strikeout. Good for a .467 OBP.
  18. What a goof. The common sense reaction would be being pissed off at your own team for not taking advantage of the rules and latest equipment technology to get you more potential run support in your starts.
  19. No, that’s weak. Little leaguers cry when they lose, which is understandable. He’s a grown ass man… or maybe not. Vargas looked depressed last year, which is understandable. He was traded from the Dodgers to the worst team in baseball. But I don’t recall seeing him visibly crying.
  20. Wow, wtf. Dude was crying after being pulled early from a rough start but the score was still 2-1 Tigers in the 2nd inning? And the Dodgers ended up winning. Dude needs to nut up and grow a pair.
  21. Ahhh, I didn’t know that was part of it — the bats being custom. I thought the thick “torpedo” location was standard throughout all the bats. Even more interesting. The Sox just upgraded their Data Analytics department at the end of last year and our manager just heard about these torpedo bats for the first time this weekend, so we should see these torpedo bats maybe in a year or two? 🤣
  22. I do wonder if this new torpedo bat design will cause more foul balls if you miss the sweet spot, as opposed to a standard bat that has the same diameter throughout the head of the bat, which could have resulted in more fair base hits if missing the sweet spot, due to the uneven bat head?
  23. Well, there’s a big different in paying Moncada $5 million for this season like the Angels and $24 million for the 2024 season along with a $5 million buyout just to make him leave.
