I’m not buying Gavin’s early hot streak. He finished last April with somewhere around an .860 OPS and obviously we know how he finished. But yeah, I bet both dudes would absolutely rake overseas.
They don’t. My son is on T-Mobile and I am on Xfinity Mobile for cell service and in different houses and he signs me up for it every year using my MLB.com account.
Still not a fan of some of Venable’a lineup choices, not that he has a bunch of great players to pick from. But the offense looks like they could continue to do what they have already done in the first 4 games — be completely boom or bust.
The team definitely looks much better than last year, but we will have to see how they fare against better competition. The Angels aren’t a good team and the Twins look like they could be the stinker of the AL Central.
Couldn’t give up cash considerations for the guy, even though they just got some from trading Eder earlier today. Those can only go one way — into Jerry’s wallet. 🤣
Also funny is that the Pirates have a better outfield than the Sox and thought Canario was still worth adding. A bad team looking to improve. Go figure…
He’ll probably play some LF along with old friend Tommy Pham.
I believe we are still waiting to see if the Sox can draft, acquire, and/or develop an MLB hitter with a .786 OPS. We already know Vaughn couldn’t do it.
Yes, he’s no great shakes but he’s better than cash considerations.
In any case, the Mets are taking this down to the wire. But I would think that if a team was interested in trading for him, they would’ve done it by now. If he isn’t traded and makes it to waivers tomorrow, the Sox have first waiver claim priority.
Where did you see this news? I haven’t seen that yet. As far as I know, the Mets have one more day to trade him before he hits a 48 hour waiver period.
Yet another Getz acquisition that no other team wanted to claim, all in only a year from Getz acquiring them…
Zach DeLoach
Steven Wilson
Dominic Fletcher
Didn’t Getz do pretty much the same thing last offseason — acquire a bunch of veterans that blocked young guys? One could argue that it made more sense last year because prospects weren’t ready yet, but this looks like a continuation of last year — old vets playing over young guys.
Unfortunately, managers also play favorites with their guys, even when the entire rest of the world knows that their favorites should be “last man on the bench” type players rather than starting games…
