Agreed. You aren’t getting much of value back to where it would really be worth it to trade Grichuk and you obviously can’t rely on Hays and Pereira to stay healthy even when they eventually return.

Ronican / Ronstile.

Sacrifices must be made. Take one for the team, Harry Potter.

Yes, I have and I have no idea how you can call the guy a plus major league hitter right now.

He had a medical incident with his magic wand.

Hicks isn’t getting you anything. He’s owed too much money and has a 1.66 WHIP. Maybe he was worth Sandlin but no team is taking him on at $12 million for next season. I’d definitely be open to trade Gonzalez and Meidroth, as I wouldn’t mind seeing Antonacci moved to 2B since he has more OBP and power potential than Meidroth, but I doubt they would net much. Meidroth looks like a good backup utility infielder. Jacob Gonzalez looks like an infielder that had one hot half season at AAA. Unfortunately, other teams aren’t stupid…

I disagree. Not at 33. We’d be paying for current performance as he hits the wall. I can’t imagine him not going to free agency. Although in hindsight, this would have been a better idea than giving Ser Loser $20 million guaranteed.

“The 78” is alive and well for the Sox, Bears are 'advancing' Hammond development
Forgot about that thing. It did earn a Wikipedia page though… https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago_Spire

Another day, another double and a BB. .930 OPS. 5.8 fWAR nearing the All-Star break. Insanity.

I’m jealous. I’m going to mention PCA even more now to get on your prestigious list.

Agreed. No one expected this so it’s a nice treat but I doubt anyone thinks this team will go deep into the playoffs if they make it. Their rotation is weak but they can’t mortgage the future for a chance to chase an unrealistic WS this year.

Exactly. Without even looking at teams outside of Chicago, we have two teams here that are in the running for the postseason and are absolutely desperate for starting pitching. Starting pitching is going to be expensive as hell this trade deadline.

Exactly. Hagen Smith is walking 6.23 batters per 9 innings in AAA. Anyone want to see how many batters he would walk in the majors right now? Dude would get his s%*# pushed in. I wouldn’t make that proposed trade but Hagen Smith wouldn’t be an improvement to the rotation this season like Detmers would be. Afterall, we are already seeing the rookie struggles with Noah Schultz

Wishful thinking. Some team will offer more than a post-hype no bat utility man with no options left nearing 25 years old for Webb. Regardless, I don’t even think the Sox will be interested in Webb due to the money remaining on his deal. They aren’t paying Webb more money for the next 2+ years than they did for Murakami. Remember, Jerry still owns the team over the next 2 years. If they acquire a starter, it will be a much cheaper guy than Webb.

It’s gonna suck if they take the wrong guy. I honestly don’t see the Sox taking Emerson over Roch with where the team is currently at, but Lackey being a better player than Roch would be brutal. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/49310240/white-sox-say-3-candidates-no-1-pick-mlb-amateur-draft
