It’s a bonus when Schriffen misses games. 🤣 -

BR TV has actually televised every game of the season, outside of Marquee Network picking up two of their games. They have even broadcast freshman and sophomore games. Mount Carmel’s YouTube channel and presentation is pretty amazing with replays, etc. and they will be streaming the Loyola @ Mount Carmel game tomorrow at 4:30 PM. -
That was so nasty. 🤢

My son apparently went to the WWE school of acting. That helmet slap by the defender was ruthless… https://streamable.com/p08zcc -

BR blowing out Jefferson at halftime. It’s raining on the south side. Put in the entire bench for the second half. -

Tim Elko undergoes ACL surgery, expected to miss eight months

No one is Meadicore, except to Getzie who either he or his team thought was worth acquiring. Brutal. -
The Worst Owner in Sports? The case for Jerry Reinsdorf

I don’t know if it would have changed things as far as a WS, but just imagine one of Machado or Harper and Wheeler over Keuchel. 😢 -

I think a lot of people wanted Elko called up cuz Vaughn was so bad. Not sure the majority of people who wanted him called up thought he would break out. It was basically, we suck at 1B as it is, may as well give Elko a shot. That’s how I remember it at least. I could be wrong. -

Yes. Did you watch him play for the Sox back in the 1930’s? Maybe your grandson will own the pizza joint one day. -

I guess I just don’t see a legit 1B prospect in the Sox org anywhere unless they go after one in a future draft. My guess is that they will just shift a current player there, which won’t be good enough either. -

Wolkow was worth a shot but it’s fairly obvious that the dude is never sniffing the majors. -

Mr. Kreevich, your grandson can still be an amazing car salesman one day soon, but major league regular is not in his future. -
I wouldn’t either. Just saying I think his spot in the rotation is locked up.

Where are we getting MASSIVE POWER from the 1B/DH spot now?!? What would Andrew Vaughn cost to reacquire from the Brewers? -
His third team of the season already…

The Worst Owner in Sports? The case for Jerry Reinsdorf
WhiteSox2023 replied to Kyyle23's topic in Pale Hose Talk
How are we even debating whether or not the Reinsdorf era is the darkest and most pathetic years for the team, outside of a single WS in 44 years? Jerry’s ownership is as much of a s%*# stain on this franchise as the Black Sox scandal. He chose money over a WS contender in 1994. The “White Flag” trade. He squandered some of the best offensive lineups in team history in the 90’s by not supplementing them with enough pitching. He is the owner of only one of two teams that has never given out a $100 million dollar contract. He has been a terrible owner and I couldn’t even fathom Ishbia or anyone else being worse. -
I don’t know if anyone already posted this from a month ago and I’m not saying any team would have taken Maye over Williams with the #1 pick, but this sure didn’t age well. I just heard some sports radio guys talking about it, along with the strange timing to give Poles an extension. “Bears GM Mocked Drake Maye’s Game Film In Pre-Draft Process, New Report Says” Taking Loveland over Warren is still way worse IMO.

And he’s only 67. Wrestling sure takes its toll. My dad is 80 and still mows and weed-wacks his own lawn every week. He also just removed an old glass block window and installed a new one last week. I only helped him position the new one. -
Sadly, not caring about depth has been a White Sox game for years. Hell, how often would they play a man short to avoid calling a player up and save a few bucks? And as well as they did in the Rule 5 last year, there’s no way you can count on those guys.
-
The cheap White Sox aren’t going to give up on Burke in the rotation. I would say he’s probably a lock if he stays healthy through ST. They will probably sign one veteran starter for around $5 million and sign multiple cheap options for next to nothing to compete with guys like Cannon and Gomez for the backend. The rotation is going to look like a rotation that bad teams have.
-
Finding a decent veteran starter for $5 million will be another fun roll of the dice. Relying on Gomez? I don’t see how that is even the rotation of a .500 team. Also, while some guys will continue to develop, other guys will no doubt experience a sophomore slump.
