  1. Wait until the end of the season. He’s bringing his numbers back up to last year’s.
  2. Remember when some posters were so sure that the Sox would spend in free agency with how much money was coming off the books via departures? Oops…
  3. And what if he doesn’t get back his fastball to top off at 93 MPH after the eventual TJ surgery?
  4. The Score guys hypothesized that this is why they didn’t have all the moves listed in the initial press release that Grifol was fired. They thought the Sox weren’t sure who the interim manager would be. They guessed that the Sox initially asked Montoyo to be the interim manager but he either turned it down or asked for more money to take on a team that could set the record for worse season record, which is why they pivoted to Sizemore.
  5. LOL, what have the Sox gotten right in ages? How could you possibly be surprised by this current reaction? Getz is now selling the fact that he will likely acquire a manager from outside of the Sox organization. This is hilarious considering HIS CURRENT ROLE AS GM should have been filled from someone outside of the Sox organization! I guess the Sox were a year too late on this hiring from outside strategy, as we might actually have a competent GM right now rather than an unqualified loyal to Jerry lap dog. His offseason was a failure. His trade deadline was a failure. His entire season was a failure, and he may set the season record for futility. And here you are, mocking anyone who doubts and questions this absolute failure of a GM. Amazing.
  6. The Sox traded for a bust player without a position with their third best trade chip on the advice of a coach they just fired. This organization is dysfunctional and needs to be cleaned out entirely.
  7. He dressed down due to his nerves. Take a look at how much Getz is sweating in that video, while spouting out all of that BS. Now he may need up to 5 years to figure out the roster.
  8. LOL, this team is ridiculous. Yes, this may be the right strategy FINALLY, but there is no hard and fast rule that a good manager has to have worked/played for the Sox, or now has to have worked/played for a team other than the Sox. JR and Getz are an absolute joke. They may as well use a Ouija Board to select the next manager.
  9. I thought one of the big plusses to hiring Getz as the new GM was because he could assess the problems with the team quickly? Now he is saying it takes a thorough process and may take up to 5 years of work?
  10. So the Sox fired the guy who recommended trading for Vargas, rather than taking the good Twins 2B/CF prospect? Astonishingly stupid. But I guess this is the same org that let Hahn and Kenny run last year’s trade deadline, only to fire them both less than a month later.
  11. The right thing to do — “We will perform a long process of interviews with all of the best available candidates at the end of the season.” Oh wait, no. We already know who our guy is. This organization is such a freaking joke.
  12. It is a bit strange. A team typically has a plan to fire their manager and also makes the decision on who will be the interim manager before they announce it. This should have been thought up and decided weeks in advance.
  13. The Score is already ripping the Sox on how they didn’t even announce an interim manager in the “Grifol dismissed” press release.
  14. Let’s all listen to Getz describe his ideal manager, just like Hahn once did, and then watch Reinsdorf overthrow his decision and pick his own guy. That was fun.
  15. Let’s be honest. This doesn’t move the needle much either way. The team still sucks, as do Reinsdorf and Getz. Do you think the team is now suddenly going to be good because Grifol is gone?
  16. Exactly. Just take a look at the recent front office departures and basically any manager since Ozzie. The Sox were their last stop in the MLB.
  17. It’s the White Sox. They made this move already knowing who they will hire as the next manager. The Sox don’t do the whole “interview process.”
