  1. Vargas blows. Getz couldn’t pick the right player if he could see the future. He’s that terrible of a GM.
  2. This is simply amazing.
  3. Getz essentially burned $24 million in a fire pit this past offseason. That’s pretty much Bryce Harper’s annual salary. Brebbia - $5.5 million Maldonado - $4.5 million Lopez - $ 4.3 million Soroka - $3 million Clevinger - $3 million Hill - $1.8 million Flexen - $1.75 million
  4. Burger will soon be back over an .800 OPS after starting the season horribly.
  5. He wasted $5.5 million on Brebbia alone, and then failed to trade him. Getz is terrible.
  6. I’m rooting for history, both the modern andbl the deadball era records.
  7. Exactly. I said since he the beginning of the season when he had a .800 to .900 OPS, would fall back to his norms. Some people even thought he would have trade value, lol. He’s a DFA candidate.
  8. Maybe, maybe not. Either way, the Cease return wasn’t looking that hot before this injury.
  9. Kjerstad was already putting up a .790 OPS.
  10. Yep, sorry, typo. I had Berroa on the mind because he was just called up.
  11. I believe fathom was also referring to Thorpe’s bad past two starts and Zavala and Berroa also disappointing in the minors.
  12. This team is cursed. Good thing Getz acquired 24 year old Vargas with 5 years of control rather than a promising prospect with full control like the Twins offer and choosing when to call up said prospect. Instead, even if Vargas pans out, he will be wasting service time while Thorpe is healing from his inevitable upcoming TJ surgery.
  13. Claimed due to Thorpe likely needing TJ surgery soon. ?
  14. At least Hahn’s flier acquisitions made some sense. This guy has been absolutely putrid in the minors and majors.
  15. I saw this on Facebook. How does a “major league” organization do something like this?
  16. Yes. “May earn additional $1.5M in performance bonuses”
  17. True, but I think most teams realize Pham is too old and his glove isn’t good enough to be playing CF and RF except in a pinch. He’s negative fWAR across the board.
  18. Well, if that’s true I’m glad he was retained.
  19. Pretty sad return for two former top prospects that were acquired for Sale and Quintana. Oh well. It is what it is.
  20. I’m not sure I’m buying it. If they waited this long to fire Grifol, what’s a couple more months and 40 more losses matter? ?
  21. Getz tried to rush them back for the trade deadline. Fail.
  22. Orioles refused to part with Coby Mayo and now they are calling him up…
  23. Jesus, I realize that the Sox called Eloy back up too early while he was still hurt to try to get some sort of trade value out of him prior to the deadline, but how long does it take this walking disease to heal?
