  1. Damn, would suck to miss out on another Gavin Sheets! 😉
  2. “Can confirm” 🤣🤣🤣
  3. He makes the payroll, he hires the GM, he also hires the manager sometimes. He is the reason a new GM and manager can’t start fresh with their own staff. If it isn’t mostly on JR, who is to blame?
  4. Man, I was just thinking about him during the past season as he called into the Sox postgame with Frank, Ozzie, and Chuck. He definitely didn’t sound great. Very tired. RIP.
  5. Rick Hahn didn’t intend to trade a superstar for the corpse of James Shields either, but it can happen. Unfortunately, it’s usually from better GM’s than whom the Sox have in place that are making these deals.
  6. Agreed. I wouldn’t bet on one of those guys to have a good season. Not even Robert due to last season and his propensity for injuries. The Sox lineup is mostly composed of AAAA quality scrubs and borderline major leaguers at best. Steamer is apparently a steaming pile of poop.
  7. I think teams are going to wait to see how Robert performs in the first half of next season before making any decent offer for him. If he’s 2023 Robert, teams will want to pay for him. If he’s 2024 Robert, no one will want to pay for him. 25:$15M, 26:$20M club option ($2M buyout). 27:$20M club option ($2M buyout)
  8. ✅ Continue to beg for a new ballpark funded by taxpayers. And that should about cover it for the next 5 years.
  9. At least Bowden put some thought into a trade offer including players that would be expendable to the Red Sox that they could replace internally while getting younger — Anthony replaces Abreu, Devers moves to 1B to replace Casas, and Teel replaces Wong. But it doesn’t help the White Sox all that much to not get back players with a full 6 years of control… Abreu — 5 years of control remaining Casas — 4 years of control remaining Wong — 4 years of control remaining
  10. You are right, and it sucks, but this is the way any GM would have to run a team when the owner doesn’t want to give any one player a large contract.
  11. Just one team would offer two top 100 prospects? I find that hard to believe. If you said two top 50 prospects, I could get onboard with that.
  12. Great post… Embarrassing. Manfraud recycled an idea from some radio tool that he initially said was a waste of time.
  13. “Your Chicago White Sox… serving you up a big s%*# sandwich and telling you it’s great for years!”
  14. Haha, I know you already said as much but trading Burger for Eder and then Eder for Rice is so very White Sox.
  15. Exactly, and I will never understand this concept other than the belief that facing a bunch of lefties in a row gets an opponent “used to” facing lefties so they hit better against them. Regardless of the handedness of the rest of your rotation, would you rather have Crochet as a member of your rotation or what would more than likely be a less talented right-hander?
  16. Rinse and repeat annually.
  17. Uncle Baby Billy is spot on here.
  18. Mayo had 46 plate appearances last year. Vargas had 237 plate appearances last year with the Dodgers and the Sox, and 591 in his career to show he’s bad.
  19. White Sox signed INF Nick Maton to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training. Getzy is on a roll.
  20. Who would the Sox go-to “Golden at bat” hitter even be once Luis Robert is traded? Imagine Andrew Vaughn getting even more at bats in key situations?
  21. This is so lame and gimmicky. Let’s not turn baseball into a cross between American Gladiators and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.
  22. Why not? Eder is a just a throw-in. He’s terrible with a career minor league ERA over 5. Meanwhile, the Sox would be getting back a top MLB CF prospect for Robert. The only ones not accepting that deal are the Yankees.
  23. Good question. The Sox have just as much of a problem “cleaning house” as the Bears do and it usually screws over both teams.
  24. This was the proposed trade and I would’ve accepted it yesterday…
  25. We already know it will mostly be a losing fate. Getz won’t be signing anyone of note.
