Agreed. I wouldn’t bet on one of those guys to have a good season. Not even Robert due to last season and his propensity for injuries. The Sox lineup is mostly composed of AAAA quality scrubs and borderline major leaguers at best. Steamer is apparently a steaming pile of poop.

I think teams are going to wait to see how Robert performs in the first half of next season before making any decent offer for him. If he’s 2023 Robert, teams will want to pay for him. At least Bowden put some thought into a trade offer including players that would be expendable to the Red Sox that they could replace internally while getting younger — Anthony replaces Abreu, Devers moves to 1B to replace Casas, and Teel replaces Wong. But it doesn’t help the White Sox all that much to not get back players with a full 6 years of control… Abreu — 5 years of control remaining Casas — 4 years of control remaining Wong — 4 years of control remaining

You are right, and it sucks, but this is the way any GM would have to run a team when the owner doesn’t want to give any one player a large contract.

Just one team would offer two top 100 prospects? I find that hard to believe. If you said two top 50 prospects, I could get onboard with that.

Exactly, and I will never understand this concept other than the belief that facing a bunch of lefties in a row gets an opponent “used to” facing lefties so they hit better against them. Regardless of the handedness of the rest of your rotation, would you rather have Crochet as a member of your rotation or what would more than likely be a less talented right-hander?

Why not? Eder is a just a throw-in. He’s terrible with a career minor league ERA over 5. Meanwhile, the Sox would be getting back a top MLB CF prospect for Robert. The only ones not accepting that deal are the Yankees.

Good question. The Sox have just as much of a problem “cleaning house” as the Bears do and it usually screws over both teams.
