QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 20, 2015 -> 02:58 PM) Remember when I told you all that Conor Gillaspie sucks? Way to argue with me. Next thing you know, people will say they need more than Yasiel Puig back for Jose Quintana or something moronic like that. conor sucks.....yet how do you explain, last yr a hitting avg of 280 +/- when some players can't hit their weight.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 20, 2015 -> 04:02 PM) The problem is what young players in Charlotte/Birmingham merited playing time at the big league level...? You would have had Trayce Thompson in LF or Shuck, maybe Erik Johnson or Beck in the rotation, Saladino/Leury instead of Beckham and Bonifacio...Kevan Smith instead of Soto, etc. don't get me wrong, you do make a point in what you are saying, but i am of the opinion that Hahn would have been able to make some trades. trades that might have address those needs. i don't know, all this is an assumption and i am very guilty of that. who would really know what was and is going on in the sox fo, esp now with how things are being manage.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 20, 2015 -> 01:53 PM) Rick Hahn worked for the White Sox for a long time before taking the GM role. If he couldn't figure out how involved Kenny would be on a day to day basis before that point, the man is an idiot. yeah that is soooo true. great point.... i really wonder how that division of work is done in the sox FO

Why Micah Johnson should not be moved to the outfield

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 20, 2015 -> 01:47 PM) One of the key points in the article is that he's got a weak arm. And bad footwork. Does that sounds like a 3B to you? ooo snarky. -
QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 20, 2015 -> 02:25 PM) You're right, but for most of us, stats are all we've got to go on. and you are 100% correct, b/c i would do it as well. i am very guilty of that, that is why i need to ask those other annoying questions so i can get the big picture..... that kind of pitcher maybe somebody knows.
-
QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jul 20, 2015 -> 01:57 PM) I doubt he "just figured something out", but I guess you never know. I was just pointing out that he seems like he's been on a tear lately. i guess i didn't understand the point being made. i would naturally assume that it was in, i don't know, maybe in connection of bringing him up as a trial.... considering how horrible the major team is doing.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 20, 2015 -> 12:49 PM) I dunno, from everything I have read about PF it seems like an athlete would rather deal with an oblique i have that as a recurring aliment.... it hurts like a dickens. i had to buy special shoes to help.... expensive. that is just so i can walk. can you imagine an athlete who stops and pivot ..... now imagine running.

QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 20, 2015 -> 12:44 PM) To be fair the sox also give up Putnam who has been pretty dominant in the pen. but teams like tor, hou in the AL league, when was the last time they made the playoff. for me, i think it is to show fans, season ticket holders that they are for real and look at the over all play of the other teams. just maybe, they feel that if they make the playoff, they can have a special run. i am sure, some team would pay the devil to make that happen.

Why Micah Johnson should not be moved to the outfield

QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 20, 2015 -> 02:18 PM) I'm not sure he doesn't beat it if he isn't average. Pitchers/Cooper don't like it, but do they like 2 runs scored a game? They need to find a spot for him i problem i really see in this is, the sox this yr started abysmally..... so everything that may not have mattered really affected everyone and on top of that, it was magnified. now, get a team hitting like the sox are capable of, for this example, last yr hitting, and then the powers to be will be ok with his defense. that is my opinion. -
QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jul 20, 2015 -> 01:42 PM) Kennyn Walker's had quite the last 10-12 games or so. He must have raised his BA 50-60 points. He still appears to be a bust but it seems like he's had multiple hits almost every game the past couple weeks. i hope you can give me some latitude here and don't look upon what i am about to write as being a jerk. this is the problem in general. if one just looks at the stats and use that as the end of all discussion as a final piece of a discussion, then that is a mistake. however in this state of development, maybe this is the perfect time to say, he finally got it. so which is it?? people who are way smarter than i will need to figure this out, and i guess that would be employed in the sox org.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 19, 2015 -> 11:38 PM) It's so weird that he's one of the few players ever to be brought up that quickly. I'm guessing it was to get him signed, but that's unheard of I think. i maybe wrong here. but i remember last yr, he was a total surprise.... they the fo thought davidson was going to be the 3b right out of spring training. but all that conor did was hit.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 19, 2015 -> 11:31 PM) How do all the Hahn fans know he is capable of making the correct moves? This past offseason, all he got was praise, and when those moves didn't work out, it is all KW. If Hahn has been KW's assistant for 10 years before becoming his alleged puppet, what is there to suggest he actually know what he is doing? for those moves, 2 certified move was a failure, Adam LaRoche and Boni. it was the non moves that didn't help. there has to be a reason why players in general can not score runs.... i don't buy the lousy players excuse.

i understand the jr comment, but i am wondering, if being the joke of the whole mlb is not embarrassing to him?? i wonder if the FO feel this embarrassment?? i am even wondering if the players are immune to it?? for me, this team / org is starting to be a laughing stock. esp if Hahn has to run everything past kw before any move is made.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 19, 2015 -> 11:25 PM) There's a much better chance that it was a much more mundane reason. dang.... i was hoping.....

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 20, 2015 -> 12:24 AM) How about we just clean house entirely? You know, just to be certain. does that mean get a new ceo, forcing jr to step down??
-
QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 20, 2015 -> 12:23 AM) I do not know that is just it SS2K, myself it is all pure speculation. That is why as a fan I want to know 100% who is making the decisions. and we as fan will never know for sure, unless kw is out of the org

QUOTE (Dunt @ Jul 19, 2015 -> 11:04 PM) I thought he was just mad he couldnt order sbarro's from there classic

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 19, 2015 -> 11:04 PM) I want Hahn to do his job with KW not involved 100%, so I can judge Hahn fairly. here is the main question, b/c i am with you on this. how do we, the fans know if that is not happening now???
-
QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jul 19, 2015 -> 11:16 PM) Hopefully a Sox trade leading to a Thompson promotion. interesting..... the sox have 4 of'er right now. avi, eaton, melky, shuck. who is the lucky one???
-
QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 19, 2015 -> 10:53 PM) Trayce Thompson pulled a promotion or a trade???
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 19, 2015 -> 11:45 PM) I am reading that as he was pissed off at giving up a two run homer in a 2 run game to put it out of reach. Cooper is the one who makes the pitch decisions anyway. i didn't pay attention to the game and i really didn't know. many thanks.

i can see saladino getting his feet wet now in the majors with an occasional start at ss.

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jul 19, 2015 -> 11:05 PM) Yes, and personally I won't accept the excuse that he's a rental to explain whatever mediocre package we receive. This situation is of his own creation, so he needs to get some future players out of it. Send evaluators to an interested teams Rookie and A level squads and have people do their jobs and locate talent. We've been at the other end of far too many deals ending in a wash, it's time to stop shoulder shrugging and thinking "oh well he's just a rental so all we could get is some minor league filler." I honestly believe the organization has this mindset in trades to always be fair to their partner. Whether its laziness or just bad luck with past deals, im with you; Hahn needs to win big i don't know if it is to be fair..... when kw was running the show, i always thought it was the mind set to aim for 1 player and get it done. even if the sox were overselling. maybe it was b/c the players the sox had were not the ummm great prospects but adequate. teams always need a surplus of pitchers, and the sox have more than enuf to make any trade and interesting one. so i can envision shark trade now and a another trade in the off season.

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jul 19, 2015 -> 11:10 PM) I immediately thought of Robert DeNiro when I saw it, probably just as pissed too But Really it could have been that, or maybe they weren't warmed up soon enough for his liking would cooper have told the other coaches to warm someone up??? i don't know how that works.

More evidence of Chicago media turning on Ventura

QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Jul 19, 2015 -> 05:09 PM) Meh, Shark needed to set the tone. He's been pitching well. He wants a $100 million dollar contract, so he needs to prove it. This team isn't capable of a real "run." The offense and defense won't allow it. We've been playing better lately, but they're not for real. don't get me wrong..... i will agree with that. but i still not following RV logic of pitching shark followed by danks. i can see sale, followed by shark, q, and then danks.... if the team wanted to set the tone, this is the way to do it. but then again, what the in hades do i know.
