Why does *any* member of the White Sox front office deserve their job?
LDF replied to maxjusttyped's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ May 4, 2015 -> 12:33 PM) In my opinion, we asked for this as White Sox fans. Our fickle, dumbass fan base would not support a true rebuild. That is what needed to be done. They didn't want to waste prime years of Sale and Abreu so they went out and spent a ton of money to patch it together. The team spends a ton and it doesn't work and the fans don't come out to support the team. If they rebuild, people complain that they aren't signing free agents in Chicago blah blah and they don't come out. White Sox fans are a bunch of excuse makers. Nobody is getting fired. The team is 30th in runs scored and hasn't homered since April 22. That falls on no one except about the athletes that are getting paid to perform. i disagree, the org was going in the right direction, then it stop. it was like dec that it stop. there were a couple of players that could have been of huge benefit. but instead, the sox got penny and then resign beckham and they of course they spent a whole of money on drabeck. (sp). the FO became short sighted assuming all will preform the same without a viable backup player to plug in. -
QUOTE (mmmmmbeeer @ May 4, 2015 -> 01:48 PM) This team was put together to be competitive for the next several seasons....while they may say that they expected to be competitive this season, I think that this season is still considered part of the rebuild given some of the glaring holes we went in with. I don't think we deal anyone but Shark, assuming he doesn't want to extend. i am going to be pissy with this post, but what makes you believe it was built to be competitiveness as oppose to show the fans of actually caring, to sell tickets and advertising.

QUOTE (AustinIllini @ May 4, 2015 -> 01:48 PM) It is absolutely happening right now. What you see on TV is a franchise being run into the ground. its been like that for yrs... what makes this go around different???

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 4, 2015 -> 01:29 PM) He's kind of the opposite of coming out of nowhere. He had really good seasons at A, A+ and AA, better each level, one level per year. Then he hit a wall in his first shot at AAA, but now seems to have adjusted. I personally think he could hit MLB pitching pretty well. But he's 27 in AAA, isn't very good defensively at 1B, and is... not in good shape. Like, he'd be in the worst athletic condition of any current major league position player, without a doubt. many thanks i guess i missed on him thru the yrs. -
QUOTE (GoSox05 @ May 4, 2015 -> 02:30 PM) Avengers 2 was a bit of a mess. I think they were trying to add too many new characters. The Ultron character was just wasted, I felt like he was barely even in this movie. This is part of the reason I don't want Spider-Man or anyone else in these movies. They spend half the movie just introducing new characters. Actually I'm fine if they add one new Avenger if that means getting rid of Tony Stark. He is beyond played out and I find him annoying. You can see his bad one liners coming from a mile away. surprisingly, i like A1 and cap A winter solice.. with that, i guess i need to see the other movies before i commit to A2 so i hope i may see A2 sometime this week. i guess i am looking forward to it.

at this juncture, with the performance of this team, i see a lot of holes and few highlights. -
well, if the sox decide to sell and only few pieces, so to speak. i can see JS bringing in the most as of now. several team who want to contend are down a pitcher. so buyer beware b/c if JS goes, he will go to the highest bidder. the rtn should be much higher and better than what can be gained in a draft pick.

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 4, 2015 -> 07:12 AM) Just looking at his Stats looks like he had pretty decent years 2011-2013 and had a down year last year in 2014. Like Matt said in his analysis he has always been older for the levels he has been in. don't get me wrong, i would like all the sox prospect to succeed, but the reality of that, i am living in fantasy land for that to happen. i will still be skeptical on his performance and hope he proves me wrong. either way, this will continue to bring hype for the minor league teams, at least for me. -

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 4, 2015 -> 03:55 AM) Great content! Dan Black is really interesting to me, every time I see a box score he is usually getting on base somehow and hitting well. His walks are of interest especially for this team. Would be interesting to see him up if LaRoche hits the DL i need someone opinion other than myself. it like he just came out of no where, putting up good stats across the board. is he for real or is he on a hot streak. -

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 4, 2015 -> 03:29 AM) I just saw this thread. Releasing him had to be done, he has been horrible and is just a waste of space in our minor league system. Better? oops. ok. thanks.

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ May 4, 2015 -> 04:30 AM) I'd like to see a former catcher manager the club to balance out Cooper's influence. Cooper seems to almost be the shadow manager. He certainly controls almost every aspect of the pitching staff and their training and the past few years have certainly took some of the sparkle of his resume. i like martinez b/c he has fire burning just below a calm demeanor. by what i can tell. i also like Todd Steverson b/c he already knows the team. plus he seems to be a good coach. -

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 4, 2015 -> 04:18 AM) My confidence in Beck being a successful major leaguer starter is substantially lower than I have in Erik Johnson. And neither should be truly relied upon, not just yet anyway. Johnson has "it" back from what I can see, and his "it" is a mid-rotation major league starter. Beck has never even reached that point, as he needs significant improvement in his breaking pitche(s) still. His potential is maybe almost as high as EJ's, but he's further from it. i will take your opinion, b/c you see them a lot more that I. this last post was excellent. -

for me, i am taking this a little more serious and prob will be a waste of time. oh well. Todd Steverson why not. he did great last yr. Dave Martinez been talked about in the short area of consideration for previous jobs. Carlos Tosca bench coach, not too many with good team except for this yr. -
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 4, 2015 -> 02:46 AM) Bail amounts are not purely about seriousness of charge. Prior history and flight risk are also major components, as well as financial standing and other factors. i always thought there was no bail on murder.

QUOTE (ptatc @ May 4, 2015 -> 02:59 AM) What goes around comes around. For years this board complained that KW only drafted high floor low ceiling players such as Lance Broadway. Posters begged him to draft more high ceiling athletes who could become stars but also could have the high bust rate. Now its starting to swing the other way. i always attributed his bust due to injury and other factors. do you not agree?

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 4, 2015 -> 02:50 AM) I remember he was on fire that spring. if i remember correctly, wasn't there talk about him going north with the team if he continued like he was the previous yr?

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 4, 2015 -> 03:48 AM) I didn't get much into stats, by design. I talked about his pitches, the quality and command of them. I didn't get as much into the confidence thing as I didn't get to speak to him directly after the game (which is sort of a story itself). i am just wanting him to hurry up and be ready kinda of mood. it would be great to get him back to nibbling on the heals to be moved up. getting him and EJ would be fantastic. -
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 4, 2015 -> 02:47 AM) Of course it is. That was kind of my point. crap!!! ..... my bad. sorry.

QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ May 4, 2015 -> 03:44 AM) Last place Brewers fire manager Ron Roenicke Brewers general manager Doug Melvin announced Sunday evening that the team has fired manager Ron Roenicke. The Brewers will name is successor on Monday. The organization exercised his option for the 2016 season only six weeks ago despite the fact that they stumbled down the stretch in 2014. The Brewers currently own the worst record in the National League at 7-18 and sit 11 1/2 games back in the National League Central. Source: Adam McCalvy on TwitterMay 3 - 10:21 PM Now we need to fire ours. well what ever happens now with RV, if it is the worst case, then he won't be the first one in this season. -
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 4, 2015 -> 03:40 AM) Double-edged sword? No, this is leadership! Jose Abreu nailed it if it is leadership and no one is listening, the question is why?
