Buehrle is the face of the franchise for me. I love Ozzie, PK, Jenks, but Buehrle has been really special to this organization. It's hard to explain the feeling I felt when we re-signed him in our last effort before trading him, which just hurts me to say. Oh and he wouldn't be here had he given us a home town discount. So hats off so Buehrle! One of the best players ever to put on a White Sox uniform.

Top picks for White Sox road trips

I plan to make a trip with the sox to one of the central rivals. From what I've read it seems like Jacobs is the best? -

I've only been to 3 other parks other than the cell, all of them in SoCal. My favorite was Petco in San Diego. -
Halladay mowed down the Twins. That guy is damn good...

Joe Crede video tribute from last night?

Anyone have the video? I should've downloaded it from youtube when I had the chance. -
Will White Sox fans also boo BA if he goes 0/8?
Whitewashed in '05 replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Brian needs to go out there and have good ABs. That's the one thing Ozzie has always asked for. He'll stick it out if you're at least having good ABs. If he has ABs like the one he had vs Humber, he's on a short leash and I can't argue. The reason he removed Wise from leadoff so quickly is because he saw Wise was going up there being defensive the entire AB. What BA needs to do is learn how to foul off those tough pitches until he gets something decent to hit. Until then he's going to have a mediocre avg with decent power numbers. -
QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 10:39 PM) i completely agree. BUT i wanna get that video... i'd LOVE to see that. hilarious Someone needs to get it if the Yanks don't put it up on their site. I HAVE to see it.

All MLB Players Forced to Wear 42 on Wednesday

Sara Varone and lol @ Steve's avi... thats wrong... yet it still makes me laugh. -
I hope BA gets the majority playing time in CF. If he doesn't it just doesn't get any clearer that he isn't ever going to get a chance to start for this organization again.

All MLB Players Forced to Wear 42 on Wednesday
Whitewashed in '05 replied to HuskyCaucasian's topic in The Diamond Club
I don't think it's too much to ask to honor him every year... now to make everyone wear 42, that's a little over the top. -
Swish is having a very nice start out there in NY.

Joe Crede video tribute from last night?
Whitewashed in '05 replied to wilmot825's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (PlunketChris @ Apr 11, 2009 -> 09:43 PM) Awesome video. Awesome player. My two favorite memories of Joe are in that video. The JOEEEE CREEEDEEE call at the end of that game vs. The Indians in 05, and his home-opener grand slam from last year (My first home opener and Joe brought us the victory). The fact that he's with the Twins has already set in with me, but some moments in that video made it sting like when I first found out he signed with them. I was so happy to see that Indians walkoff as its one of my favorite regular season moments ever. Some of my other favorite moments in that video were the shots of him taking the team picture with the trophy and ofcourse the ending with Hawk put the great finishing touches. They gave him a louder ovation when they were announcing the lineups at the stadium when he was stretching than when he came up to bat. I can't wait for him to go to a different team so he can be in a different jersey, which if he stays healthy and has a good season, will happen. -

RIP... That Eclipse was mangled. I thought it was a convertible. It looks like he took the hardest hit being the passenger. -
Sox-Royals on WGN Tonight - 7:11pm CDT

Soria is just sick. A .169 OBA? He made JD look silly on that slow curve. Good pitching by both sides. I'm encouraged by Linebrink. -
QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Apr 6, 2009 -> 09:36 PM) the same could be said for lewis + reyes, or hell, the entire detroit rotation behind verlander is just... wow, porcello+gallaraga, really Dombrowski? that sounds like desperation to me I don't know much about Porcello other than he's highly touted. I don't know if they're rushing him or anything though. Gallaraga was decent for them last year. I think Jackson and Miner are worse than Porcello and Gallaraga. Either way their rotation is full of question marks. You don't know what you're going to get each day those guys step on the bump.

It will be a long time before KW and Frank forgive each other.

Sox sign Konerko's Personal Batting Practice Pitcher

QUOTE (Wanne @ Apr 5, 2009 -> 09:54 PM) He did hold lefties to a .200 BA last season in 17IP... although the previous couple years it's been over .250... -
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 5, 2009 -> 07:45 PM) Do the edges of the graphic blend with the gray background of the header for you? The gray below the "S" should be the same as the gray to the left of it. Yeah, everything looks good. Props for the nice banner.

Doesn't make much a difference for me since I've either got school or work during the day. I might have to skip class... we'll see. By the way, the new banner is bad A********!!

Watch our bats go to sleep again vs Horacio... ugh.

What is the main problem with Fields defensively?
Whitewashed in '05 replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Mar 29, 2009 -> 01:59 PM) Well, the Sox were still faced with a decision. Give Crede a cheap contract that beats out Minny's (but not by a ton)......and pursue trades for Fields Or Keep Fields only. I would agree with anyone that would speculate Fields likely has low trade value at this point. But you cant talk about Crede as if he was in line for a huge payday. Because of his injuries, we wouldve gotten a massive discount. We can make ourselves think it was a no-brainer to soothe ourselves, but there's still baseball to be played. You can wish it away, but Joe Crede will have atbats this year. if Crede turns around his career on a bargain deal, maybe we made the wrong move. You have to at least admit that is possible. My only point here is that all this is still to be determined. I would agree with your guesses but I dont cement them as automatic fact that they're right and praise the organization. I wait and see, and these boards are better if more people keep the critical eye. Your own description of fandom SEEMS to be (defintely correct me if i'm wrong) keeping the critical eye until the Sox make a decision, and then support that decision til the next critical decision has to be made. I say this based on your last two sentences. First off, all I was saying was that, "Crede would've gotten that" doesn't need to be posted over and over. We all watched Crede. We all know how good he is defensively when healthy. We all think the same thing when Fields misses a ball, but does it really need to be posted? I also never said never utter a word about Joe Crede. I think I've made it clear already what I meant. Aside from all the business details, you would have taken Crede over Fields AGAIN this season? Crede shouldn't have been in a sox uniform last season. The only reason he was is because there were no takers. So once again we were left without a third basemen for most of last season because he got injured again. I don't believe everything the sox management tells me to believe, but I also don't believe Boras when he says Crede is ready to play a full season when he hasn't been able to do that since 2006.
