  1. QUOTE(timotime @ Nov 22, 2005 -> 12:28 PM) i seriously hope that we never even have to contemplate this. what a horrible idea for a trade. thome is 37! Thome just turned 35. He would be our 2nd best hitter possibly even first best. I seriously hope we do comtemplate this.
  2. I really don't think Crede is moving, he will be our starting 3rd baseman. I think if the Sox sign Mueller, which I don't think will happen, he will be a bench player or a part of a DH rotation if we can't get a Delgado or Thome. I trust Kenny, he won a WS last year, I have faith in every move of his.
  3. Yankees get A.J. Burnett or at least that will happen soon. They will have to combat the Sox's move.
  4. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Nov 21, 2005 -> 06:28 AM) You guys are all basing your opinions on Gload being sure to be tendered a contract... But he obviously pissed some people off in this organizion... He's this off seasons Kelly Wunsch and I wouldn't be suprised at all to see him let go... The Sox have no real use for him... and it's hard to imagine Ozzie even wants him on the team considering how he was treated during the season... I've never understood what Ozzie has agaisnt Ross. When you come right down to it, if Ross was a full-time starter, he would probably have a better average than most of the guys in our line-up. That being said, I still don't want him starting for us, but as a back-up 1st baseman who can play outfield if necessary, he's a good bench player.
  5. Brooks doing some very good thing to boost attendance.
  6. My sub: 12 inch Parmesan Bread Turkey Pepperoni Oil Vinegar Oregano with a Mr. Pipp, awww so good.
  7. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Nov 20, 2005 -> 06:19 PM) From Rotoworld: The Indians, Mariners, Royals and Tigers are among the teams that have displayed interest in free agent Kenny Rogers. Rogers turned 41 this month, but he is going to want a multiyear deal. The Rangers aren't expected to make an offer to keep him. Source: Fort Worth Star-Telegram Since the Tigers and Indians are after him, I thought this belonged here. Not sure how I feel about this. Any team who gives Kenny Rogers a multiyear deal is stupid. He is 41 years old and will have a good first half and fade. Or most likely, not even have a good first half and be injured for most the year.
  8. Saw that on Yahoo, that is scary s***. There was no confimation of a shooter though, the people injured weren't confirmed to be shot and the person who saw the guy wasn't 100% he was holding a gun.
  9. Texas Pan American hang in with ILL for awhile, but a win is a win. Jamar Smith is a stud.
  10. Nobody would trade for Wood, unless the Cubs picked up a huge portion of his contract, which the Cubs would never do. They want to see the one year that Wood pitches amazing to validate all the money the gave him, and this year will likely never happen.
  11. I think he will be at B-ham to start and will suceed, then move to Charlotte where he will be on and off with the Knights Stadium being a hitters park. As much as I would want a knuckler in the rotation and want Haeger to suceed, there is no room for him in sox's rotation in the future. With guys ahead of him in Broadway, Gonzalez, Haigwood, McCarthy and Liotta, he will be traded and hopefully have a long career.
  12. You want your best defensive player in CF and that is Anderson, you want your best arm usually in RF and that is JD, and the weakest link in left, which Scott is. Just note how the Cubs used Moises Alou and the Sawks with Manny.
  13. Summer Breeze by Seals & Crofts
  14. If the Phillies eat half of the contract, we end up paying $8 million for a prime hitter, if he is healthy. But, he is just as big a risk as any free agent out there this year, even Konerko and we would only be tied for 3 years. I say, Kenny needs to jump on this before Cleveland. In 2 weeks, my guess is that Kenny will be Pat Gillick's Siamese twin at the Winter Meetings.
  15. For the Sox's sake, I hope Wilder stays, but for his I hope he gets the GM job. He has a great baseball mind.
  16. Scott Eyre will equal Mike Remlinger, watch. Jim Hendry = stupid.
  17. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Nov 17, 2005 -> 08:05 AM) According to ESPN 1000's update, Bruce Levine is reporting that the Cubs have made a "serious long-term offer" to Scott Eyre. The report said that both parties are committed to getting the deal done. Another irrational move by Hendry. They did the same thing with Mike Remlinger, he gave them one good year in 2003, then in 2004 he was injured and last year he was terrible. When you are desperate for bullpen arms, you make stupid decision. I think Will Ohman is better than Eyre and will have a better year than Eyre, not to mention Ohman is much younger. So, why don't the Cubs focus on Howry and someone else. 3 years for a 33 year old reliver who has had one good year is stupid.
  18. The Sox should wait out on this trade as long as possible. One Thome has a no-trade clause and will accept a trade to Sox and the more we lead on to the Phils that we won't give in to their demands, the less we have to give up.
  19. Kirk and Ben should have big games against a weak defensive backcourt.

It took me a while going through libraries to find the songs, but I have created a Sox CD. Elk Hunt (Trevor Jones) He's A Pirate (Klaus Bedelt) Thunderstruck (AC/DC) Let's GO GO White Sox (unknown) Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye (Steam) Don't Stop Believin' (Journey) Holding out for a Hero (Bonnie Tyler) Livin' on a prayer (Bon Jovi) Let the Good Times Roll (the Cars) My Hero (Foo Fighters) Centerfield (John Foggerty) Funny Little Feeling (Rock and Roll Soldiers) Eye of the Tiger (Survivor) **The top 6 songs were the key and I just added the rest for fun. What do you think of the CD? Any suggestions?
  21. Hopefully Marte can go to Florida in some sort of Delgado deal.
  22. http://www.minorleagueball.com/, he likes B-Mac a little more than Scott Baker of the Twins. Good read.
  23. Plenty of teams are willing to give Eyre 3-years, $9 million. With the big teams involved, he might get $4-5 million per year. I doubt we get him and I agree Myers would be a solid alternative, but I would rather have Damaso than Myers.
  24. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Nov 13, 2005 -> 09:41 PM) I am still betting that the Big Hurt is our DH in 2006. Plus Frank has better power numbers than Piazza. Mike will be an AL DH next year just not with the Sox. Frank is gone, the Sox don't want the injury risk.
