OK card, suprised by the amount of decisions considering some of the firepower in the fights (I don't mind decisions at all, just thought there would be more subs or KOs) Cro Cop doesn't have many fights in Dream except a rematch with Overeem, possibly just hates the cage or fighting in U.S. It's too bad, would have like to see a Randy or Nog vs. Cro Cop in the UFC. Ray Mercer KO'd a 310lb Tim Sylvia in like 10 seconds in a MMA match. I haven't seen the fight, just relaying what I've read. It was originally going to be boxing, but they couldn't get it sanctioned, so supposedly they would agree to a boxing match, just sanctioned under MMA so it could go forward. Mercer lost a similar bout to Kimbo a few years ago.

with the Sox upcoming payroll flexability, look for their name to get mentioned it many trades and especially FAs in the offseason, the agents always want to give the impression many teams are involved

QUOTE (SoxFanForever @ Jun 12, 2009 -> 05:09 PM) Was just watching "MLB Tonight: Batting Practice" on the MLB Network and they were discussing Matt Holliday as the best impact bat on the trade market this year. Jon Heyman was on there and was listing a number of possible teams that Holliday could go to and at the end said that the Sox were a "wild card" to trade for him. Thoughts? it would be a rent a player, he likely won't resign and opt to hit FA... I think I heard LaRussa has mentioned him by name

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jun 12, 2009 -> 10:55 AM) If you're referring to the Bob Saget roast, you couldn't be more wrong. He was sober and intentionally did very tame jokes. It was hilarious. I agree, it was funny, but if people thought he was off a little it's because Artie Lange was supposed to be there, didn't show up and there were strong rumors that he was dead. Norm and Artie are good friends, Bob Saget was under the same impression, he told the story on Stern's show a few months back.

QUOTE (G&T @ Jun 12, 2009 -> 11:02 AM) Holmes announced that he will be doing the Me show again at night. Good, this guy does not deserve to get the shaft, I would personally take him sans Hampton over Mac, but I tend to listen to sports radio more at night anyway, so I'll hear him more

except the 1st game of the double header he has played, right? I think if Oz actually started to bench him the team would send him back to AAA -
QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 04:31 PM) Just be careful on how hard you run on the way down. I did too much too soon and got popliteal tendonitis in the back of my knee. It put me out for 4 months. I missed a marathon due to it. yeah, thanks for the tip, but I've been actually just walking down, partly because I'm very clumsy!

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 08:28 PM) Don't tell me he's taking McCarthy's spot... I believe he's reporting to AAA

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 11:40 PM) 1. Why would the Royals give that much to a team in division. 2. No one's trading Soriano (one of the better OF's in the game) for a closer3. Jonathan Broxton is pretty much a younger Bobby Jenks. Alfonso? He's productive, but the Cubs would dumb that contract in a second if they could

QUOTE (north side chi sox fan @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 02:46 PM) What do you guys think of a packaged centered arround Jenks and Jake Fox Cubs are prob still going for it. Their bullpen has been terrible and we get our DH of the future. Thome gone after this year.. Dye likely to be traded. Fox has nowhere to play on the cubs. no, Jake Fox is above 25, and probably a AAAA player. If he could hit MLB pitching well, the Cubs would have found a place for him

Hill running is a great workout, started doing it a few weeks ago and it kicks your ass

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 01:04 PM) rain delay entertainment: MLB network 1986 Angels vs Red Sox ALCS the Cubs are also playing if people want live baseball as entertainment... looks like they're facing a guy from the Astros pen to begin the game edit: never mind, it is Ortiz, he's just going from the stretch to begin with

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 01:02 PM) I’m not sure I even like the repercussions of barely winning the division again. If anything this will just reaffirm Ozzie’s mad belief that the collection of guys he keeps putting out there are putting us in the best position to win for the near future. that's when JR and KW have a meeting with him after the year and explain to him the orgs plan for the team and if he doesn't want in they'll let him "retire" and say he's burned out
