  1. Well I'm glad to hear she's not using tinted contacts!!
  2. I would argue in his defense that the botched surgery he had out of the country was HORRIBLE. I mean reading some of the things this guy went through with that could realisticaly take a couple of years to fully recover... However, I would tend to agree that signing him to this type of deal seems odd.... Hope the Cubs, Astros and Yankees are opening their checkbook wide... because if Beltre costs this much, how much is Beltran going to run?
  3. No, still trying to try the tears from my game worn Wunsch jersey (at least he signed with my 2nd favorite team)
  4. I agree. First they were saying the Sox made 10m offer to Clement, then they just drop that story. Now they're saying they may trade for RJ, but saying they don't have enough money to sign Clement, but wouldn't adding RJ be about as much as adding Clement?
  5. Not doubting that it was said... just reporting what's going on now
  6. yeah, but a "known" prospect... another prospect would probably be a lower minor leaguer
  7. FWIW ESPN 12:40 update, both local and national said nothing about RJ... Local said Sox are mildly interested in AJ (the Catcher with the funky last name I'm too hungover to try and spell), but have concerns about his attitude
  8. When I got home at like 3:00 a.m. this morning (hey my finals are over...) I threw on ESPN Radio and the update said something along the lines of AZ and NY talking again... so this may be it, I would bet the White Sox are involved in some 3-way though
  9. If it was the 10:20 update I'm just guessing that Boers probably talked to some of his "baseball sources" and that might of lead to the change... just a possibility... but I agree with whoever said nobody outside of KW really knows what's going on
  10. This may be a negotiation strategy with Varitek
  11. Good point, AZ is in a win/win situation... either they trade him now for their high price, or wait until midseason, and either they're contenders and he's willing to stay, or the Red Sox and Yankees will war over him with lots of $$$$. (Obviously there's a risk of him getting hurt, but he was strong last year and AZ will probably take the risk)
  12. Well whatever happens, I would imagine the Sox are going to sign a FA pitcher, if they lose out on Clement (I do see the Angels increasing their offer) they should make a charge at Perez, they're obviously willing to spend the money
  13. Boers and Bernstein made a good point that if baseball is going to really crack down on steroids and other performance enhancers, then being able to steal and move runners along becomes more and more important... have to think about that... but good food for thought
  14. I tend to agree with you, Cubs got Hip at the right time, but I guarantee you (not arguing the teams head to head) that if the Sox make a run deep into the playoffs this year and the cubs fall on their face some of the same douche bag windsocks you saw wearing Cubs shirts will be wearing Sox shirts...
  15. yeah, that's what I gather from this article. What should AZ ask for? Grilli and Gload for RJ? No, they should ask for a high ceiling deal that doesn't completely insult KW and gauge his reaction...
  16. Whether I agree with this move or not, I see KW doing this move, or something similar... so be prepared
  17. just heard the update where they played a highlight from the interview, and this was a quote... "I know we are not done yet" so hopefully something is coming...
  18. Take it for what it's worth, but Reinsorf and KW have backed off the "never sign" a Boras client comments KW made.... but I do think it will still be a problem
  19. Link to an ESPN story.... http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=1946536 Man, MLB has its head up its ass sometimes... I wonder if this voids any contracts that were signed?
  20. The thing I'm interested in for this interview is that McNeil and Harry have both said they think this trade is palatable because they expect more moves, so if KW lays the "save money for June/July" rap on them hopefully they'll call him out on it.
  21. I think that's what it was before the trade, meaning the payroll was at 72m and KW had said no more FA's, but we will see
  22. No, all the talk is Pod in LF and Row in CF, I believe KW has said that too somewhere
  23. boy, this article sure seems like Rogers was forced to write something, but he knows this isn't the end of the line for KW's moves... really stale article
  24. hey, I'm not supporting the move... just throwing it out there... it does raise my attention level that a "mystery team" offerred Clement good money today, and it just so happens to be the day the Sox clear their payroll to fit 8-10m
