  1. That was a gift strike. Third pitch actually looked better.
  2. That sac bunt looked pretty pointless before Braun's at-bat. Dempster isn't pitching well tonight, so why give him an out?
  3. He's like the third best hitter on our team. It'd be nice if the Sox stopped trading for former football players (Jerry Owens.)
  4. You;re right, as I was thinking that was the case too. I posted Webb's 2007 numbers the first time. But it was Harang who was robbed!
  5. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/more...lers/index.html
  6. So? ...and I would like to see extensive evidence of this. There aren't 15 picks in the MLB draft. There are PLENTY of superstars who were drafted after the first round.
  7. Andy freaking Gonzalez. Remember that name Sox fans. Remember that name.
  8. Why do you care about the Reds so much? I thought last season it was Zambrano that deserve the CY Young because of the way he handled Cincy's "great offense (when the truth was they were the worst offensive teams on the road and the worst in the month of September?) Last year Oswalt (2.98 ERA, 1.17 WHIP) or Chris Carpenter (3.09 ERA, 1.07 WHIP) over Brandon Webb (3.10 ERA, 1.13 WHIP.) Harang's 2005 Freddy Garcia-like numbers do not belong in the conversation (3.76 ERA, 1.27 WHIP in the NL) Garcia (3.87 ERA, 1.25 WHIP in the AL.)
  9. Soooo, taking steroids makes you a better baseball player but not a better wrestler? In Vince McMahon's world, larger = better. So taking steroids can lead to undeserving pushes.
  10. I'm actually impressed with how Sosa is handling LHP this year.
  11. So if and when all these wrestlers die due to drug abuse, should we just respond with "who cares?"
  12. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/2007/08/...ng_scandal.html Let me guess Brian, he was framed. This is not a list of the 10 guys, it's just a list of wrestlers who received steroids and/or drugs without seeing a doctor.
  13. Somebody is still hungover from 2005.
  14. I like people bumping threads as long as it's not in the"HAHA, told you so!!!111!!" way. At WSI, if you start an Aaron Rowand thread, you'll get "again?" followed by an image that says "the search ffeature is your friend." If you use the search feature and start the conversation again, the thread gets locked. They should just lock the threads after they hit page 2 with that kind of idiocy.
  15. A .290 OBP didn't stop a certain big mouth from winning ROY.
  16. 6 IP, 8 H, 3 BB, 2 K's, 3 ER Another mediocre outing from a mediocre pitcher who isn't getting paid like he's mediocre.
  17. No. Boston has the hype, a rookie, and two first year japanese players.
  18. Thanks. Just noticed three things: 1. It was by the TalkChicagoSports tab 2. There's a talkcubs.com now 3. This is the only bolded statement: "Any spamming of our members through e-mail or private messages is punishable by immediate banning. This includes links to sites that are sent out for the purpose of recruiting new members for other websites." How about banning that absolute poker dude? I never got the $50 to play with yet at least twice a week I get e-mails from them.
  19. Is there an official code of conduct listed anywhere?
  20. Take a look at the offensive production minus Konerko, Thome and Dye. That's 6 free innings for the Rangers.
  21. Always fun to see your leadoff hitter coming in with a .272/.331/.354 line go 0-5. Nobody was available off the bench to PH for the Grindstone cowboy? *looks at list* Nope. Holy s***. What a horsecrap team.
  22. I just wonder if Hall will finish up with more walks than RBI's. Right now he's sitting on 1 for each category.
  23. Even considering his injury, Hall has to be one of the biggest free agent busts in White Sox history.
