  1. Since I can't figure out how to type stuff in the neat code format, I'll just attach a picture. If you think those are bad numbers, you are either blind, stupid, or a hater. Which is LV?
  2. Sac flies actually hurt an OBP, but don't affect a batting average. I wouldn't describe a .469 OBP in any situation as "good" either. I was shocked to see you only made one reply after someone, and it's usually from the same group of people, throws some crap at the wall hoping this time it would stick.
  3. Actually you being a Big time Rowand fanboy and avoiding all stats that show how good of a hitter Thome is in most situations is much older.
  4. 05 was awesome. I hung out with a lot of random die hard Sox fans and made some more friends in the process.
  5. That is the softest schedule for a freshman I have ever seen.
  6. Since the search engine is back, take a look at the last three threads he has started.
  7. That's pretty good thinking. He doesn't strikeout that much and without looking at the stats, I can recall him having a lot of opposite field hits.
  8. I know I'm late to the party, but somebody forgot about the waiver trade deadline. Yes, players can be traded in September as well, but they can't be on the playoff roster. Can we PLEASE leave this forum open all year to include winter meeting rumors and Xbox fantacrap trades? please??? :
  9. Tadahito Iguchi was having a superb second half OBP-wise and it only got us a 21 year old single A guy. Rob Mackowiak's 1.132 OPS in July netted us a 23 year old single A pitcher. What are Pods' and Erstad's values if they get on a hot streak? I'm guessing a 27 year old High-A outfielder and a 24 year old single A player who has already had TJS.
  10. Darin's 9th extra base hit of the year. What is the average number of extra base hits for a corner outfielder these days?
  11. I just noticed Casey has only hit 19 homers since 2004. Pretty pathetic for a first baseman.
  12. Anyone else think Bonderman is way overrated? Even last season, his first season where he wasn't below the league average, he had a 1.30 WHIP.
  13. Joe Crede's first 227 PA's to Josh Fields' first 228 PA's Josh: .232/.303/.420 10 HR, 32 RBI's 71 K's Crede: .263/.295/.447 10 HR, 37 RBI's 45 K's There's really not too much of a difference with the exception of Crede having a better average and typical crap walk rate and fewer strikeouts. You underrate Fields too much.
  14. If the Sox go to arbitration with Crede, they can not make an offer less than 80% of the previous year's salary. Since Crede is making $4.95 million this year, the smallest offer they can make is around $4 million. It does not matter how he did this year, he's going to get at least $4 million if they decide to go to arbitration.
  15. I just knew that blown call with Theriot would lead to a few runs for the Cubs.
  16. Joe Crede is a below average hitter with back concerns, an asshole of an agent, and one year left on his contract after stealing $5 million from the Sox this year. He has a replacement, so it makes perfect sense to non-tender him. We wasted $3.9 million on injury prone Pods and Erstad, and with Crede it would be no different. Get rid of him.
  17. Verlander did not turn that franchise around at all. I give more credit to the alien that took over Carlos Guillen's body
  18. Gavin Floyd was the 4th pick in 2001 draft. Screw the draft position. Take that higher signing bonus and use it to sign more and/or better scouts.
  19. LMFAO If there's any consolation, at least the single A kids have someone who will hook them up with some beer.
  20. I wasn't expecting a grade A prospect and especially since nobody was moved this week, but Rob did have a July OPS over 1.100
