  1. Pitching to Morneau with a base open in extras. Nuff said.
  2. Do the number of losses a pitcher has really matter when he on a crap team? Contreras isn't helping his own causes, but if Hawk Harrelson is ripping your managerial decisions, it says a lot on what has been going on since ASB 2006.
  3. That's pretty bad. Would Crede have made the play?
  4. I thought you were going to ask "why don't you prove it?" Seriously B>W, if you can guarantee, like testify in court, that NCAA officials are worse, what is holding you back? I would love to have the games cleaned up. Please come forward to the FBI with your information.
  5. Did the brain dead Red Sux fans give another standing ovation to the $102 million man?
  6. Why would the Angels, or any team for that mater, trade someone when their stock is at their lowest value when they have complete control over the player for some time? Ervin Santana sucks. If he never had the name "Johan Santana," people wouldn't look so highly on him. He's predictably atrocious on the road, has had health issues, and is a headcase.
  7. He doesn't earn his PT and it shouldn't just be given to him. He is a complete hack and liability in the OF. The Reds didn't have a DH spot and Ortiz is doing just fine as the DH for the Blow Sox.
  8. He is supposedly looking for Gary Matthews Jr. money, and is willing to give the D-Bags a hometown discount. I like the guy too, but I would only sign him to a contract like the Sox will eventually give to Aaron Rowand.
  9. His walk rate is brutal. How well do you think that will translate to the major league level?
  10. QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Jul 14, 2007 -> 10:46 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> LOL! I love this thread. Everytime we lose miserably while scoring no runs, I know it will be there. Like a warm blankey. The hitting of late reminds me of 2004. We score 11 runs, or none. Oof. I know I'll get killed for this, but I miss smallball/Ozzieball/smartball/it-wasn't-smallball-'cause-we-hit-homers/whatever. Four, three runs a game was fine with me when it still meant a win. when have the sox scored 11 runs in a game this year? I don't recall the 2004 offense being in the bottom of most batting categories.
  11. Albert Belle had a .823 OPS for us in 1997. Didn't he cause some problems that year at the ASG? Check out these splits in 1998: 1st Half: .278/.354/.517 18 HR, 66 RBI's in 87 games 2nd Half: .387/.451/.816 31 HR, 86 RBI's in 76 games during total garabge time.
  12. I'm going to miss this thread when we move.
  13. QUOTE(briguy27 @ Jul 8, 2007 -> 08:53 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But we need them on here permanently Why? This is a White Sox site. Wasn't Sheets supposed to start tonight?
  14. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 13, 2007 -> 07:09 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> By my calculations, if this score holds up, we'll be 3-10 this year when Hall started. Yep, and the two games he came in as a sub, we lost.
  15. QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Jul 13, 2007 -> 08:38 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If Hafner gets $14, should Hunter get less? Teams value defense alot so I think it's possible Torii will get more.
  16. QUOTE(greg775 @ Jul 12, 2007 -> 10:13 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This seems like a good thread to ask the question. Seriously, to all of you who I trust with knowledge of baseball: Can you identify or could KW identify somebody the Sox could acquire from a non contender to pitch the sixth and seventh innings or seventh and eighth preferably? Is anybody out there we could get for a prospect or two? Anybody??? Rich Harden?
  17. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=377 Old thread I came across on yahoo search. Sure was a lot of Honel love.
  18. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 12, 2007 -> 11:39 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I won't....Hafner is younger and far more likely to stay healthy for the next couple seasons while Thome's production is gonna continue to decrease and decrease (plus he's gonna continue to get more and more banged up). Hafner is already 30, and what's his excuse for his big drop in numbers this season?
  19. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Jul 12, 2007 -> 09:07 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Josh Fields possibly, maybe Darin Erstad in his prime. Why Erstad? He was simply a punter in football and even in his prime he wasn't that great in baseball. I'll add onto to Dye as well, even though he is struggling this season. He was a pitcher and I think he can still gun it, and he can play basketball.
  20. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 12, 2007 -> 08:49 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's just another example of how secretive this administration is. This is by far the shadiest administration in my lifetime. If there is nothing to hide I would think they would try to look cooperative for once. I hate this logic. Were you one of the same liberals who said George W Bush violated the bill of rights when he spied on people which actually ccaught some of the terrorists? I vividly recall the right wing here responding with "If you have nothing to hide, why are you worried?" Minors had the same logic when there was a discussion of Sheriff Joe wanted to set up illegal road blocks to check cars for drugs.
  21. If you don't believe wcw, just do a search of his posts. Oh right. Blow the damn thing up already
  22. Why do people care about post counts? Quality > Quantity.
  23. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jul 8, 2007 -> 03:06 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hafner: .262 .396 .453 .849 Thome: .269 .430 .522 .952 QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 11, 2007 -> 06:47 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Travis Hafner signs a 4 year extension worth about 57 million. Yep. I'll take Thome for half the price.
  24. Now this is a grinder that I can tolerate being on the Sox.
