White Sox vs. Twins, Game 2 of DH, 7/06/07 (L)
santo=dorf replied to santo=dorf's topic in 2007 Season in Review
QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 07:45 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Luis Castillo is old and can't run anymore. The Twins announcers just said he got a single "bad knees and all." That cheap hit from a hideous swing results in nothing. -
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 01:16 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Even so, the way everything took place.... just having a sequel would be idiotic in my mind. Obviously they can do it, just I think it will be a significantly worse movie.... They already signed a deal for two more sequels. Eat it. I recall reading Soundwave was going to have a big role in the next movie.

QUOTE(Sonik22 @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 07:35 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> OMFG! Please be ok! Not that I'm rooting for players to get hurt, but wouldn't you rather see Mauer at catcher forcing Garza to bat? -

Floyd's delivery reminds me of Scott Elarton's -
I have the same thread starting record as these two guys but here's a hint; bet the under. Please don't suck Gavin. Twins pregame show talks about how much of a Twin killer Thome is, but the graphic underneath says in his career against the Twins he's 2-14 with 6 BB's.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 04:55 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> May 17, 1979 Cubs lose 23-22 to the Phillies in 10. Neither starter made it past 1 out before being pulled. That has to be the ML record. That's a great game. Everytime it's on ESPN Classic I watch it. There's like 500 people at Wrigley that day too. -

What did Uribe do and how many pitches did he see? -

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 02:33 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm guessing the twins might put up a 20 spot on the Sox today. This is ridiculous. I hope this game finds its way to ESPN classic one day -
Red Sox/White Sox Trade Proposal
santo=dorf replied to redandwhite's topic in Sox Baseball Headquarters
QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jul 5, 2007 -> 12:46 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'd rather this trade not be made than Kenny Williams coming to Boston. He's horrible. Theo's last good move was the Curt Schilling trade. Theo isn't that good. As for Wily Mo for Buehrle, -
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 29, 2007 -> 09:23 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The Everett article was interesting for a couple of reasons... Ben Davis is still playing? Wow, who knew? Second, if Danny Graves can get into the low 90's again, he could help out a major league club in the pen. Danny Graves sucks. He was throwing that "hard" in the Indians camp last year.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 08:33 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Was this pre-emptive? Never thought I'd see you updating us on Ervin Santana's success away from home. 9 K's in 3IP now. Yes, the batter reached on a drop third strike.
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 08:32 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Did you bet against him? No, I haven't made a bet on baseball in awhile. Damn you yahoo for getting my hopes up about a Thome inside the parker
-
Weren't the Sox big on Cabrera back in the offseason?
-
Wait, how did Thome just hit an inside the park home run?
-
Ervin Santana tonight on the road so far: 3 IP, 8K's Yikes

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 09:59 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He is represented by Boras, which is why the Sox probably won't even talk to Patterson but I'd still love for it to happen. Why? He's worse than Erstad.
-
Just remember, the O's bullpen is just as bad. Get out of this inning down by only one run please. Why didn't the Sox walk Millar?
-
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 09:53 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If he were willing to accept such a role, I'd love to have Corey Patterson coming off the bench as the 4th OF/speed off the bench guy. He's only 27 years old, great defensively, great speed, very good basestealer and he's having a pretty terrible year so he could be signed at a very reasonable price despite his immense talent. Corey Patterson has always been awful and I believe is represented by Boras.

QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 09:48 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Patterson 4 for 4 against us? Horrible. Should've just let Boone stayed in.

QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 07:44 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If Ozzie knows this is Buehrle's last start with the team, I'd love to see him pull him during the middle of an inning or at the start of an inning so that he can get one last standing ovation. Unfortunately it'll be in typical Ozzie fashion where it's one batter too late. Something along the lines of giving up a 3 run homer to Kevin Millar in the 8th when he was at 120 pitches.

QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 07:32 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thankfully I'm going down in flames with you on this one. You still haven't answered my question about your thoughts on Willie Harris being our starting 2nd baseman next year. I didn't see it. I think Harris would be okay as long as he was willing to sit against LHP. I would like to see a 3 headed monster, well, mini-beast, at SS and second next year. Iguchi just might ask for a NTC.
