QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jul 10, 2007 -> 03:23 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> After that I have to go home and wursh my clothes. LMAO I notice all the old timers here in Iowa said "Worsher." Where the hell did they get that idea from?

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 9, 2007 -> 03:40 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Pretty rare, though. Some would say the LOTR movies were better than the books. Any other suggestions, anyone? Movies better than the book (for those who have seen/read BOTH). Passion of the Christ.

Can we make the new site just a little bit more baseball heavy? By that I mean having a permanent forum for rumors and Xbox trade proposals (the Crawford trade scenario get annoying rather quickly when they are in the Pale Hose Talk.) Keep the diamond club for official transactions around the MLB and other MLB tidbits. Split up a fantasy baseball from the other games, or at least move it up on the list because it seems to get lost being a sub-forum in the last discussion folder. Just some thoughts.

But my ignore list filled with banned users!!! I wouldn't mind starting over, but please keep those who were banned from here to remain banned. No second choices for those guys. Are you going to wait until july 31st like KW to see if this thing needs to be blown up?

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 10:53 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I thought I was the last Arod fan outside of NYC. If the guy hadn't have signed the 252, he would still be universally loved. Even after the Arroyo slap and yelling "ball!" in Toronto? Not so sure.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 8, 2007 -> 08:51 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Whats your point. One hit 20 plus points higher and actually looked decent at the plate. He's also absolutely killing AAA right now. Just to point something out I've said that about Anderson from day one and so far thats making me look pretty good (wish it wasn't cause Anderson is a tremendous athlete). I have also never heard anything about Cedeno having a crappy attitude. I'm sure your going to tell me how Cedeno has a crappy OPS and whatever else but I'm not all that concerned with OPS out of the shortstop position, especially if a guy could potentially hit for a pretty good average. And by all means I'm not saying Cedeno is a sure fire thing but he has talent. Bruce Miles told the NSBB community that Cedeno needed to "grow up" and that 2006 was a learning experience to him as a major baseball player. It's just like Anderson. I don't care about the batting averages because his plate patience is awful and he lacks power. Anderson is a better bet than Cedeno. At least he can make the routine plays at his position.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 8, 2007 -> 01:20 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Cedeno is a guy that is a pretty darn good defensive shortstop and I know a couple others have talked him up here. But he's also made a lot of strides down in AAA where he's hitting over .380. Most importantly he's made some strides with his walk rate as well as drastically cut down his strikeout numbers. Plus while he had a horrible OBP and a lot of strikeouts in his major league debut he also hit at least .245 which isn't terrible for a first go round (and he's only 24 years old right now). The only concern I could see with Cedeno is that this is a guy that really came out of nowhere in 2004 and since than he's just gotten better and better with the stick. Cedeno is an awful SS defensively and I find it hilarious you think Anderson is overrated yet project Cedeno to have some success in the major leagues. First full season in the MLB (2006): Cedeno: .245 .271 .339 .610 Anderson: .225 .290 .359 .649

Mark Buehrle Agrees to 4-yr, 56 mil with escalator clause

So how much cash will we have to send to Boston to offset some of the salaries between Buehrle and Wily Mo Pena? -

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 8, 2007 -> 03:41 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've been waiting for the Buehrle deal to get done before finishing the 40 man version. I'll post the updated set tonight. Fix Jermaine's salary as well. He got a raise to $7 million for his World Series MVP. Glad the Sox made the right choice. This was really a no-brainer. -
Hawk said it was just Mark saying goodbye for the all-star break. Only Jenks is going so the guys aren't going to see each other for 3 days.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 8, 2007 -> 03:06 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> '05: .297/.320/.458/.778 '06: .342/.365/.525/.890 '07: .272/.312/.414/.726 He's walked a grand total of 49 times in his career which has led to an IsoD (OBP-AVG) of 27 which is absolutely terrible. His power has actually disappeared altogether this season, he only has 5 HRs and his doubles (according to MLB.com) have mainly been ground balls down the lines, not a lot of drives deep into the gaps. So he doesn't walk, doesn't hit for much power, gives you a nice average, plays poor defense and has average speed. I'd rather just find a poor defensive, semi-athletic LF and stick him at 2B. He'd be cheaper to acquire and could give you similar production. Like Greene, Cano's road splits interest me. .333 .361 .510 .871

QUOTE(NYSox35 @ Jul 8, 2007 -> 03:02 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I disagree. We do both at every Yankees game and I think it's a nice tribute, especially considering what is still going on in the world. It only takes an extra minute and they still do Take Me Out to the Ballgame right after. It's not our national anthem, why show it the same respect? If they play "Courtesy of the USA" or "Born in the USA" would you stand for it? Does baseball think they don't have any atheist, agnostic, or other non-God worshiping religions fans?

QUOTE(stretchstretch @ Jul 7, 2007 -> 01:35 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> here's a peachy stat: It was the most runs scored by one team in a doubleheader since the Boston Red Sox totaled 35 in a sweep of the Philadelphia Athletics on July 4, 1939, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. ....that's a 68yr record broken by a team that is two seasons removed from the World freaking Championship.... First off, 32 < 35 Second of all, with the way it is worded it would've been the Twins who broke that record, not the Sox.

QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 09:20 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I used to have a bunch of wrestling tapes but I gave them away years ago. Wish I had some of them like the ECW shows from 1995 and 1996. If the Ladder Match set ever drops in price, not that it is expensive, I would probably get it. What a bout a DVD with all the War Games matches? Granted, there were only like 8, but you can add Elimination Chamber matches and Hell in a Cell. I bought the ladder match DVD's for $23. That's nothing.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jul 7, 2007 -> 07:23 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, I was totally looking for more realism there Campy jokes huh? Have you ever seen the original show? I(and my 8-12 year old alter ego) thought it was awesome. I don't recall the original show making masturbation jokes, or having Spike act like Richard Prior scared out of his mind. Why would you shoot metal bullets at a robot if it's the first time you ever saw it? I just wished people wouldn't have reacted like nothing was going on when a police car turns into a giant robot. Compare how the characters reacted in Jurassic park even though they knew they were going to be seeing dinosaurs. Sorry, this movie sucked hardcore. The 1986 cartoon was way better.

Holy crap, Transformers was bad. The first 1:15:00 was nothing but campy jokes that were on a level lower than "Not another Teen Movie." Am I the only one who thinks it completely f***ing crazy to see people's natural reaction to a living cyborg be shooting the bejesus out of it with bullets? By the end of the movie it started to look like a GM commercial as I was just waiting for the "Magic Carpet Ride" music to kick in. The Camaro looks better than a C6 Corvette, but not a C5. B)
