White Sox vs. Phillies, 6/12/07 (L)

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 12, 2007 -> 06:52 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Its good and predictable to hear Hawk start with the injury excuses. Pods goes down.....Erstad goes down.......Ozuna goes down.............Crede goes down.........You lose your speed and power. Good to know that the Sox success hinges on an almost always injured not very good Pods. A usually injured had a tough time finding a regular job Erstad, a six year minor league free agent Ozuna, and a guy with known back issues in Crede. Perfectly summed up. I'd like to see Hawk react to the description of the players that you gave. Two things since I can't see the game: 1. Was Rowand HBP a typical Rowand HBP where he stands so close to the plate and gets hit in the arm? (originally refering to the first one. How about the second one?) 2. What was Iguchi's error like? -
Actually I wouldn't doubt if Vince survives this and admits he planted it. All the wrestlers would be in mourning, and then he comes back expecting everybody to love him. HHH survived getting dropped while in a car, and they could just take something from "Casino" on how he survived.
-
LMFAO! What a stupid ending. Now all we need is a whodunnit storyline to boost Vince's ego. Rikishi's return? HHH? Vince McMahon himself? "IT WAS ME AUSTIN!!!!"
-
I have been expecting since his announcement for Steve Austin to come down the ramp interrupting Vince McMahon's promo about how everyone hates him and can kiss his ass ending with Steve stunning him

HE gone!

QUOTE(WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jun 11, 2007 -> 08:45 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Any other organization would have gotten rid of Walker a long time ago. The Indians fired the legendary Eddie Murray in 2005. How did that turn out for them? How much did it cost them for waiting too long to make the move?

QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ Jun 11, 2007 -> 09:22 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thome didn't play tonight. Pay attention to the games, don't just bury your head in the stat sheets. I watched the game, and it was a small joke towards your obsessiveness about our middle of the lineup. Even if I was looking exclusively at stat sheets, I would've seen he wasn't in the lineup. Speaking of stats, have you found any to support your case or are you still relying on others to do your work?

Non-tender Crede, or give him at least $4 million to hope he perform big in a free agent year like a certain right fielder???

/bring back foot fetish Snitsky like, right now.

QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ Jun 11, 2007 -> 08:52 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Vazquez pitched pretty well tonight but once again the Sox offense, particularly the guys who were expected to carry the team, did absolutely nothing. Thome didn't even get on base tonight!

I miss the days of the offensive teams that resembled a softball squad. This offensive is boring and painful to watch.

This offense sucks. Seriously, it's been 2 months and a week. How come nothing has been done? -

I wonder if Jermaine has been reviewing tapes to figure out what he's doing so differently from last year. -

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jun 11, 2007 -> 07:24 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They aren't going to catch Cleveland and they have a few teams to jump over for the wildcard. I don't think they can win unless a miracle happens and the bullpen can get someone out. I have a feeling KW is not going to want to admit failure however. Buerhle should bring a nice package. Dye could bring something back as well and save money. They actually would have more money to throw at Buerhle this offseason the sooner they deal him. If he's serious about being here that is. I wonder how its going to go over on this board when he signs with the Cardinals and at his introductory press conference says St. Louis is the place he always wanted to be. He came out and said "blame me. I put this team together." Sounds like the opposite of what you are asying -

The farmer who accused Juan Uribe of shooting him during an altercation last year received a payment from the shortstop as part of a settlement ending legal action against him, a lawyer for Uribe said Monday. According to the report, Uribe paid $25,500 to make the case go away. "The complainant dropped the charges and recognized that Juan was not involved in the incident," lawyer Maria Luisa Guzman told The Associated Press. So this asshole takes the money after admitting Uribe wasn't part of it. -

As much as I rag on Erstad, Rollins is the king of grindouts. John Dewon says 84% of his groundballs are hit to the right side. That's the highest percentage in the league. I'd put the shift on him with the third baseman playing in to prevent the bunt. -
QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 08:06 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Pure title info... 3 rope breaks per wrestler. Once they are out, they cannot rely on the ropes to break a submission or pin attempt. Strict 20 count on the floor. No closed fists to the face. First time is a warning, second time that wrestler loses a rope break and if they have none left, they are DQ'ed. Closed fists to other body parts were permitted but none to the face -- slaps and thrusts were okay. The Pure Title could change hands on a DQ or count out to make sure that they would very likely be a clean, pure finish to the match. The reason they got rid of the belt is that Nigel McGuinness was a genius with it and did damn near everything that they could with the belt and it really established him as a very talented wrestler in his nearly year long run. That's actually a great concept for a title belt. Too bad McMahon is in the "entertainment" industry and not the professional wrestling. QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 10:25 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Seriously though, news on the ROH PPV? I'm still interested in getting it. If you think Orton's chinlocks look weak, you aren't watching wrestling. Whether you think rest hold are boring or not, Orton actually makes those holds look legit. Talk to anyone who has been trained. The chinlock is a weak looking move and he uses it too much. I don't know how many wrestlers you have talked to, but I have not gone to any indy shows to ask wrestlers about Randy Orton. I will give him credit and say his headlock and chinlocks are better than Sid's.

The company CEO will be making a visit on Thursday. If I happen to meet him how should I address him? "Chairman," "Mr.," "your greatness," or just plain ol' "Bob?"

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 01:17 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thats utter bulls***. Maybe we would have maybe we wouldnt. But your basicly going with would the difference between Carlos and Pods offensively outdo the difference between Iguchi and whoever played 2B. Even though 05 was the one season Pods was actually good for us he did miss 30 or so games and if I remember had a less than spectacular 2nd half. Iguchi had an avg. season nothing special, just did good dealing with having Pods running all the time for better or worse ahead of him. Willie Harris probably would have been the starting 2B if not Iguchi and his numbers really arent that much worse and who knows what they would have been like if he was an everyday player. Without doubt less HR's but possibly more SB's, and similar OBP. Infact in 04 when Willie had a good amount of ab's and games he put up an identical OBP. Funny, because FOX showed a graphic shows Iguchi's ranks in several offensive categories amongst second baseman (can't recall if it was AL or MLB) since 2005 and Iguchi was first or second in all of them. considering Iguchi pretty much had the same numbers in 2006 I think it's pretty damn silly to say his year was "nothing special." In fact I'd say it's utter bulls*** to say his season was nothing special considering the inconsistent crap the Sox went through the two previous seasons. Willie Harris is not an everday player. In 2004 he had 409 At-bats, which is still not an everday player, and he had one great month to live off of. May 2004: .384/.439/.438 OBP's the other months: .299, .316, .333, .347, .291

Players only Team meeting after the game
santo=dorf replied to southsideirish71's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Maybe nobody gave you an answer because we felt we did enough research to show that Thome isn't a problem to this team. Why don't you look up whatever stats you want? You have access to the same sites I use. I gave you the numbers for the 7th, 8th, and 9th innings along with his numbers with RISP and how they compare to the rest of the league. Give it a rest. RBI's isn't the best measure for offensive value anyways. Nobody gets on in front of him, and the guys hitting behind him aren't earning their paycheck. Why pitch to him knowing how big of a difference maker he is? It's just like Barry Bonds. -

QUOTE(mr_genius @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 06:08 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> not all popular bars play that this type of music. i guess the yuppie bars probably do. I went to a country bar (Iowa) last night, and they were playing lots of Eminem and the Akon and Gwen Stefani song. Back home urban bars, yuppie bars, college bars and hole in the wall places with jukeboxes where the customers pay for the songs all play this stuff.
