I've heard of people getting ticketed for LEGALLY turning right on a red, and how someone else could be driving the car but the car's registration's holder will be the one to receive the ticket. Get rid of them. I can't imagine what they cost and how many tickets have to be "written" just to pay them back.

Sorry, but we don't really know that especially with this changing market. I am aware of much more established starting pitchers getting great deals, but what are you basing those numbers on? What's wrong with keeping him hungry, especially for a guy with such a shaky track record?

Sure you can. They were buying high on a guy giving him a long term deal when he wasn't a free agent for year to come. Same thing with Gavin here. Why not pay him the minimum for 1 more year to see if last season was abnormal or a sign of better things to come?

It's still a complete waste of cash. If I bought a bunch of stocks in a company that would completely collapse 6 months it would be a bad deal no matter how many pennies on the dollar I spent. Don't think Cleveland regrets the deal they gave Travis Hafner? What about the Royals with Angel Berrora? But, but he was the rookie of the year! It looked so good at the time.

So how wouldn't Youk have suffered the injury if he was playing regular spring training ball? The only injuries I can see coming out of the WBC are overworking pitchers (they have pitch count rules,) and some hard nosed baseball with high slides into second or diving in the stands for a foul ball. Now I haven't seen much of the WBC this year, but I don't recall seeing much of the previous two mentioned during the last WBC, and there was only one major injury.

Why must health care be so difficult in this country? I have insurance through my company, but to my understanding I am responsible for the first $1200. I do have a HSA card where I can contribute $2800 of my own pre-tax money, and my company gives us $700, but I still don't feel like it's enough to offset the costs of seeing a doctor for 15 minutes, going to the dentist, or having to take some one to the ER at 4:30 AM.

If you were running an MLB team I highly doubt you'd want reports that said "yo, this guy is the shizz." People need to learn how to properly write papers, put together presentations, and use spreadsheets. You can get that education at a community college. Places of business will offer classes or refreshers as well, but if you were running a business, why would you want to pay for someone's classes like that if there are a 1000 other candidates that already know how to use them effectively?
