I saw Slumdog last night and aside from the goofy dance number during the credits, I thought it was fantastic and was the third best film I saw this year behind TDK and WALL-E.

LMFAO No, I don't think he will win either.

It's pathetic to see Twilight mixed in with the great moveis they just showed

I'm guessing that came right before the picture of him looking at the sky.

I will admit, that does look pretty weird.

Will the AL Central survive the next 10 years?
santo=dorf replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I know not all the teams sell out their games, but I love how large the league. Honestly I wish there were six divisions of 6. It would give me a reason to travel to a state. I don't know if I'll ever go back to Kentucky or TN, but if the Sox played a series there I would. -
Honestly, you can look at about just about any player and see their numbers are way better when the are "in the catbird seat."

What a f***ing tool:

My problem is how people start honoring Crede for his efforts by calling him the next Brooks Robinson or saying he's as good or even better than A-Rod. The way Sox fans talk about him is very comparable to how Cubs fans talk about Kerry Wood. There are still people who talk about "Kid-K's" 20k game like it happened yesterday. I really hope in 2015 people aren't doing the same thing with Joe. How many people remember that after Crede's walk-off home run the Sox lost their next two games? I think Sizemore losing the flyball in KC was the back breaker that year.

Elrock and greg775 disagree.

"f*** the Bears."

A 93-year-old man froze to death inside his home

If there was an error, are you going to start calling the bank people "murderers?" -
To be honest I've been waiting for a "How bad was Bush?" poll.

You're in the wrong thread. This is about Crede signing with the Twins. As it was stated earlier, the Sox did not offer arbitration to Crede. I honestly can't recall if there was a recent change in the CBA about this, but teams can't negoitate or sign a player until May if they don't offer the player arbitration. It happened with the Astros and Roger Clemens. If this is still in the contract, there's no point in even considering Crede an option for the Sox at third base. So far in this thread I have seen "Crede is a health concern, and his hitting style isn't a good fit for the Twins." That has been countered with "OMG he's clutch. Don't you remember 2005? Can we please do all we can to avoid turning the 2005 Sox into the 1985 Bears? Did anyone really feel backstabbed when Jim McMahon was in a Super Bowl with the Packers?
-
How about this: Crede's back won't let him match numbers he had in 2005 or 2006? Or, Crede's new "home" is a place that doesn't suit his hitting style nor has he had much success there?
-
Jose Contreras carried the 2005 team down the stretch and through the playoffs more than anyone. August: 3-1, 2.14 ERA, 1.19 WHIP September: 6-0, 1.99 ERA, .99 WHIP He was a lock for a win everytime he took the mound. Like whom? Matt Guerrier doesn't count because he never played for the Sox.
-
Jeez, I completely forgot about him honestly. Make him the longman

Freaking computer keeps crashing. You beat me to it. Here's what I was trying to post. Take a look at the Twins' signings of veteran MLB players these past few offseasons: 2008 Season: Adam Everett: 1 year, $2.8 million: 48 games: .213/.278/.323 Mike Lamb: 2 years, $6.6 million: 81 games: .233/.276/.322 released in September. Twins are paying for most of his salary to play for the Brewers Livan Hernandez: 1 year, $5 million: 139.7 innings: 1.63 WHIP,5.48 ERA DFA in July They also traded a Cy Young candidate for a guy who can only hit the Sox. If KW pissed away that much of our budget and giving away our ace for garbage, we'd be calling for his head losing the division on the last day of the season. 2007 Season: Sidney Ponson: 1 year, $1 million: 37.7 innings, 1.89 WHIP, 6.93 ERA released twice in May. Ramon Ortiz: 1 year, $3.1 million: 91 innings, 1.40 WHIP, 5.14 ERA DFA in August 2006 Season: Tony Batista: 1 year, $1.25 million: 50 games, .236/.303/.388 released in June. Ron"DL" White: 2 years, $5 million: 2006: 99 games, .246/.276/.365 2007: 38 games: .174/.235/.321 All that wasted cash and all they have to show for it is Dennys Reyes How exactly does Slow Crediocre fit in with their style of play? Can't run, lost his fielding ability, can't bunt and he his a TON of pop ups. I can't wait to see him fail.
-
Please shut up about it. We didn't ofer arbitration so I believe we can't negoiate with him until May.

Thome Felt Worn Down Near the End of Last Season, Feels Good Now

So bad defense > No defense. Holy crap that is idiotic. THIS IS NOT LITTLE LEAGUE WHERE EVERYONE HAS TO GET TO PLAY THE FIELD. Don, was Frank Thomas "worthless" in 2000? -

Because that's completely idiotic. The DH position was created for older players to continue in their careers. LAA didn't use the DH spot like you mentioned as Vlad, Anderson, Hunter, and Matthews are not speedy slap hitters. They had to rotate those guys because they put themselves in that position with that dumbass contract they gave Matthews Jr, and then signing Hunter to a huge deal. If Ty Wiggington is capable of playing so many positions? Why in the world would you waste him at the DH spot? The DH is for players who can NOT play more than 1 position in the field. You've managed to contradict yourself twice in the same post. -

No kidding, especially when the guy is tops for OBP on our team. this isn't Owens or Erstad we're talking about here. -
I have to say, I wasn't that impressed by "Dead Poets Society." Why must Robin Williams always get a scene where he does really quick impressions of people?
