  1. I was rooting for them as I felt for NY, rooted for the AL, like dynasties, wasn't too big on yet another expansion team winning a world series before us, and Luis Gonzalez was having a totally roided out season.
  2. HAHAHA That's like saying "I think we should re-elect George Bush to end the war in Iraq." Not possible. Not going to happen. Hypocritical.

Frost/Nixon had $25 million budget. Gran Torino staring and directed by Clint Eastwood should have been wide on day 1. Why did Changeling release wide 1 week after its limited release and Torino, which had better reviews, had to wait much longer? I don't think The Wrestler should have been released on 3000 screens back in December, but the $50,000 average per screen when it first came out says it could've debut in quite a few more markets.
  5. I always felt he would be, but now looking at the overall numbers and the BALCO case, I'm quite skeptical Never a good defensive second baseman as it was always talked about moving him, and he has 6 slightly above average seasons before he started hitting behind Bonds. Then he had 5 monster seasons playing with Bonds and BALCO, including robbing a 2000 MVP from Todd Helton, but aside from that monster 2000 season, he's only been in the top of offensive categories for RBI's which shouldn't be a shocker with Bonds' monster OBP in front of him.

I noticed that on boxofficemojo and thought that was weird. I remember seeing it advertised as going "wide" on January 23rd, but that still isn't enough. What advertisments has there been for this movie? Why do companies do limited releases with big name stars in it? I watched it online a few weeks ago, but saw it yesterday in the theatres. We were planning to see Slumdog Millionaire, but the showtime was closer. BOM defines: wide: 600+ Very Wide: 2000+ Saturated: 2500+ Very Saturated: 3000+ Just got done watching Next with Nick Cage. Good lord what a clusterf*** of a movie.
  7. Somewhere out there on the west coast a Sox fan is "freaking" loving this move.

It's rotten at 59% at rotten tomatoes.com It opened wide yesterday
  9. forgot to get Chris Wooward. Brandon Lyon to Detroit Counsell back to the Brewers Mackowiak to the Mets
  10. Yeah, those are really unpopular shows. :rolly I'm a fan of Steven Seagal.
  11. Then what's up with the MS paint sig?
  12. Again, since when have any of these considered to be popular? This is not just about things you hate. /thread nazi
  13. I didn't know most people didn't have a problem or even enjoy that.
  14. Based on? Link to a study? Link to a breakdown of majors from each school that have mandatory co-op and internship sessions for a degree requirement?
  15. Same here on 24 and Lost, but I was thinking of starting the series after watching bits and pieces of it last night. I just remember when it was first coming on the Sun-Times critic gave it 1 star. I hate old people. Stay off the road, and send younger people to the store to handle your needs.
  16. http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/mets/2009...-with-mets.html we're still getting Pedro and Lyon right?
  17. Most? I don't know about that. The arguement is for internship to be requirements for graduation instead of behaviorial "science" classes or even specific humanities classes (western, non-western.) I know some business degrees require interships after all the coursework is completed. My brother is in Western's police program and he started an internship this week after finishing up his coursework last semester. He also did an internship a couple of years ago through family contacts. They don't teach that in college.
  18. I was shocked to find out how much engineering interns get paid. It's more than people with BA in fine arts. Also, those summers count as full work years which allows some more options with your 401k and retirement.

It's like Forrest Gump except for being mentally retarded, he retards physcially. It was a good movie, but not an Oscar worthy contender. What I was dissapointed with the most with the movie was near the end where he shirnks back down to a child. Shouldn't he have looked like a 5 year old in an 80 year old's body? I wanted to see a 5'6" tall infant. Best movie of the year nominees Rotten Tomatoes/Metacritic scores: The Reader: 60 (1 percentage point from being "rotten)/58 The Curious Case of Benjamin Button: 72/69 Milk: 92/84 Frost/Nixon: 91/80 Slumdog Millionaire: 95/86 snubs: The Wrestler: 98/81 The Dark Knight: 95/82 Wall-E: 96/93 (what is the point of having a category with only three nominees?)
  20. Omar Vizquel signed a minor league deal with the Rangers Brad Ausmus signed with the Dodgers 1 year $1 million Henry Blanco signed with the Padres 1 year $750,000 Jeff Kent retired update plz.
  21. Brad Ausmus burned the Padres to sign a $1 million deal with the Dodgers. Henry Blanco then signs a $750k contract with the Padres. We couldn't have done that? Is it remotely possible for us to sign I-Rod? He wasn't offered arbitration, but he wants to play more often. AJ could use some more rest and he is participating in the WBC.
  22. Probably took him 2 minutes to read the drivel and he spent the other 8 minutes laughing his ass off.
  23. I play two instruments and still thought my music 101 course at my junior college wasn't worth taking and my non-western music class at the University was a f***ing joke. The teacher took one lecture to bring someone in to whine about the Chief. Completely unncessary as he was pushing his agenda throughout the semester. These classes have had ZERO impact on my career, but the same can be said for some engineering courses I completed.
  24. Can you show me a link that compares the two programs? I would've love to skip being FORCED to take a non-western and a western class. I wish I would've been forced to do an internship as an undergrad instead of taking humanities classes. Now as a professional I see how much more an internship benefits the young professional, and like to work with recent grads in fitting in. Today I was asked to help out an intern from Germany next March. I didn't do a summer intership or co-op a semester while in college and kinda regret it.
  25. Ever think that defenses adjusted to him? Is it unlucky when Jim Thome or David Ortiz to groundout to the second baseman in short left field when the shift is on? Why is a soft line drive to the second baseman considered the same as a rocket hit down the line? If people can take the time to record the number of flyballs, groundballs, and line drives, why can't they make note of soft line drives vs. rockets?
