QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Dec 24, 2005 -> 04:58 PM) agreed. I wonder if Qwerty liked Star Wars or Spider-Man. Well I'm bias, but I think Sin City is one of the worse movies ever made. You couldn't pay me 20 bucks to sit through that crap again. AWFUL.
  2. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Dec 24, 2005 -> 05:16 PM) Indeed, sir. I got a Sox BLANKET~! and the Sox Pride DVD. Nice. The DVD is sweet. I got that for xmas from one of my best buds (Think Little Caesars) and I was moved watching the DVD. Reminded me how great the season was and it also got me giddy for baseball to start back up.
  3. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Dec 24, 2005 -> 05:12 PM) A sign that says get out? Its a possibility
  4. I don't know what, but I'm guessing I got some sort of framed picture. Judging by the wrapped frame I see in our main room.
  5. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Dec 24, 2005 -> 02:30 PM) And Boston has a good rotation and a good bullpen? Spare me Gage. Its better than Anaheims. Stoneman is incompetent. I don't think Boston has had a great off-season, but they have added to there rotation and should have Foulke back at 100%. For the record, as of now, I don't think either will make the playoffs.
  6. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Dec 24, 2005 -> 02:36 PM) The Colts are even hanging with the Seattle starters with the mighty Jim Sorgi. Well the Seahawks defense is tearing the Colts D to shreds. This game means nothing, but it should give the Seahawks at least some confidence that they can play with the Colts (even though we all know this isn't the Colts you'll see in the playoffs).
  7. Well Carolina and the Giants lost so that means a Bears win clinches a bye (or thats how i understand it). Lets do it
  8. I am very happy with Ron Turner. For once we shouldn't make any coaching changes.
  9. QUOTE(knightni @ Dec 24, 2005 -> 12:25 PM) Don't the Bears have a tie breaker vs Carolina? We should, we beat them in head to head and thats always the 1st tiebreaker.
  10. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Dec 24, 2005 -> 12:23 PM) If either the Skins or Falcons lose the Bears get a playoff spot. Personally I want Washington to win, because a Bears win+Giants loss+Panthers loss=Bears bye That could all happen. I'm pumped, the only dillema I have is how to get my moms side of the family to leave my dad and I alone while we watch the Bears game at my aunts house (none of them like sports so we always got to pull tooth and nail for the tv).
  11. Man, quite the game going on in Washington. What are the playoff implications here from the Bears perspective? Anyone know. Would a Washington loss help the Bears more? I realize the Giants losing would give the Bears a little more breathing room in terms of gaining a bye, but Washington obviously holds the tiebreaker over the Bears (due to there regular season win over us) if for some horrific reason the Bears were to lose each of the next two games. Basically what I'm getting at (simply because I'm curious) is are there any other ways the Bears can clinch a playoff spot this week (aside from a Bears win or Minnesota loss). I happen to think both of those will happen (Bears win and a Minny loss).
  12. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone here at Soxtalk. Being able to share this magical season with fellow Soxtalkers was great. There have been so many great sports memories from this season. From getting out to the cell a few times this year, to being able to see the Sox win the AL Pennant in Anaheim. And than the unthinkable, with Uribe making the final out in the world series and the Sox hoisting up the Championship trophy. This has been some year. Best wishes go out to everyone here and I can't wait till Fest
  13. The CBS halftime show during the Chargers game showed Johnson's TD but didn't even show the celebration. I wonder if the NFL tells these guys not to give these sort of things the tv time.
  14. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Dec 24, 2005 -> 11:09 AM) That line-up doesn't scare me at all. And besides Johan, either does their rotation (now that Cy Mays is gone). Mays hasn't killed the Sox in some time. Radke is a quality pitcher and the Twins know how to play baseball. They've made some nice little moves and have improved if you ask me. Hell, all they have to do is stay healthy and they are a better team than they were last year. Plus I tend to think Liriano is the real deal and he'll look good in the back of there rotation. They still have a strong strong pen and defensively they still got Torri. Morneau should have a better season. We are the favorites but I could see being more worried about the Twins than the Tribe. Although I think were playing in a pretty strong division.
  15. Giants are looking flat, although they had a big interception on defense for a TD. Tiki has yet to get rolling.

I know this sounds retarded, but I thought it got ridiculous once they went to New York. Sure thats the famous part of the movie, but eh. It was alright, the time they are on the island was pretty cool. I got antsy during the final half an hour or so.
  17. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 23, 2005 -> 02:37 PM) 82 on Sunday here. And its pretty darn sunny right now. We've had a wuss winter thus far, even by my sissy SoCal standards.
  18. Watching a little football at home, helping out with the move as well. Can't wait till tonight, turkey is going in the oven in a few. Yumm.

    Scrooge?

Were in the midst of moving so for the first time pretty much ever we didn't put up a tree. My dad was trying to get my to help him put up lights at the place he's moving to, but I was scrooge and told him I didn't want to get off my lazy ass (he wanted me to do it the day after finals). I said we wouldn't be living there anyway during that time so whats the point. Hell I even stooped to gift certificates for my close family this year. Usually I try to be creative but I was worn out after finals and after buying my dad a DVD player for the new tv he bought, I just gave up. Everyone else in my family is a pain to shop for.
  20. QUOTE(SEALgep @ Dec 23, 2005 -> 07:03 PM) This isn't rumored, but what about sending Garland to Boston for Andy Marte. Ride out Crede for this year, maybe use him for a trade at the deadline, and possibly deal Fields as well. It certainly makes Boston even stiffer competition, but could also make us solid at third for several years to come. Screw that, I'm not dealing to one of our major competitors in the AL and the BoSox are exactly that.
  21. Let me say one thing. There is no freaking way the Cubs would knowingly make a deal where we got Prior. They along with anyone with half a baseball brain knows that if Prior is healthy than the Sox would have gotten themselves a perennial Cy Young award candidate and regardless of how Tejada is doing the Sox would be rubbing that into Cubs fans faces because a Cy Young pitcher is greater than Miguel Tejada. I'm sorry, Cubs should get smart and can Dusty "I kill pitchers for a living" Baker. That would be the best move the team could make to bolster its staff. Just the sheer possibility of Prior staying healthy and turning into one of the best pitcher in baseball for the next 5-10 years is reason enough not to make any deal which would send him to the Sox. By the way, yes, I like Jesus Prior a whole lot. I think he's a stud and I am not one of those people that thinks he's going to be hurt the rest of his career. I tend to think most of his injuries have been fluke injuries. Obviously you have to be careful with him, but you got to realize that Baker drove him worse than a rental car.
  22. I think its a solid move by eac hteams. Of course this all depends on what the Jays can do with there bevy of 1st/3rd baseman. However Glaus is a force in the middle of a lineup. He can hit for 40 hrs if he stays healthy over the full course of a season and the Jays could use a big bat. At the same time Batista goes back to Az. He's a solid pitcher and can close if necessary and Hudson is a good infielder. I don't watch enough of Hudson, but I remember quite a few people always raving about Orlando. I never understood it but I always figured thats probably because I don't watch or pay much any attention to the Jays.
  23. Its pretty short. Not much to talk about with Reynoso or Malone. Both are still incredibly raw. Malone has to prove he can stay healthy and find his release point. He's not the prospect he once was. As far as Reynoso goes he's never shown any consistency or secondary pitch. He does have a good arm though. Tracey is the only guy really worth writing about. Gotta improve the writeups in the future though cause this one really wasn't up to par, imo (I'm slamming myself).
