  1. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 06:57 PM) And I will stand by my statment, I feel bad for you as a gamer. You and "Millions" like you claim, are missing out on the best baseball game that has ever been produced. EA is better at football games (college football owns) and baseball games (MVP rocked). However, ESPN is better at hockey games (at least 2k5, which was just awesome). Haven't played the latest one so I can't comment. Oh and NBA Live (last years edition) was way >>>> NBA2k (horrible camera angles, imo). I just play games I like. for the most part I prefer EA gameplay, that said, ESPN Hockey was one of the best video games EVER.
  2. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 03:17 AM) From Paul's mouth... http://reds.enquirer.com/1998/11/4071.html Monday, November 16, 1998 BY The Cincinnati Enquirer CHICAGO - Paul Konerko was blessed with the quick wrists and powerful forearms that are key ingredients for a big-league hitter. Konerko did not come to the world, though, with ideal hips. But the 22-year-old first baseman, traded by the Reds to the Chicago White Sox last week, disputed reports in the Boston Globe that he has a hip condition that could threaten his career. "My hips don't hurt at all. It's just the way the bones are structured," Konerko said Sunday. "They're no better or worse than they were four years ago. And they won't be better or worse four years from now. "Look, if I had perfect hips, I still wouldn't be stealing 20 or 30 bases (a year). The hips are the least of my problems." "I don't have any concerns," said Sox General Manager Ron Schueler. "If it was legit, how could he be working out four days a week with a personal trainer?" If there was an injury, Schueler could seek to nullify the trade that sent Mike Cameron to Cincinnati for Konerko. It's called degenerative... the same thing Belle has. One day Belle was belting out homers, then next he could barely walk. It's something he has no control over, and cause for concern, IMO, when paying out millions of $$'s. Thanks Steff I was going to ask, I'm assuming the Sox could get this insured?
  3. I remember black jack. I also remember the White Sox beat the Yanks in a game they were no hit in. I think they ended up winning 4-0 but I may be wrong. I'm trying to think who threw the no-hitter against the Sox. I was probably 6 when it happened.
  4. Konerko is 29 years old and I've never once seen anything about his hip anywhere but on message boards. So until I see someone write about it or Konerko himself tell me, I tend to think its an issue that was overly blown out of proportion. Just my 2 cents. He's also done nothing but play the past few seasons. Basically the only time I ever remember him missing games is for the ocassional off-day and his awful 2003 season. Aside from that he's been pretty much steady Paulie ever since joining the South Side (oh and there was the time back in 2000 when the Sox traded for Baines who was going to replace him, lol).
  5. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 09:58 PM) You people have WAY too much time on your hands. Best part you came up in our discussion Nuke. When they claimed a poster was a member of NAMBLA I decided you were that person and that we should suspend you, LOL. Its all about holding the conservatives back.
  6. QUOTE(Soxy @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 09:45 PM) Yep, your a lost cause alright. Its okay tho, were still you're friends! Lol, I figured I'd impress you and tell you I picked up on that use of You're.
  7. QUOTE(Soxy @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 08:52 PM) AAAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't worry Soxy, just give up...Its hopeless, I'm a lost cause.
  8. Damn liberal media...always trying to hold republican NAMBLA members like myself down Your all in cahoots I tell you...cahoots
  9. The best part is I really had no idea bout it. We've been talking in a chat for a while now and they were asking me about NAMBLA. I had no idea what the hell they were talking about so we finally googled it and than finally it comes out I've been had. WOW, I can't stop laughing.
  10. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 05:55 PM) Was my greatest fear in my life about 5 years ago. I used to HATE that. Now I'm not so bad. Just a confidence thing I guess. So now would be a bad time to make fun of your speaking
  11. Try target, sportsmart, etc. A lot of times they'll have sales on that sort of stuff.
  12. St. Clair is going to start at RT. I'm pretty sure he was a former starter with the Rams.
  13. QUOTE(qwerty @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 07:25 PM) Not while playing less than 20 minutes a game... and his zero defensive presence. He's going to continually get more and more minutes. And as he gets into better shape (and trust me he will) he's gonna turn into a beast (i'm talking another year down the road). You highly under-rate the big man though.
  14. Songalia needs to come out, same with Gordon. Both are gassed and are doing all they can to turn it over.
  15. Damn, Sweetney has more low post moves than about anyone in the NBA. If Skiles can help get him into shape...he's gonna be a perennial all star.
  16. QUOTE(SS Gload @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 04:38 PM) Man, I wish this was for MLB instead of NCAA. Is this going to be on the next generation systems? I assume this will be on the Xbox 360 (doesn't that come out pretty soon??).
  17. 19 turnovers through 3...8 in the 3rd quarter. Brilliant.
  18. QUOTE(AirScott @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 05:22 PM) it is the NFC North, 7 games might win it. and though they haven't called for too many downfield passes, the few they have were all overthrows. he's made some impressive throws, and a couple in tight spots (like the one mention above that set up the win), but he hasn't been overly impressive at all, that's why I say it's his job to lose and then it shouldn't take more than 3 bad quarters in a winnable game to lose it. and when you say he was able to overcome his bad throws, it's more like the defense was able to overcome his bad throws and give himself a chance to redeem himself. Disagree, looking at the schedules its coming down to the final game of the season. I expect Chicago to have a 1 game lead on Minnesota, looking for the win to give them the for sure clinch. Minny has a lot of really easy games coming up while the Bears are going to start playing some more difficult teams. That said if Chicago can win Sunday against San Fran and than sweep GB (easier said than done) and they will have 8 wins. Minny isn't a very good team, but they looked a lot better with Brad Johnson. I'm convinced that a Minny loss to any foe worse than them will knock them out. However, Minny has some incredibly easy games and will end up making it at least close.
  19. Can the Bulls learn to protect the f***ing basketball. They are throwing it away all night long. Hinrich's having a strong game though.
  20. This is gonna be a tough game. Golden State is playing a back to back which should help the Bulls a bit, but they are coming off a strong win. This is a much improved team from last year and its a team that in the past seems to play the Bulls tough.
  21. Both her and Smith (the other favorite) are very well qualified. I think the Dodgers will opt for one of the two. The problem is they still have McCourt running the show and unless he's learned from his mistakes and stays out of the baseball stuff, they will have a hard time succeeding, imo.
