  1. QUOTE(winodj @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 01:58 PM) Just so you know, the Highlander is available in hybrid and nonhybrid form. The difference in MPG is about 11 miles to the gallon. If you drive 12000 miles a year. Annual gas savings with an average gas price of 2.20 per gallon would be about 700 dollars. My annual savings would be 2100 dollars. The difference in price is about 7 grand between the two cars. It's not really economical unless you drive 35,000+ miles a year. If I went from the xB to the Prius, id save on average about 15 mpg. My annual savings would be 700 dollars a year driving 36,000 miles a year. The difference in price between the two cars is about 5,000 dollars. It's just not economical for me. In two years though, the prices will be about equal - at least with Toyota. Thats when it will start making sense.
  2. QUOTE(SnB @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 01:44 PM) meh, it's the NFL so the bears do have a shot, you're right. But this was an average team before, now its an average team without a quarterback. They were a healthy Urlacher from the playoffs (potentially) last season. Right now they have a healthy Url, a healthy Brown and a healthy Ogun. That makes the defense better, plus Tommie Harris has a year under his belt. Offensively the Bears have a better oline and a better system. A better WR core (by far), just as crappy tight ends and a better running duo (if Benson signs). This is a better team than last year, which was a team that wasn't that far off to be honest. It wasn't pretty, but the Bears still have a shot.
  3. I wouldn't pay 12000 bucks more for it. In fact I woudln't pay 3000 more for it which is about what it costs now to get a hybrid. Financially it doesn't make sense cause unless you drive a total assload, its going to take way too long to ever reclaim the savings.
  4. I'm also going to email Brooks later on with a few ideas I have in regards to this. But I can't speak for WSI, but I do know that the big thing that hurts a ton of people here is the fact that a heavy portion of the posters here are college students (like you mentioned) and have left for school by than. In my case I'm an out of towner so the only way I can make it is if its a weekend.
  5. QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 01:14 PM) YOU NEVER count a team out in Football before the season has even started. The still have the same opportunity to succeed and they still have to win just as many games. Dont ever call a season a waste just to get Matt Lienart, if we lose on purpose we take a GIANT step back, one that ruins good players.
  6. That 2nd one is sweet.
  7. QUOTE(knightni @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 08:22 AM) You don't think Baj or Tracey would make it through waivers? Ehh.. they might not. But, they aren't exactly BMAC or Jenks. No.
  8. Bmac has been rolling off good starts (his last start he gave up like 4 runs, but I think 2 of them were scored in the 8th inning in a gmae he left with some runners on and the pen gave up his runs).
  9. Delmon is a pretty damn talented player as well, but you gotta love Hernandez arm. You can tell on the most part this is a scouts list so on the most part you see guys who project very highly. Its interesting to say the least, although there are definately parts I don't agree with. Ie, Sweeney and no Young...pffft.
  10. Shoot me a PM with your IP address. My guess is an IP ban was made that could be very close to your IP and because of that its preventing your from logging on. Also, you can try to clear your cache and cookies and see if that helps.
  11. The more I think about it, the more I would be angry if they dealt Chris Young in a package. Now Gio would be another story. I'd give up Gio and a mid tier prospect or two.
  12. Spending 50 million on a draft pick isn't always a great thing. I'd still be a fan of trading down because quite frankly I rarely think its worth drafting a guy #1 overall or really anywhere in the top 5 because you give way them way too much money and tie up the cap thanks to the whopping signing bonuses they get.
  13. QUOTE(beck72 @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 03:37 AM) I guess you've missed Joe's gold glove defense this yr, and the fact that there are few guys for 3b out there to replace him. A three yr deal along the lines of Arow and Uribe isn't out of the question for Crede. The way Ozzie has been gushing all yr about Joe, it's safe to say Crede should stick around for a while Crede will sign an extension or at the very least go to arbitration. I could see him getting like a 3yr 12 mill deal though.

QUOTE(GASHWOUND @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 03:17 PM) Jeez, i got my balls busted the other day by my buddies cause I bought Season 1 of the Thundercats...Uhh, is that weird? I can't be the only one on the board who bought the DVD set, can I I never bought it...but can I Get a Thundercats....HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
  15. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 7, 2005 -> 03:02 PM) Lol, thats cause we all know I'm a huge Haigwood fan. I think him and Rodriguez stand at simliar points and both would be my sleeper picks as well. Hell, I have so many it would be a new pick every day. Also, I think you'll see Donny Lucy produce. Not too shabby. Rodriguez hasn't been as consistent as I like, but I've noticed him making some strides as of late. Haig has been awesome and Lucy has been a lot better this year.
  16. The problem is, its awful tough to get a guy in and teach him the offense this quickly. However, I've always been a Patrick Ramsey supporter and I wouldn't mind the move. Although I do have some confidence in Hutchinson managing the offense in a sense. He's going to have to work on getting rid of the ball quicker though. Still he has a very strong arm and in the preseason has looked very crisp and accurate. So if the Bears are going to get a QB, they better do it fast so they can get some preseason games in first and kind of get the system down.
  17. I can't say how sad I am. I stumbled onto chicagosports.com to read the game recap for the Sox game (had a conference all day today) and see this news. I damn near started crying. I was so excited Rex was finally going to have a healthy season. This kills me, but I do have faith in Hutch. He played well last year and has some damn good tools. Looked good in the 1st preseason game (haven't seen todays) and well if the defense steps up and the rest of the offense picks up the pieces (plus I Think Turner will better protect the vulnerable qb's) than the Bears may be alright, but I don't know well they could do and they could very well tank the season and just suck (but I can't see that happening, the defense is going to win them some games). As far as backups, I'm comfortable with Hutch and quite frankly we may see Orton but it won't be until the Bears are out of the playoff race (if that happens) or if Hutch sucks or if he gets hurt.
  18. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 07:25 PM) You know, I love that prom tux/tie a little more each day. I like how the gun looks bigger than you Alex

Congrats Chisoxy. Some of the sounds like my Anthro class I took on the history of modern language (the lexicon aspects at least). Heck of an accomplishment and you've definately earned a nice celebration
  20. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 06:36 PM) The Aussie; Speaking of which, how did the pictures from when you were in the states turn out?

  23. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 08:44 PM) For knightni and Kalapse... Best piece of work thus far Soxfan. Thats really sharp. Sometimes less is more and this is definately the case with this sig.
  24. QUOTE(SnB @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 07:34 PM) where's my prada bag? To the left of your gucci glasses
  25. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 07:57 PM) You can only hope to contain him.... I'm still waiting for his power to come. In a couple years when he looks (physically) less like Alfonso Soriano and more like Torii Hunter, he's going to be a beast.
