  1. We'd like to make it a board where other teams fans can come and talk in sanction. If people don't wnat to talk to other teams fans (Soxtalk members) then they can simply stay away from this board. However, I always enjoy good debate with other intelligent fans and I think there are quite a few posters on here that do as well. So hopefully we can create some sort of alliance with different sites and work some things out. But this is definately going to be a slow moving work in progress, especially if I'm involved in it
  2. I can't even think of the last time I saw Dye hit the ball hard. I think the only time all year that he has was that soley shot against Cleveland to tie the game up. He just looked miffed at the plate right now. I was watching and if you look at his swing, he's diving out towards the dugout and then at the same time trying to go opposite field. Its really not a good combination. He's got to get that stride fixed because if he continues diving towards the dugout on his swings he's going to be in for a long year.
  3. Willie has looked very sharp in limited at bats. With Pods down I woudln't be opposed to DH'ing Willie and putting him atop the lineup. Hell play Willie in left for all I care. I'm a big Gload fan but right now he just doesn't look right at the plate. Of course its going to be hard for him to get it straightened out on the bench. I do know one thing, the Sox still have some options if Carl is down and playing Gload as a DH would definately work plus I do love the idea of having Aaron up in the lineup. I'd also move Pyrz ahead of Dye and then have Gload behind Dye. But Ozzie wouldn't do that, his lineup ideas when he's playing his bench players are just foolish.
  4. I'm sick of all the negatives, so I'm going to start off with a negative and turn it into a positive. Thus far the Sox offense has flat out blown, but lucky enough its gotten a few clutch hits when needed. Jermaine Dye, Aaron Rowand, Joe Crede, Juan Uribe. I think we can pencil in all 4 of them as dissapointments offensively early on. However, Crede is in the mist of a 5 game hitting streak. Uribe was hitting the ball yesterday, picking up two doubles and looking a lot better. The past two days Rowand has been hitting the ball well and appears to be back to last seasons form. Then you have Dye that has yet to get out of his funk and Konerko may of gotten himself out of his short funk. Plus this team is 6-3 with one of the worse offenses in baseball. That is going to change. The pitching has held up and kept them in games. "Smart Ball" has actually worked and the Sox have executed surprisingly well. There are at least a couple game where runs scored using "smart ball" were decisive in the outcome of the game. Now if what I think I see is happening, I think you'll see the Sox offense waken up. Ozzie should swap Rowand and Dye in the lineup and regardless of that I think your going to see the club score some runs against the Mariners this weekend.
  5. Looks to me like the Bears will get either Braylon or Ronnie Brown, whichever Cleveland passes up. Tampa or Miami will nab Smith and SF Rodgers. Looking good for the Bears. Personally I think the Bears want either Braylon or Ronnie.
  6. Want to quickly welcome aboard the Mariners fans that stop on by. I also want to say I think this could become a pretty cool new feature where opposing fans can stop in here and talk baseball with Sox fans. they can talk about the series, the division or just baseball in general. So welcome aboard to all those M's fans that stop on bye
  7. Great stuff. Arod is a guy I never wanted to see go to the Yanks cause he's a class player and a hell of a talent.
  8. Alright I'll have to listen to the song. 2k's probably right and I've heard it and just never knew the name.

    The Birth Test

#2 - THE PEACEMAKER 2's are the born diplomats. They are aware of others' needs and moods and often think of others before themselves. Naturally analytical and very intuitive they don't like to be alone. Friendship and companionship is very important and can lead them to be successful in life, but on the other hand they'd rather be alone than in an uncomfortable relationship. Being naturally shy they should learn to boost their self- esteem and express themselves freely and seize the moment and not put things off. Famous 2's President Bill Clinton, Madonna, Whoopee Goldberg, Thomas Edison, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Semi Accurate, but other parts aren't cause I got really high self esteem, borderline cockiness, lol.
  13. If the max becomes lower after the new collective bargaining agreement, then I say he gets a max deal. Otherwise I think a lot of people are overvaluing him and he will get close to a max deal, but maybe not as high as some suggest.
  14. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 08:01 PM) Kevin Walker. I'm thinking Cotts is only here because he can long relieve in case one of our starters gets rocked early in a game. It may also have something to do with the fact that Cotts outpitched Walker in spring training, has better stuff, is more superior...do I need to go on? Give it a f***ing rest people, Sox are going to lose games. Get the blame out of the players cause this was yet another piss poor managerial job by Ozzie. At the same time, last I looked the club is still playing good baseball. Get over it.
  15. The Tigs should of been smart and put him on the DL but I think they originally thought the whole thing would keep him out a few days minimum. Hell, they could of had him on retroactive but since he played yesterday there went that idea. It would just be a good insurance for them financially cause if he is banged up the whole year or something then they at least have the option of ending the contract. On the bright side assuming these aren't knee related I don't think I'd be too worried if I were the Tigers.
  16. For that reason I rarely do PITI loans or at least rarely recommend them. I figure as long as the people have good credit and can keep that part straight your better off having the money to yourselves for the whole year and then paying it cause there are plenty of people that can do better things with that money and maybe get a decent return than otherwise. But I also realize it makes it a hell of a lot easier, especially with rental properties which are often times more difficult to keep track of. That and it definately is a lot handier but a lot of the times they collect too much and I'm not a fan of someone else holding onto my money. Out in Cali they hold your property sales now at a ridiculous percent for the entire year until you resell the property (if you have capital gains) and its freaking ridiculous. Most people get at least half of that back. Thats why if anyone ever buys property in California that they plan on flip, I recommend getting an LLC or a Corporation because they can't do that. It went into effect about 2 years ago and its stinking awful. Its the stupidest thing.
  17. QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 07:02 AM) Ok good.. our biggest frear is something wrong with the food. Jason.. I was sure you would suggest the one going out of LA.. I thought it was you that had been to Cabo.? Ya, I was at Cabo once (or Cancun, I forget) but I'm not a fan of going to Mexico at all, LOL. I've had a bad experience there and don't ever want a repeat. Cabo is nice but from what I hear cruises are way better. I remember hearing the food is awesome, all you can eat too and I just think its got to be really cool going to a new island or place every day and spending time there then coming back on the ship at night and doing all the cool s*** onboard. Hell now that I think about it, I don't remember which of Cabo or Cancun I've been too. Edit: Actually steff, after looking at the one out of LA, thats probably the cruise I'd least want to go on, LOL. Matalazan could be interesting but for some reason I think thats because if I recall there is a lot of ancient buildings there from the old civilizations. Can't remember that exactly and I may be thinking of something else. But hell it depends on your alls prefences.
  18. I heard the cazumal cruise is really nice. I have a friend/co-worker that goes on a cruise every year and that was by far his favorite. He stayed on whatever that new ship is (I think it was built like 2 years ago, thats when he went) and at the time I think it was the largets in the world. He said it was awesome. I don't remember which cruiseline it was and he leaves today for another cruise...this one of the panama canal, but were laughing at work because he doesn't even go through the panama canal.
  19. Ya its standard procedure to get the mortgage sold. You can get it flipped so many times it just kind of depends. I've seen loans that within a year have gone through 5 different lenders. As far as the escrow accounts go, as long as you have the statements that show how much PITI you have and then get the tax bill at the end of the year just to see the amount. Tally everything up in like an excel sheet. Talk to someone at the company and then demand your refund. However, I'll warn you, a lot of the times they'll have it a little higher depending on the interest cause you may get supplemental bills and such. But I'm not an expert cause the property tax issues may be different in Florida and lenders may handle escrows differently as well. I know California is one of the few states where the property taxes don't really change every year, its just simply based on the value you paid for the house. As far as lendingtree goes, don't know anyone that has used them. I hear eloan or whatever its called is supposed to be decent. The big thing you want to watch for is that your getting a loan with a hard prepay (which means if you sell the home within a certain time period your going to pay a penalty). Soft prepays aren't too big of a deal (that means you only pay the penalty if you prepay because you refid the property). The other thing you want to check for (if your doing an adjustable loan) is whether the margin is low or not. They could get you with a real low start up rate but have a high margin which forces you to refi once it adjust up (this may not be a big deal, depending on the situation). Really a lot depends on the situations. Adjustables with low start rates can be great for people buying their first house that are quite young. You get to get in the property at a lower payment which means you have money to get furniture and everything else. Plus since your young your income stream will be going up and then as it goes up you can start paying higher payments and the affordablility kind of grows in. Tell me what the rates are judling and on Friday I'll look at some of our wholesale rates. I probably wouldn't be able to get a super accurate comparison because a lot depends on the terms and all that, but I could at least give a ballpark figure. Assuming the cost is low on the loan and your getting a good rate I don't see what would be wrong with going with them.
  20. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 08:10 PM) Some people would beg to differ with that statement...
  21. QUOTE(T R U @ Mar 25, 2005 -> 09:11 AM) Man I love wendys, good thing the only thing I eat from there every time is a Spicey Chicken Sandwhich (Lettuce ONLY) I think ill be finger safe from that... One time at McDonalds when I was like 13 I was drinking my coke and it felt like something was wrong because the straw was being weird and I opened it up and there was a knob to a machine in it.. it was quite weird Wendy's is good. I like the 99cent menu. Chili, Fries, a burger and drink for 4 bucks. The chili is good too, even if every once in a while you get a real bargain and find a finger.
  22. QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 25, 2005 -> 07:06 AM) http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/03/24/chili.fin...reut/index.html Officials: Diner finds finger in chili Thursday, March 24, 2005 Posted: 8:48 AM EST (1348 GMT) SAN FRANCISCO, California (Reuters) -- A diner at a Wendy's fast food restaurant in San Jose, California, found a human finger in a bowl of chili prepared by the chain, local officials said Wednesday. "This individual apparently did take a spoonful, did have a finger in their mouth and then, you know, spit it out and recognized it," said Ben Gale, director of the department of environmental health for Santa Clara County. "Then they had some kind of emotional reaction and vomited." Local officials launched an investigation after the incident Tuesday night and the medical examiner determined Wednesday that the object was a human finger. Officials are trying to determine whether the finger came in the raw materials Wendy's used to prepare the chili, Gale said. Wendy's International Inc. corporate office did not immediately return a call for comment. Wendy's is the third-largest hamburger chain. She got a lot of meat for .99 cents ; On a sidenote, if I think right this is a women thats sued a bunch of chains in the past for similar stuff.
  23. Ya, DL. I'll try and find out when he's supposed to be back for ya Andrew.
  24. The new board seems to be taking off well, but just in case any of you slackers get out of line we added a mod for this board and will be adding one more. So Please give Cwsguy406 a warm welcome. He's been nothing but a fantastic poster since joining the board and definately knows his stuff. Best of all, he thinks I'm a minor league guru and is always asking questions that make me feel more important. So for anyone else that ever wants to become a mod, here's a hint, act as if I'm all knowing and wonderful . Seriously though, Cws is gonna make one hell of a mod
