Scout Seats
QUOTE(Soxfan78 @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 07:39 PM) Nope, they are only avaliable for a full season ticket plan. Thats why they are empty. I dont want to do the math right now, but its a LOT of money... They changed it and you can now buy the seats on an individual game basis. However you have to call the Sox box office to get them (not ticketmaster).

CREDE FOR MVP
QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 07:32 PM) In the past, the Twinkies got ALL the breaks. Nah, they just made the plays and the Sox didn't.

CREDE FOR MVP
Nah, Twins got some breaks with the Rowand call going there way and Torri making up for hit by robbing AJ of at least a double in which runners should of been on 2nd and 3rd at the time. And then yesterday the phantom Contreras balk call. At least thats what the Twinkies announcers were saying. They had no idea what Jose did to balk.

Jay Mariotti
QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 01:23 PM) i still hate him but he at least recognized us as the best team Dodgers are still the best team in baseball, but the SOx are definately playing well. Here's to having the Sox as the 2nd quickest team to double digit wins Now keep those wins a coming

Rookie of the Year thread
Holy cripes...Gordon hits the bucket, Crawford jokes at the line and the Bulls win and get home court in the 1st round. I Think the first playoff game is Sunday against the Wiz???

AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!!
now lets go get Detroit tomorrow

4/18 Games
They won't. There offense is atrocious and the staff is not doing anybetter. I figured the vets like Stewie and Adkins would help that rotation out, plus they have what on paper looks to be a good pen. But that offense...UGLY. And Arnie Munoz has been ugly too.

Twins series attendance???
So there were 27,000 there yesterday? No complaints from me, sure it could be more but thats not bad. Forgive me for being slow on the attendance, but my head has been stuck in books all day (Two tests tomorrow...ugh).

Sox are last in OBP
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 01:37 PM) The crazy thing is it's not just the walks.... The formula for OBP is [H+BB+HBP]/[AB+BB+HBP+SF] The Sox have the most Sacrifice flies in baseball. The Sox have the least HBP in baseball. That combination with a terribly low walk rate, and an overall low average, spell ridiculously low OBP. The good news is they have been getting the sac fly when they needed it in tight games. -- The one-run record isn't 6-1 by mistake right now. -- Even though the Sox overall OPS is low, they rank among the league leaders in IsoP. And I would expect us to finish the season in the top 8 there, (so much for small ball). We may not hit the ball much, but when we hit it, it goes a long way. The one positive I can see from this is we really haven't seen any of the hitters get hot. To be honest I could even make the case that most of them are in slumps. You could make the case for Everett, Iguchi and Konerko having strong years thus far, but aside from that everyone is producing below career levels. You know early in the season that hte odds are that average and production will go up and in turn OBP will as well. It hasn't been pretty offensively thus far, but the Sox have gotten the key hits and little things done when necessary and as cheat says that is why they have the record they do, especially in one run games. And like I've siad for a long time, this team will still hit 200 HR's. The difference is it is semi capable of scoring runs without the homer and while we haven't seen that much yet this year, we have seen it win a couple games. As long as the staff keeps throwing the ball well, I'm not very concerned.

I Love.....

THUNDERSTRUCK RETURNS!
QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 08:45 PM) I think Back in Black is a more fitting intro... but Thunderstruck is a great song nonetheless... AC/DC is on a s***load at the cell, and i aint complaining. I've long wanted the Sox to come out to Back in Black.

Ozzie vs. Frank, round one?
QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 06:18 AM) I don't have a problem with what he said. This is like your boss, going to the paper and telling you to show up to work on Friday with a new attitude. Its pathetic. Ozzie needs to take care of this stuff in house. Give Frank a call and tell him whats up. If a question comes up asking about Frank and his role with the club...Ozzie should simply respond with I gave Frank a call and we talked about it. Its a move we will deal with when he's 100%, until then, I wish Frank nothing but the best in a speedy recovery but Everett is our DH.

Ozzie vs. Frank, round one?
QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 05:01 AM) You took the words right out of my mouth Mike.. Apparently Ozzie wasn't listening when I tore Kenny a new a-hole about this s***. It makes me so sad that Ozzie is so selfish that he needs to make headlines about himself.. my opinion.. HE is the problem and the team doesn't need this distraction and HE should be relieved of his duties. Couldn't agree with you more Steff. I remember you didn't like the move from day one. I was just hoping his motivational skills would prove to be enough but its not going to, imo. He just doesn't get it.

Ozzie vs. Frank, round one?
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 04:18 AM) Four words for Ozzie, which I guess he still can't translate, SHUT THE f*** UP!

The most memorable Rodman moment...
QUOTE(BridgeportHeather @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 08:57 PM) What moment in Rodman's stint here will you remember most? THe fact that he was total ass f***. And the fact that Jordan and Pippen wanted absolutely ZERO to do with him anywhere outside of the court. I will admit he was one hell of a player though.

Bears release Rex Tucker
Kreutz will still be a mainstay but its too bad Rex got the injury bug. He was nowhere close to his former self last year though and this move was just a matter of time.

monday night football to espn
QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 01:44 PM) i'll post it online. i got it off the dorm network, it's solid. Reminds me of all those nba on nbc tripleheader sundays. I used to be so into the NBA when i was a kid I remember those days...it was awesome. NBC was good at football too. CBS sucks.

Tyson Chandler
QUOTE(aboz56 @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 03:34 PM) Tolerance level? Hell he should be happy to play with one of the 3 best players in the league with 3 rings at the still young age of what, 25? I'd be shocked if he wanted to leave Chicago for LA. Chandler is so stinking happy in Chicago it isn't funny. He'll probably get a decent contract from them this year too. Besides that the Kobe love is gone and inside stuff out here says management may be regretting how things went with Kobe. On a sidenote an Odom deal makes zero sense. Just think about what Paxson wants. Odom is the last thing from it, plus the salary wouldn't match up. Do I also need to say that Pax would be an idiot to trade Ad for Odom. Odom is a horses ass and a total POS. This is just garbage from Laker fans who don't realize there team is so screwed because Jerry Buss is a jackass and same goes for Kobe. They are gonna be quiet for a long while, unless they get lucky in the lottery or find someone stupid enough to give them something decent for Odom.

California Question
QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 04:19 PM) California Question, Part Deux... Has anyone ever been to San Diego, because im tentatively planning a trip to check out the Sox while they are down there...1. Does this sound like a good idea? 2. Should I plan on my entire week there or should I take a drive out someplace else while im down there? Thanks and Chisoxfn I'm expecting a response from you!! Yes, go to San Diego. Awesome awesome city. LCR if your reading this, tell your brother to move down to San Diego for the week you visit, lol. Weather will be awesome. I'm going to be going to the 3 games in San Diego. You can go to the Pads games in down town (fantastic stadium) and then afterwards go to the gas lamp district which has bars and all that sort of stuff. Places where you can go and dance too or listen to live music as well, depending on your interests. I try and go there a few times a year and its a total blast. However if you stay in San Diego I'd say spend a couple days there, make sure you go to the beach (its really nice there, Mission Bay). Take a drive out to Coronado Island, very nice. If your interested you can go into Mexico for a day (personally I stay away due to bad experiences there). Then I'd recommend going into Orange County and LA for a day or two to check out the sites there.

Not a good time to be from around here...
QUOTE(farmteam @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 04:24 PM) Did anyone else notice that? And jeez, Heads, good luck man. Are you near the Iowa City/Cedar Rapids area by any chance? Ya, Alex gave me crap for it for like 2 days asking me if I was feeling alright.

Not a good time to be from around here...
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 01:02 AM) I'm from like 50 miles N of CR. Had Prom tonite and had a pretty sucky time. Waste of 130 bucks on the whole, though I did win (another) GameCube at Post Prom. Is that my birthday present Alex???? I mean this Friday is the big day

California Question
QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 03:54 PM) Yosemite is a really awesome place. We spent half of our vacation there when we went to California and it was really fun. The redwood trees were unreal. The park is HUGE. Yosemite is awesome. If you have a shot LCR, you should go there cause my personal stance is San Francisco is one of the worse cities out there. Its filthy and there is nothing to do besides Fishermans Wharf and Alcatraz. I swear you can see the whole city in a day's time.

California Question
QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 11:54 AM) My brother has some frequent flyer miles that he can't use, so he getting me a free ticket to come out and visit him in California for a week in the middle of May. Anyway, since there are some CA people here and its going to be my first trip to California, what would be some good things to see/fun things to do while in the San Francisco area? Check out a Giants game. The stadium is awesome. If the Giants are out of town you can always go to an A's game and just take the bart there. Besides that I'm personally not much of a fan of San Francisco. Fishermans wharf is cool and I've only been there for short time and it was so long ago when I went to some of the museums that I couldn't even tell you if they were good or not.
