  1. This would be great if it happens. We still got to wait till November 12th or so when you can officially sign FA.
  2. By the way, are womens as good as women?
  3. Article Interesting, although I don't believe it what-so-ever, especially considering the author has mentions the Sox looking at shortstop and Randy Johnson. Its pretty clear for them to think that way that their payroll would be a bit higher. He also mentions that the Sox may look to upgrade the catcher position and haven't written off Alomar yet.
  4. Sorry, gotta disagree heavily with you on this one. If it wasn't for the Angels well balanced offense, good defense, and awesome bullpen, they would of been toast. They had Washburn, who was lousy in the playoffs (some Angel fans dubbed him the ace of the playoffs, but he was nothing special) and Lackey (who actually pitched his ass off for a youngster). Minus those two, Ortiz was nothing special nor was Kevin Appier. The Angels rotation that won the series is one of the worse in recent history, imo. Luckily they had Krod, Donnelly, Weber, and Percy.
  5. Another huge difference is Pujols has probably made less then Manny did in his entire major league career (up to this point) then Manny made this year (20 mill). Just saying And I'm a huge Manny fan. I got a lot of respect for a guy that was put on waivers and pretty much told by the Red Sox we don't want you. Yet he still went out and produced like the animal he is offensively. Its like saying your 2nd best to Bonds, nothing wrong with that. Pujols is the right handed version of Bonds (although nowhere near as good, Bonds is in a freaking league of his own...greatest ball player I've ever seen)
  6. So right now your clearly contradicting your argument in regards to Manny. Manny has had a great offensive career no doubt, but his past numbers don't tell me whose better now. Right now Manny is fantastic offensively, one of the best 5 right handed hitters in baseball, but Pujols is the best. Plus Pujols doesn't play in one of the best hitters parks in all of baseball (ie Fenway). Pujols >>>>> Manny
  7. Cool, so it would be what you'd classify as a suburb? Or are they even too far from that. Thanks Crimson
  8. Ya, I don't anticipate anything to happen until after the election. However, I do expect it to happen shortly. January is quickly coming upon us and they are going to have to do what they can to get as many of the insurgents taken care of, imo. Ya, I'm still wondering that. Bush's White House speaker said on FoxNews tonight that they weren't planning any major announcement or anything along those lines. They were going to continue doing what they are doing now (I know I left this open to the other side). I still expect something to come out though from one side or another. Last year around this time, Bush's DUI came up and sent Bush's momentum downward big time.
  9. Ya, I also remember him really showing his stuff in a performance or two against the Sox during that 2nd half. He had great command of all his pitches and looked healthy.
  10. I don't know about anyone else, but I know the writing was kind of on the wall when the British agreed to redeploy some of their troops, but I get the feeling that the US is going to go on an offensive in the days following the election in the Fallujah/Baghdad region. On a sidenote, does anyone want to explain to me where Fallujah is in comparison to Baghdad. I've asked some people because I kind of hear the two cities mentioned interchangeably? If Fallujah like the outskirts or something along those lines?
  11. Trust me, I'm not going to vote for a candidate because of what religion they are. I wouldn't go as far to call myself an atheist, but when it comes to organized religion, I pretty much think its a sham (But I entitle everyone else to their views on it). I long felt their were reasons to go to Iraq and my reasons (some of them at least) were different then the presidents reasons. I'm too lazy to look back at my logs back when the war first started, but I know I posted things along those lines numerous times. I think everything in politics stems from belief and life experience, and so many different things. Although lately I've been a little more harsh, I hope I've kept my attacks on Kerry and stuff I don't see write (I've numerous times attacked and disagreed with the current administration) although lately I've found myself rallying to the president (just like I'm sure most staunch democrats are rallying towards their candidate). As far as the War on Terror, I'd disagree and will say he's made some very positive changes, but I think their is a lot left to do, but I do have faith in Mr. Bush getting the job done.
  12. Ya cause him, Sean Penn and anyone else is so qualified to an opinion. They are no different then me, who happens to post my political opinion here. However, I'd like to think that I'm as smart as them, in fact I'm a pretty confident individual so minus life experience, I'd say I'm smarter then both of em, although nowhere near as rich. But I don't have Sean Penn's acting ability and while I'm white, I can't rap, not at all. I suck as at rapping and come christmas time I have my mom, dad or sis wrap the presents for me cause mine looks like a 2 year old wrapped it
  13. I expect him to play a whole lot once he gets healthy. I do expect him to miss a few weeks early on, but I think he'll be huge for the Sox in the 2nd half.
  14. I still think Milton may not be a bad option if he takes at least a 50% paycut. On a sidenote, I would be so pissed if I was a fan of the Dbacks, they are going nowhere fast. And MLB should be very careful with them cause they are freaking bankrupt up the ying yang.
  15. I was so pissed when I totalled my lowrider and hadn't saved recently. I loved that thing. By the way, how the hell are you guys getting your money cause I'm always like broke. Getting semi far now, still haven't ventured out of LA yet though.
  16. As far as I'm concerned its about damn time. You have Clinton out campaigning for Kerry and Arnold is one of the heavy hitters from the Republican Party and should help their chances in Ohio (if I recall Arnold has some connections in Colombus, Ohio). Now I want to see McCain hit the trial hard. The two of them and of course Giuliani could really help swing the election Bush's way. Also, some new states appear to be in play. You have Ohio, PA, FLA, Wisconsin, New Jerseys (i'll be freaking shocked if Kerry loses here), Mich (I expect Bush to win...I think he'll end up rallying his religious base there, many of which are still undecided in Michigan, well according to Aaron Brown last night), Hawaii (this would be a shocker if it went towards GW), Minnesota, Iowa. Also New Mexico and Arkansas should be mentioned in this list as well.
  17. Want to say something cause I haven't seen it posted and I don't know whether I should make a seperate thread or not. But the Pentagon has released and is going to release more sat photos showing that Iraq was moving something from that base prior to the US's involvement. At this point its nothing definitive, but thus far I haven't seen any definitive evidence on either side. By the way, I don't know if anyone else saw this but last night on Fox News on Greta they had someone on with the UN list of what actually went missing and they reported it to be 200 tons, not the reported 360 or 380. Also APU, I do agree that yes still some of it got away. Right now its ridiculous how much spinning is going on when the facts aren't out there. Thats my stance on it and I've stuck to it most of this time. I'm pissed at the way Kerry blamed the troops and the military and APU, I haven't seen what Giuliani said, but if he indeed blamed the soldiers then right now I'd say thats the wrong thing to do unless he has more info then I do at this point (maybe he does, but I don't think anyone has the whole facts right now).
  18. I tend to agree, I think by the time the two weeks is up, the momentum from your playoff performances in typically lessened, unless of course your Carlos Beltran. I still believe Lowe gets somwhere between 5 and 7 million. The only reason I say 5 million on the low end is because the market for #2/#3 is huge this offseason and it doesn't appear that he'll be one of the first targets. Nor will Millwood, another guy I wouldnt mind. I've long been a Lowe fan though. However, I am starting to buy into some of the arguments about not having 4 pitchers signed long term. However at the same time, I'm a firm believer that you can almost always move pitching and that you can never have too much of it. However, if that pitching is all injured, thats another story, but if a pitcher is still relatively young, has produced in the past, and his healthy, you'll be able to trade him, even if he has a semi bad contract....imo.
  19. If the Pirates didn't have to pick up Kendalls contract then I'd say that deal makes some sense. However, any other way and they would be absolutely nuts to make that deal. I'm a huge backer of Brazoban. He was a steal in the Kevin Brown deal. Dan Evans ran all the way to the bank on that one (Yep, I'm actually complimenting Evans). By the way, just want to add something on David Ross....HE SUCKS ASS. That guy is awful at the plate, although he does have some power potential.
  20. While I think were all aware of Millwoods slide since the 2nd half of the 2003 season, you can't help but look past some of the good numbers he's put up. And it appears that part of the reason for his down-turn were health related (elbow problems). Now he would have to take a substantial pay-cut and potentially a shorter term deal (its unclear whether he would do that) but at the right price he would be a good option for the White Sox. You can't look past his career numbers: 98-64, 3.89 ERA, 1367.1 INN, 1283 H (1.24 WHIP), 1134 K (7.46 K/9). He has also done a relatively good job limiting the long ball in his career. Assuming he checks out physically, he's definately an option worth looking at, especially if teams look past him in the early part of free agency. Plus he's just 29 years old.
  21. Jesus, I didn't realize the Marlins would piss their money away like that. LoDuca has great heart and does some things very well, but he's no 7 mill a year catcher.
