  1. Does anyone think they'd remove DJ? I know a few people made some posts that Hawk didn't like DJ, but I have always thought they got along. Don't ask me though, but I do think Hawk and Stoney would get along quite well. Me, I like DJ. Their are some things he says I don't like, but he seems like a swell guy and he can make me laugh when he's in the booth. But Stone is awesome. Maybe they could try out the three man booth like they do in New York (I'm thinking Boston does it too, but I'm probably wrong on that one).
  2. I think the Sox are hyping Anderson too much, he's not major league ready. He doesn't have near the at bats or the plate discipline, imo. His numbers took at drop as the Southern League came to an end and to be honest, I'd like to see him start the year in Bham for a little longer. I think they would be a disservice starting him anywhere else at this point. However, I would expect an early promotion to Charlotte and their is the outside possibility that he could produce at the major league level this year. In terms of Sweeney, I expect him to make major striders and to be rated as one of the best outfield prospects in all of baseball this time next year. However, it would be ludicrious to expect him to produce at the majors at this point. He doesn't have the experience of facing good, more experienced, minor league pitching yet. He's gonna be really good though....I mean really good. I still see him as a better defensive Garret Anderson. I think he'll be one of those guys that rakes the ball and eventually develops power.
  3. I'd say this is probably his last year under the current contract. Although if Frank plays well this year, it would appear likely that he'll get 10 mill next year. Considering the Sox would have to pay 3.5 mill to buy him out, meaning the 6.5 mill that they would truly be paying Frank (he's gonna get the 3.5 regardless) could turn into a good price. In fact, I look for Thomas to work his absolute ass off this offseason cause if he does, its gonna set him up for some good money. A, he's gonna get 10 mill in 06 and B, he's gonna have a legit shot (assuming he's healthy early enough in the season) to finish in the top 10 in the MVP (also assuming that the Sox add pitching which I think they will, cause I fully expect the Sox to make hte moves necessary to compete for the division/more).
  4. I wouldn't not give Paul LoDuca 7 mill a year. Plus Pudge's situation is a bit different because Javy Lopez was on the market with him and it didn't appear many teams were really looking to upgrade heavy at the catcher position.
  5. I highly doubt he'd accept it, but I remember when Nardi was ousted I was a huge proponent of landing Stoney. I've long thought the guy has an uncanny ability to know and understand pitching. Just watch the games, when he tells a pitcher to throw a pitch and the pitcher throws the pitch stoney called at the location it works out time in time out. I don't know whats up with Coop, but I have had a full 180 degree tilt on the guy, but I do hope he proves me wrong. Their are some things I like about him, but I think I liked him a lot more just beause we were going from Nardi, who was an absolute butcher to young pitchers (the way he treated them).
  6. BoSox will do everything they can to keep Varitek, but at the same time they ahve so many free agents that he could get lost in the shuffle. Don't think for a second that everything is rosey in Boston cause Epstein has two weeks where he can negotiate without other teams being invovled, so he's gonna do all he can to get his guys locked up in this next two weeks. If quite a few of them are waiting to test the waters, then Boston is gonna have to have backup plan after backup plan cause things could get interesting. In fact, I'd consider teh Sox a sleeper in the Varitek sweepstakes, soley because he fits multiple needs (left handed bat, catcher, leadership). I don't think Boston will let him go, because along with Pedro he's probably their key free agent, but its something to take note at. Also, no doubt in my mind that LA makes a prominent offer because I expect Beltre to be elsewhere.
  7. Holy crap, someone pinch me if this happens. First off, Stone in the booth is fine by me. Although Stoney can get a little boring at times, he absolutely adds a great amount of knowledge to the game. But lets hire him as the pitching coach, his knowledge of pitching is fantastic and I'd love him in our organization on that level. He also has some interests in the front office and I wouldn't mind him involved and helping with the minors or whatever else. Steve Stone's baseball knowledge is more then welcome on the South Side of Chicago.
  8. Still, I think it would turn into a thing of status. The last thing I want is people having an ego because their mods or admins or anything like that. I'll tell everyone first hand, the job f***ing sucks.
  9. Ummm, I can think of a guy named Albert Pujols whose just a bit better rigth handed hitter. And their is no arguing, Manny Ramirez is a sub-par defensive outfielder. He's lucky he plays left in fenway otherwise his absolute atrocious fielding would be magnatized. Damon...its a given he's a got a horrible arm, but he's got great range. As far as Mueller goes his defense has been going downhill, I'd call him average at the very best at this point in his career.
  10. Hey, my big f, I guess I'll take it back, but I was pissed. He's taking shots at our soldiers and I don't appreciate it or at least thats how it comes off to me. Anyway, from what I see in this article that airborne found the weapons not knowing they are there. They find them and realize they can't secure the area cause they didn't have the troops (remember, this group wasn't originally their to secure the region so I don't want to hear about them not being equipped properly). I don't know what happeend after that. I'd like to hope that they passed a relay to a commander who sent something and they were going to send a crew to destory the weapons. Thats what I'd of liked to happen but right now I still don't know what happened. Did the commanders just not do anything? I still don't know how exactly this gets directed to president Bush, since he's not actually on the battlelines, but thats me. I think now that they found out about it and how this went down (if it turns out no one ever was contacted to secure the weapons after they were found) then I'd say their is a communication problem that has to be addressed and solved, but at the same time, you expect slipups to happen. At least I do. 1/10th of 1% of all the weapons we destroyed in Iraq, thats the amount that was in this bunker.
  11. To be honest I'm not much of a fan of it for one reason. I like the idea but I don't want to see this stuff turn into a popularity contest. I'm more then willing to listen to ideas, but at this point I'm very happy with the mod/admin team. Some things could still get better, but hell, I like the site
  12. I like Everett as a DH, not as a RF.
  13. Guys, so 1/10th of 1% (This is according to what I saw them say on CNN last night...not FoxNews) of the weapons dissapear because our intelligence didn't know they were there. If that turns out to be the case I don't think that makes our intelligence look incredibly horrible. Lets put things in perspective, their are always going to be slipups, thats why their is not one thing you can do to prevent another terrorist attack, you can only try to prevent them and do what you can to remove as many al-quaeda and other terrorist group ties as possible. WAIT For the Facts, thats all I'm saying. I think I've heard the Bush administration say this a few times and I know the Defense Department has said they are going back and reviewing these tapes.
  14. Right now the Defense Department has said they are going to be looking through their tapes to try and figure out when this shipment was moved. They just need more time. Thats why I've been saying Wait for the Facts to come out before making any judgement. And since as of now their are like 20 different stories going out, why make a judgement and why campaign about it.
  15. If people break up over religion then why not politics. In a sense both have a heavy basis on your own personal beliefs. For example, I could never go out with a really really christian girl, one that didn't accept the fact that I didn't go to church. I don't like anyone that forces god onto me.
  16. Well maybe American Citizens, but the military should be fine because they use military connections which I'm sure would be accessible. For example, at least on the old stats thing I had for this site, I could see Military logons and what not.
  17. This doesn't have any fact. Show me that these are those weapons. Right now I see no evidence of that they are just spinning it. Right now all thats there is is spin and I'm waiting till I see concrete evidence. I say a lot of "mays" in that article.
  18. Me too, I figure they must read Soxtalk and already know were voting for Bush
  19. Interesting, very interesting. If this is indeed what happened, then I am going to say one thing...f*** YOU John Kerry. Your bashing president Bush, but really the message your sending when you point the blame on our troops losing those weapons is your putting blame on American Soldiers. I find it funny how his top advisor even says we don't know the facts yet he's going out campaigning the hell out of this issue. We'll see though, cause I'm still a sceptic in whatever happened. I still find it funny almost no one is mentioning that this so called armorment was just 1/10 of 1% of the weapons we have destroyed over in Iraq.
  20. Only twice in my life have I ever gotten one of those recorded calls. The first time it was George W. Bush and I must admit when I first answered the phone and heard his voice I was like wtf (this was a few years back) and the 2nd time it was the Governator....aka Arnold
  21. Surprisingly I saw Castro hit 95 when he was down in WS this past season. Although from all indictations WS has a tightly wired gun. He didn't look too bad though when I saw him. I still like Josh Fields as a reliever, his peripheals are sick.
  22. No, I never said that. I don't give a s*** if they try to register voters, but they should put the pressures of who they vote for. I'm all for people registering to vote. I've been saying the whole time, if your a republican don't tell them vote for Bush, tell them to get educated and that a couple weeks before the election (obviously you wouldn't tell them this part now) that you'll get a pamphlet with info on it and then check out the website of the candidates if you got a little more time. I don't give a damn if its a dem or republican registering, I have a problem when they spew their personal opinion on people trying to register. I'm just saying leave the opinion elsewhere.
  23. Bryant Nelson and Ryan Hankins but I expect both to be back with the organization, especially Hankins. However, Nelson could have a better major league shot elsewhere. Both of them are awesome guys and no matter where they are I wish them nothing but the best.
  24. I did that one like twice last night and then gave up for the night. My bike would go to slow at times. When the train comes just go to the right and your fine. The only thing i have problem from is Big Smokes has the worse aim ever. And that OG guy, god he needs to shut the hell up. By the way, was anyone else shocked when they heard the swearing? I never expected all the vulgarity, but I love it.
