  1. Well, since Konerko himself said he wonders whether he will be back next year, and with the Sox trying Gload quite a bit, it seems obvious that the Sox are going to make a few major shakeups. Konerko may or may not be a part of them, but you have to think the Sox are going to at least consider it, especially with his trade value at its peak. Here's a few teams I can think of that would have some interest: Anaheim (they want to add some power and Erstad is likely going to be gone, they seem to be down on Kochman a bit, although I don't know if they would include him in a trade). Los Angeles - They were interested in him before and could be interested in him again, but they have a lot of in house guys (Gagne, Beltre, Perez, etc), so I highly doubt they would add him. Boston - They have a ton of free agents and could have interest in Konerko, although personally I don't see why Boston would add more offense. However, Johnny Damon and a good prospect would be something to at least consider, imo. .311 AVG, .388 OBP, and 30 years old. Steals are a bit down, but plays stellar defense in CF (has a weak arm though) and along with Rowand in RF, would help the Sox defense. New York - They could definately enter the sweepstakes if Giambi turns into a long term concern, but I don't necessarily see it happening nor do I see them being a good fit via trade (what would they offer us???). Its not like they would deal Matsui for him. Atlanta - Could definately use a first baseman and has some players the Sox could be interested in. Could Rafael Furcal and Juan Cruz be part of a package deal, I know I'd be interested. .291/.358 with 24 SB just 4 CS. Known to make some errors, but has good range and a cannon for an arm. Cruz would fit in very nicely in the bullpen, potentially as a right handed set up man. 6-2, 2.70 ERA and he's been dominate the last two months or so as he appears to be getting very comfortable. Just 25 years old, while Furcal is 26. Sox would save a bit of money as well. Baltimore - Gibbons is struggling, Palmerio will play how much longer? Don't know if they'd be willing to give up some of their young pitching though. However, Jay Gibbons would be a nice bat to acquire, especially if his value is down. He's a strong, good left handed hitter, imo, who has been hampered by injuries this year. A guy worth taking a chance on. San Francisco - Snow is going to be gone and they could use a legit hitter to give Bonds some protection. Konerko has done a solid job in the cleanup spot this year and would fit in at first. San Fran has some quality young pitchers it could give up. However, I think it would be more likely that a deal with the Giants would be a 3 way type deal. Personally I'd love to get Furcal and Cruz on the southside. The Sox have showed interest in both guys in years past and would be tremendous fits, imo.
  2. I was thinking this was something the Sox were thinking about, especially with Gload playing quite a bit in Anaheim and I expect to see him getting a ton of playing time the rest of the way. If he stays strong, while playing pretty much everyday the rest of the year, I think the Sox will take a chance on Gload at first. First baseman can be acquired if things don't work out. Gload is an above average defender, good baserunner, and a left handed bat for the back part of the lineup. He's the type of guy the Sox could use and Konerko could not only get some legit talent in a trade, but also free up a little more payroll for the Sox to add pitching, another outfielder and whatever else is necessary. I'm not at all against this move and I've been a big Gload backer since I saw him in Charlotte about two years ago. I just love his approach at the plate and what not.
  3. That was freaking beautiful. I still have my doubts on this team though, but a great win regardless.

I think their is a lot more stuff on a secondary level that is a lot harder to pick up, but I think Asshat got the main theory. Then you can go more into it if you want I guess. Seems like a lot of people have. Its a good movie.
  5. Ya, the problem with Tempe Diablo is it doesn't have the mnior league facilities that TEP has. To me TEP is as nice of a park as any of the others. Surprise is very nice as well as are the Brewers facilities, Padres/Mariners, Giants, etc. Hi Corbett and Oakland's are two places that I'm not much of a fan of. Hi Corbett is frankly a dump.
  6. Their is definately hope, but lets see what happens in the offseason. Sox seem to be preparing themselves for a busy offseason and have been giving a few hints that they got some ideas and a definate plan in mind. Attendance was up this year and JR and the other owners seem to be willing to up the payroll a bit. I feel a lot better for the franchise today, then I did last year at the end of the season.
  7. Cool, so its still a work in process, but it seems to be moving forward. So I guess their is at least one more spring training, probably two more in Tuscon before the change. I love TEP, but I am not a huge fan of Tuscon, so it will be awesome whne they are in the Phoenix area, cause then its pretty much a short drive to all the other games (minus the few teams in Tuscon).
  8. I know this was rumored, but supposedly Dallas Morning News reported it as being announced or something and that the ANgles are building a new facility. Has anyone else heard that its 100% or is the post I'm seeing at WSI complete bs? I'm going along the lines that its bs, soley because I haven't seen anything in the LA Times this weekend about the Angels switching facilities or anything.
  9. Met Baj before the game. Then was pumped when he got to come in. He did his job, threw strikes and that infield hit was an absolute horsecrap of a call. Uribe should of field it and to me it was an absolute routine grounder. He pitched Eckstein perfectly, induced the weak grounder and Uribe rushed it and made a bad play. For whatever reason it was ruled a hit. Then Crede did a garbage job reading the ball later in that inning, the one where Anderson ended up driving in the big runs. Crede stood their and then the ball just moved right over his head and hit the top of his mit. He had a long time of just standing their and he just misread it.
  10. Actually, numbesr wise, you could very easily make the case that Wing was the better prospect. I'm just talking straight numbers, he was absolutely dominant at Winston Salem last year. Insanely low number of hits to innnings pitched and a good strikeout rate (albeit not as good as Honel's).
  11. If I recall, it was Olivo and Crede and when they were willing to take Reed instead of Crede, Kenny jumped all over it. He was going to deal Crede and Olivo, but if that were to happen he was going to make it contingent on Freddy signing an extension. In hindsight, I'd of been much happier dealing Crede, but how the hell were we supposed to know he was so damn stubborn and what not.

Hopefully I can bring some good luck. Is anyone else in the Cali area gonna be at tonights game? I'll also be at tomorrow nights game.
  13. While the Cubs definately screwed up, that other guy is a f***ing dick. Thats the problem with America today, well one of em. This guy just expects to keep 300,000 because it was accidentally put in his account. Listen prick, you didn't earn that money, its not your money, give it back and quit your whining. Just sign some statement that says if for whatever reason they charge you taxes on that money (the government) that the Cubs are fully responsible in taking care of it.
  14. f*** it, go Noles...I hate the Hurricanes.
  15. Probably not all that good, it seems Florida is going to make a run at keeping him. I'm starting to jump on the Pavano bandwagon. I'm leary soley because he has an injury riddled history, but he's definately a good pitcher and would look great in a White Sox uni.
  16. This should be a good game. Iowa won last week, but they definately have some problems. I've heard a few experts say this team is better then the past two years teams. I like Tate as a qb, but he's still got to gain experience and what not. Love the running game and the oline should still be strong. Defense has some definate players. Of course instead of wathcing the game, I'll be stuck at traffic school...BOOO. Have fun Heads, but I hope the Clones get their asses clocked. Go Hawkeyes

Ya, I guess the Braves would have some interest in Konerko as well, but that package would have to include Cruz and someone else. Hell, I doubt they'd give up Horacio but he'd be a very nice pickup. I know KW is intrigued by Cruz, which is why I brought it up. I agree with him because I think he'd be an oustanding pickup for the pen and is future closer material, imo, and to me could be the next Mota in terms of being an awesome setup man. I was thinking about Andy Marte (their 3b prospect) but you never know with the Braves. However, there is no doubt in my mind that either Konerko or Lee would be good fits.
  19. I thought the same thing, when hearing that comment I was thinking that was one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. And their is no shot in hell that he is suited for the starting rotation. He doesn't have more then two legit pitches, so he'll get hammered in the rotation. As far as closer, he hasn't shown me enough to say he can do it, not to say he can't. As far as his velocity goes, last year I personally saw him hit 97 a few times, which is why I was kind of puzzled when he was throwing 91-92 this year. They said he changed his tempo and what not and was throwing softer or something (thats something I heard at the beginning of the year).

Here's a little trade suggestion, I some may not like it, but what about dealing Crede to Atlanta. I don't know if they would do it, considering they get Marte in the minors, but I'd love to get Juan Cruz. Cruz has been pitching very very well out of the pen. I am assuming the Sox could get something else as well, like a solid minor leaguer and Cruz. 4-2, 2.71 ERA, 63.0 Inn, 51 H, 60 K, 30 BB Thats if they are willing to move Chipper back to left next field cause they will have an opening in their outfield with Drew leaving (im assuming he won't resign).
  21. If Carl is healthy he should have a pretty good year next year. The key is for him to be motivated and to show up. Since he'll be in Chitown next year and not Montreal I think he'll be in good shape.
  22. McNeal is awful. I remember seeing him in Charlotte and his entire game plan is to pull everything and anything and it leads to umteen weak groundouts to the 3rd baseman.
  23. Patriots Seahawks Jets Rams Titans Raiders Texans Jaguars Bears Ravens Redskins Falcons Vikings Eagles Chiefs Panthers
  24. Ya, it was shoulder related.
  25. Barons first baseman didn't cover which led to an error. Then that runner scored on a weak hit single.
