  1. Burdi is the elite arm - but you can see his mechanics are still a bit shaky, so I expect him to have some head-scratching performances as well. Stuff is elite though and with time those mechanics and his command will get sharper and sharper (if he stays healthy).
  2. Yeah - Now that the regular season is ending in the bubble - they made the move. Timing makes total sense (since they clearly aren't focused on any of the candidates who were out of the bubble).
  3. Yeah; I like the 40/60 split at C. Related is injuries will happen and maybe some years it is even more and between him and Grandal they get extra AB's at DH and there bodies hold up, etc.
  4. I'd go 4yrs 32M. Not sure if he would buy it or not and I'd be fine if there was some team options in there. I kind of think of it as - he hasn't gotten a big contract and that type of deal has to at least be tempting for a guy like McCann.
  5. And I was totally making that up - i have no idea, but i presume all this companies target sports fans. Probably a huge part of their segment/target audience.
  6. MLB does targeting advertising - so the better question is - what are you googling? Hahah.
  7. No one that is a potential high draft pick is playing in the Spring. Even if the draft is pushed back - you are still talking about a player playing spring football with all the hitting and pain that comes with it and than jumping straight from that basically to training camp (i exaggerate a bit - but their bodies are going to get minimal time to adjust). Unless of course all the leagues believe they are going to stagger the following seasons start a bit (to kind of grade into normalcy). I mean - hard to imagine that NBA is going on now and in basically 3 months we will have preseason NBA again. Not sure if it will be bubble 2.0 or what.
  8. I was wondering about this - he wasn’t even eligible until today.
  9. Is the last sentence from Renteria a jab at Keuchel for also saying it to the press?
  10. McCann is awesome too - so I love the idea of keeping both fresh while maximizing both of their bats as well. Our use of catchers has been just right if you ask me.
  11. He made a statement about pitchers too - so I think he was more making the collective stance that the team needs to step it up. Know if you are trying to be the best, you need to bring your best day in and day out (mentally) - even if you don't have your best stuff or are as locked in - you need to grind every single day to be great. It is that mindset that is tough to instill for teams that have been used to losing. Its that laser focused mental aspect of the game.
  12. I honestly thought he had ill feelings towards the Twins organization - so I was surprised at the mention. National stuff he could have been involved in or maybe a one day thing, but I think the whole story about the AJ picture behind home plate at the Cell / Guarantee Rate field was that AJ mentioned he was literally staring right at the twins (which shows you where his allegiance is).
  13. The counter to this is what Woj is reporting - which is basically the Bulls are in zero rush to make a move. In general, why should they. If they want a guy who is in the "bubble" right now (which is probably a high probability), you aren't going to get him for a while so you might as well just continue to work and evaluate Boylan and the entire team. My gut is the new front office doesn't like the makeup of the team at all and recognizes that the team just has a lot of fundamental flaws, including just one player who has any chance at being an upper echelon guy (Lavine - we all know he has his warts, but he is the one guy who has elite athlecism and has shown an ability to get better every single year). Outside of that Laurie peaked a year ago and maybe that is coaching but maybe he just isn't as special as everyone says. Reality is he is probably far more likely to be a role player vs. anything else. As a rookie - we could see him getting better and better, but developmentally - he more plateaued at what he was vs. got better. Maybe he takes a big step forward this next year, but it is kind of his last shot. White - lacks elite athleticism and has size issues as a 2 guard, but obviously not bad defensively, but not a natural point guard either. He does have a knack for scoring and seems like that "microwave" type of guy and maybe he can develop into a more efficient scorer but hard to say. More likely he's a poor man Lavine (in the sense that Lavine has elite athleticism and better all around shooting). Wendell Carter is a good piece - but hard to evaluate given all his injuries. You could pretty easily just look at that and go - well, you suck Chicago, you have a bunch of mediocrity - better blow this thing up and start over. I would love to be a fly on the wall and see what they are saying. Worse part is - with all this uncertainty, probably the worse possible time to hit a restart button. Of course - you get the right draft pick and get a star, everything changes. Funny how NBA works - everything is better with a star. And if you find that star - you keep him and do everything you can to find other stars/elite players - than have good people who can draft solid role players (which the Bulls have historically done an excellent job at - finding solid role players/picks).
  14. Really - AJ is the Twins broadcaster? I'm super bummed that a team other than the White Sox got him.
  15. He will be a free agent still; he just won't get his salary this year.
  16. If college football ends up shutting down - I hope it is the last straw that forces all of American to start holding ourselves more accountable for doing what we can to put an end to this. I hope people can ignore politics because I have to imagine a number of these conferences that would shut down have plenty of AD's that probably lean on both sides of the camp politically (i.e., you have some that are democrats and some that are republicans). End of day decision was made amongst all and given how important college football is in certain pats of the country - I'm kind of curious how this shut down is handled. I kind of think of it as - Utah NBA players getting COVID started the initial wave of everything shutting down (or at least accelerated it), can college football shutting down help break a political divide / debate that murkies everything related to COVID.
  17. IF you told me the team would have had all the injuries it did and still be .500 - I'd tell you I was a happy camper. I still am. The team is due for some reversion in the pen, but it is due to get some better offensive performances due and getting guys back should help as well.
  18. Or is Robert better in 3 spot where he has more opportunity to drive in runs?
  19. I am 100% okay with this. Unless a bargain comes your way - don't see any reason to be aggressive in a year that could get wiped out at any point in the season (and with such unknowns). Lets lock and load with the crew and see what they can do.
  20. Pretty sure that means you get it too - due to the T-Mobile and sprint merger I thought sprint members were eligible for the T-Mobile giveaways (like the mlb tv package or the one year free subscription to the athletic).
  21. This is really good news (on both Rodon and Lopez).
  22. Has there been any update on when he is supposed to be back? More on the 10 day or more serious?
  23. Ok - I was about to ask you, unless it was a defensive metric - in which case I get it.
