I agree with you Cubkilla. That way Wright slowly moves up, and then if either Loiaza or Stewart sputter, then we have our guy right there ready to go. I'm a huge Wright fan too. I know we'll have him in the rotation very soon and he'll be pitching great for us.

15 sounds sweet to me. I'm really looking forward to this Baggs

Well, I'm having enough trouble field a healthy team. I always have guys on the bench I like so much that I don't want to part with them to pick up a reliever for a short time.

Sounds Good. Going to have to call Gary up and get his ass signed up cause I know he wants in on this.

Tell me Jason didn't actually say that on-air!!!! *talking about you're sig* Oh I did Ian

I'm just going for a good game. Part of me would like to see either team win, since I'm not a huge fan of either. I'm a big Carmello fan so I'll be rooting for Syracuse and I think they may win. If its a blowout it would be Kansas.

Sorry, Mooch, but I am pretty sure Sega doesn't put games out on Gamecube...I may be wrong though. I want a game where the scores will be like 2-1 for all the games, if this is the case should I get ASB? Please no biased opinions please. Tell it like Fox News would, truthfully. Get World Series 2k3.

Well I thought Krause did a solid job rebuilding. I'm a big BJ Armstrong fan, but is he ready and capable of taking over? This shocked the hell out of me though.

Stewart has to be the one sent down. Now we won't be faced with this problem for a little bit more time. I'm assuming Wright is going to make at least one rehab start, maybe two, so we'll likely have Stewart with us for another 2 starts. Now that is a very good time to evaluate him. If he's still throwing lights out it makes it real difficult. What would the Sox do, I don't know. Heck, maybe they'd do the odd thing and cut Josh Paul (If Olivo is doing good). Right now its hard to say, but it will be easier as we play another week or 10 days and are closer to having Wright back. Either way its a good problem. Also right now I'm not worried about White. Just give him some outings in games that the score isn't close to work his stuff back in and then once the curve is back then I'm fully confident. To be honest I'm pretty confident in him right now, but in a tight game I'd rather have Glover, Flash or Marte in. And then of course Koch closing.

I agree with you. I soley believe that Jimenez has the potential to be very good, but in all honesty we will be very lucky and happy if he turns into as good of a player as Ray Ray cause he really was one of the best 2nd baseman in the majors and one of the best 2nd baseman to wear a White Sox uniform.

I'll write, but I recommend MLB Extra Innings to those out of towners. It has its flaws but it does allow you to see a ton of games, a little over 120 and that is way better then 38 or so on WGN. Either way at least almost all of us get WGN so you can see some games and if not, people will be posting updates on the boards for almost every game. Anyway using the MLB TV thing and if so how does it work?

Yep, you did a great job Mark. Also, for those that weren't around the site/board last year this is one of our daily features (Minor League Recaps). This year the minor league section should be much better. Were going to being doing daily recaps and tons of other features like player scouting reports, updated top prospect list throughout the season and hopefully some other items as well. We want to make the minor league portion of the site like no other site on the internet, where you can stop here and pretty much find something out about anyone.

Could you imagine getting jammed on a Colon fastball and how much that would hurt. And then looking through the snow trying to see the ball and not picking it up until its right there.

Good to see Wing looking good early. I think he could start moving through the system rather quickly. One guy I also like is Anthony Sanders. I was familiar with his name, but when I saw him this spring he looked pretty solid out there. I know he's not really considered a prospect, but he could be a sleeper that gradually makes a name for himself and can find a way onto the bench.

I know this is a joke thread and all, but I am impressed with the way Baker hired his staff. He has two hiting coaches and two pitching coaches on that staff and to me thats something that most teams should have. We know Hawk has always thought teams should have more then one hitting and pitching coach, simply because not everyone sees eye to eye.

The game will start at 3:05 on Tuesday. It was postponed because of a sever snow storm.

I was at the game where Arod hit the 300th. The fan through it back right away and I don't think they even knew they caught a semi-historical homerun ball.
-
Ok, I am in.

But you look at how many baserunners Sirotka had and it always told me that he was somehow over-achieving and he had reached his potential. I never saw him getting better then he was.

If Daubach can hit to the tune of Tim Salmon-like 900 OPS and do well in clutch situations as he did in BoTown, do you think an outfield of Lee-Maggs-Daubach is a viable option if Borchard isn;t ready, Rowand continues to suck and Lee heats it up? Likewise Andruw Jones will never be Corey Patterson Chisoxfn, what do you tihnk of Mario Valenzula? They say he is good as Maggs ever was at ML level and we know how well Maggs did after 600 major league at bats or so...But then again Abbottt and Leifer and Kieshniek were also better than either Maggs or Lee and we know how THAT turned out...Liefer is kicking ass in NL, though lol No way would I ever want to see Daubach, Lee or Maggs in centerfield. That would scare me. As far as Valenzuela. I think he's a pretty good guy and I have been dissapointed he hasn't gotten a shot. I think he's going to have to find a way onto the bench and make a good impression. The only problem is I don't see Daubach or Rios going anywhere. I have always been quite high on him, but he's just never got a shot. Too bad he got hurt last season, otherwise we probably would of saw him. He needs to get back into the swing of things in AAA, then I guess we'll see what happens. Maybe when we decide to dump one of our catchers we go with 3 outfielders and bring up Mario (Although that would be a very odd decision).

Most Cops I know are very nice people. They are doing a job, and its not easy. Like SI says there is a thin line and with Cops or any job where your life is on the line, it is amplified because they are thinking about saving their lives as well. In terms of cops, ya there are some of them that are just jerks, but most of them are normal people that you'd have a fun time hanging out with on the weekends and being proud to call them your friend. They do a pretty damn good job on the most part too and they don't get near the respect they deserve, mainly because a few rotten incidents are what always gets talked about.

Indiana uses like 4 time zones, don't they? I went to a McDonald's in Gary once and they were :30 off Chicago time, which blew my mind. You get screwed out of Breakfast because of it

have you been watching jimenez play 2nd base??...he is horrible ..durham was considered a liability but jimenez is worse..no range whatsoever and errors everywhere...he shows a pretty good relay arm..ill give him that here are durham's 162 game averages over a 7 year career 112r, 177h , 35d , 8t, 15hm , 68rbi , 31sb, 278 avg , 352 obp , 783ops those numbers are his lifetime averages, ill bet anything jimenez will never come close to these numbers over his career...durham is also a 2 time all star..bet you jimenez wont make two of those either Baggs, I gotta say this. Ray was ripped way too harshly defensively when with the Sox, imo. He did a heck of a job, but as many have mentioned he was way too streaky. The thing I love about Jimenez is his willingness to go deep into counts, and he isn't looking to hit the homer every at bat. He does have some pop in his bat, but he will be a guy that could put up a .375 + obp year in year out. I want to see him become a better/more effecient base stealer. He has very good speed, yet he never uses it. This guy should be capable of 20-30 steals. He doesn't have Ray Ray speed, but he's quick. I'd also like to see him become a better bunter. I love how he's a slap hitter that works deep into the counts and will rarely strike out as he develops. Defensively I think he's average. Very good arm. i hope you are right about jimenez's range but where has it been??...every ball hit between him and paully is going through mostly untouched...no matter how slow...in 5 games i havent seen him make a play where he had to range to his left...on tv..the showed higgenson taking that "oops i got fooled swing" and hit a ball in the hole netween 1st and 2nd...it wasnt hit hard because he was looking for a fast ball and was slowing down his swing to make contact..then they show jimenez and he is still standing still..takes two steps then the ball goes through..and how many balls went between him and paully in kc???.. like i said i hope youre right but com d'angelo, show me something in the field Where has he been positioned when the ball is hit that way? I think thats what it comes down to, if he's playing them up the middle then he's got no chance. Still, we've watched one of the more impressive "range" guys at second base. No one ever gave Ray credit for that but he had amazing range. Now we are going to a guy with average range, maybe a bit above average, I need to see more games before I judge him. Of course having a guy who absolutely no range on first doesn't help. PK is good defensively, but he's no Scott Spiezo (My opinion the ultimate defensive first baseman; JT Snow ranks second)
-
I really think all of you under-rate Borchard. He will be an above average defensive player at any of the outfield positions. No doubt about that in my mind. Therefor an outfield with him is better then one without him. Rowand wasn't exactly thought of as a prototypical centerfielder either, although I think he does a good, actually better then average job out there defensively. Jim Edmonds wasn't a guy with a lot of speed either and he's thought of as one of the best. Of course, none of them will be Andruw Jones out there.
