  1. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 27, 2017 -> 05:21 PM) 3rd and 4th this year plus a 3rd next year. What a disaster already, lol. This pick better make the HOF Ridiculous. Unbelievable. San Fran gets its guy and loads up on picks. Uggh. Please surprise me and take a QB!
  2. Pace is upsetting me. Next year's 3rd plus a 3rd and 4th this year to move up one freaking spot. We have a million needs.
  3. I hope we didn't give up much (other then swapping some picks). Everyone thinks Thomas is the pick.
  4. One more pick to Bears are up. Who do Niners take? Adams / Fournette / QB / Thomas?
  5. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 27, 2017 -> 04:02 PM) Last call, place your bets: Jamal Adams I don't think he will be there...I think Niners take him (or Solomon Thomas). If Adams is there, I think we take him over everyone (unless we go QB). I'm going with the #3 pick being Trubisky (either we pick him or we trade our pick to Browns).
  6. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 27, 2017 -> 01:34 PM) The one bad thing for the Bears is that next years draft supposedly has the superior QB talent, but unless youre the browns its hard to consistently get top 2 picks. They could also just wait till round 3-4 and grab a guy like Peterman. Peterman was impressive from what I saw on Gruden's QB camp. Seemed pretty sharp. But yes, I think the struggle is, next years draft class is great, doesn't do much good for us, unless we suck for another year (which is definitely possible depending on what Glennon does). And none of us know what the current crop does the next year. I think a year ago, looking at Watson and Kizer, there was possibility of two pretty darn good QB's. Watson didn't see his accuracy improve (despite a strong year) or his picks decline significantly and Kizer had his own issues.
  7. The better we play as a team, the more leverage I would think we have in terms of trades (if Hahn is committed to that path).
  8. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 27, 2017 -> 01:09 PM) Both Kiper and McCshay have Browns taking Trubisky #1 in their final mock. The more I see all the mocks connecting Browns to Trubisky, the more that it makes sense the Browns play it safe and just draft him #1. It also means Jamal Adams is on the board for the Bears @ 3 (presuming San fran isn't passing on Garrett). If Tru goes #1, then only way I can see someone moving up to 3 is to jump Jacksonville for Fournette.
  9. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Apr 27, 2017 -> 10:58 AM) Intentional Talk is going to start airing on ESPN, allowing them to dissolve their baseball analysts to save money. I personally hope no one chooses to watch Intentional Talk on ESPN over MLB Network. Interesting concept, especially given that ESPN has more viewership and that helps MLB generate more revenue to spread their content, etc.
  10. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Apr 27, 2017 -> 11:53 AM) Trubisky told Dan Patrick 2 weeks ago that the Bears worked him out. He told Biggs yesterday he didn't visit or workout. So strange. Really weird. You wonder if there is more to the story. You also had the reports (via Gabriel) that Bears aren't high on Trubisky. Is it some smoke screen to try and keep people (namely Browns) who want him from thinking Bears are competition (since if the Browns perceive us as competition and they are that high on him, they just take him @ #1). I still think that nothing will make me more excited than drafting a QB. They may suck...but at least I got a young player who could (hell if I know if they will) change the face of this franchise. None of the other positions can do that in this league, imo.
  11. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 27, 2017 -> 08:54 AM) I don't like that Trubinsky only started 13 college games. I don't know how to evaluate QBs, but I like experience. I don't like the reports that the Bears have literally spent zero time with Trubisky. Just doesn't make sense to me. We don't have a franchise QB, we should maximize time with everyone. I recognize the whole "gamesmanship" that goes on with the draft, but darn it...we should leave no stone unturned when it comes to QB (especially a guy who easily could be the 1st QB drafted).
  12. QUOTE (ptatc @ Apr 27, 2017 -> 08:05 AM) I sticking with Adams or Lattimore. (Then a trade up into the latter part of the first round to grab one of the QBs.) The second part is wishful thinking. I'd love a stud CB, but Lattimore has the injury issues that concern me (and I don't know that he is "elite"). I'd go with Jamal Adams (but Niners might take him) or Thomas...if it isn't QB and I'm totally fine going QB. Would not be surprised if we danced with the Browns.
  13. They are a poorly coached team. Also have limited skilled players too.
  14. QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Apr 26, 2017 -> 10:44 AM) They have clearly prioritized uninformed people yelling at each other over real sports journalism. I think part of it is, like many companies, they are cutting away some of the old guard (which is typically more expensive) and looking into alternative options / fresher names to develop new talent (which is less expensive) while still keeping key personalities that create eye balls. Part of this is the fact that sports highlights alone are consumed so much differently, so you need to diversify even more so with personality / flair. Stark / Ravech will probably end up at MLB (but likely get paycuts, etc).
  15. Karl Ravech going to have a significantly reduced role. Storm and Russilo are in the same boat. Ravech is the man...nostalgia from when BBTN was the best darn show on tv.
  16. Another win over those slumping Royals!!! Covey was okay (I still like him) and bullpen did well (except for Beck)...Frazier got into his rhythm as well. Nice to see.
  17. QUOTE (raBBit @ Apr 25, 2017 -> 12:29 PM) I hope the Bears trade down. Such a value in doing so. How does this draft compare to drafts of years' past? Seems to be below average to me but admittedly I am not that learned in this area. The draft is actually very deep, especially loaded at DB and TE. QB is debatable and the top has a good number of above average players. You might say the top isn't quite as strong as some past drafts, but the quality and depth is very strong. I also argue that there are some intriguing QB options and I still believe we see 3 QB's picked in the 1st round (and I've been pretty adamant about this for months). I will be dissapointed if the Bears don't select a QB with one of its first two picks. I still think San Fran is taking a QB. No clear day 1 starter, but quite a few QB's with NFL talent.
  18. I think the Bears will draft Watson #3. Greg Gabriel had a tweet the other day indicating that Trubisky was not on the Bears draft board or at least not high and had the same statement about Jonathan Allen.
  19. QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 24, 2017 -> 09:01 AM) I am not sure I would even seriously consider the Nats after what happened publicly on the last trade. I really think they would be gun shy with giving up the talent that Hahn will ask for considering the Eaton trade. Whether that turns out to be a heavily favored trade for the Sox or not has yet to be seen but I still think it hinders the Nats on going all out for Robertson. Whether it was a good trade for them or not they looked really unsure of themselves after it went down which gave the feel like they realized they made a huge mistake. It may have been far from the truth but that sure as hell what it looked like. They dont anything like that to happen again. Eaton is crushing it right now. I think the Nats are quite happy they made the deal they did make. Prospect evaluators loved the deal for the Sox, but that is because everyone viewed Gio as being this can't miss prospect...reality is there is a lot of work/risk related to Gio and that in and of itself lowers the deal. Eaton is proving last season wasn't a fluke and he has been extremely valuable for the Nats. OPS is above where it was last year, OBP right around .400 (and this is coming off a bit of a slump). Signed for a long time at a bargain rate. They do need to get him back to a corner outfield spot where his defense goes back to being a major plus...but that will likely happen next year.
  20. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Apr 23, 2017 -> 03:59 PM) Add MCW to the list. You can tell Wade and Butler hate playing with him. I still find it hard to believe that Valentine isn't a better option. At least he can hit some threes. He'll spread the floor for others. MCW is awful. He can play D (at times), but he is so worthless offensively, in fact, he's worse then that because he has no idea how to pass and takes awful shot after awful shot (and he can't shoot to begin with). I've said for a long time..I'd love to see this team with a really good point guard (or even a good PG). Our PG's (outside of Rondo) are absolutely brutal...like worse in the league (and they make Rondo look much better then he is at this age).
  21. Congrats Matt. Sounds like the perfect car for you.
  22. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 20, 2017 -> 12:59 PM) Bears 2017 Schedule per @BradBiggs Sept 10 Falcons Sept 17 at Bucs Sept 24 Steelers Thu. Sept 28 at Packers Mon. Oct. 9 Vikings Oct. 15 at Ravens Oct. 22 Panthers Oct. 29 at Saints Nov. 5 bye Nov. 12 Packers Nov. 19 Lions Nov. 26 at Eagles Dec. 3 49ers Dec. 10 at Bengals Sat. Dec. 16 at Lions Dec. 24 Browns Dec. 31 at Vikings I predict 5-11 The start of the season is brutal.
  23. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 20, 2017 -> 09:57 AM) I don't necessarily believe this, as Wade said, Rondo knows everyones playbook. I think he is super focused in playoffs and is being more assertive in demanding everyone know what's up. And that's just easier to do in playoffs. Not directly related to this...but I view the Thibs era Bulls as a team that played close to a playoff level at most times (in terms of intensity, etc). This team clearly didn't do that most of the season (but for big games...you'd see them step up). So when you got to the playoffs...those Thibbs Bulls teams didn't have another gear, where this team likely has another gear that could pushes them up a bit. I kind of view Boston like some of those Thibs Bulls teams (the ones where Drose was hurt/shell of himself). I hope the Bulls keep it up because the East is totally wide open. If there was ever a year for an 8 seed to make the championships..this is the year (cause the East really has no great team). We can also lose the next 4...we are that streaky and while Portis and Zipser have stepped up...we've had pretty long stretches where almost no one could help Buckets.
