  1. I’ve been pleasantly pleased so far. I feel like Poles has made a few necessary moves which I didn’t know how much he would try to keep the crew together vs look to move guys and continue to shake things up.
  2. I agree with this. I would be ok with Hendrickson cause it is cap space - but no more than 2 years (and what would be more like a 1+1 type of deal). Quite frankly if I could deal JJ I would too. It will take some time but keep pouring draft picks into the team - this time more on defense. Note: If there was a market for Swift I’d trade him and get 2 years younger with a few of the current crop of FA backs.
  3. Bummed they couldn't get a pick for Edmunds. Contract was big.
  4. Zaccheus is a FA. But they clearly were fans of Jahdae Walker too.
  5. Very worried when there are now reports Raiders have a few teams offering 2 FRP for Crosby. That terrifies me. I would do our '26 and JJ or something like a FRP this year and a 2RP next year. If it is 2 FRP - at least be dumping Dayo's contract in it.
  6. What is this related to? Unrelated - If it is a low cost vet move, fine, but I'm not supportive of using $10M on Cam Jordan. Not a good use of funds in my mind.
  7. I will absolutely miss DJ Moore a ton - dude played hard every game and battled through it. Also glad he is ending up in a good spot. Getting a late 2nd rounder is a nice thing (I think I saw where we also got a pick next year but maybe that was wrong). I expect Edmunds for a 5th (Giants is my guess) and than hopefully we get the Cunningham 3rd's (26 and '27).
  8. I'll also say - if Bears could flip Swift for anything like Lions got for Montgomery, I would be fine with that and than basically see if you can go after Kenneth Walker or one of the other FA backs. Than again, I have no idea how Montgomery went for what he did.
  9. This is where my head is at. Might even be able to make Hendrickson and a free agent center deal work.
  10. This stinks - but this also might mean some different cap flexibility in place - if they are more confident given Thuney, Jonah, and Wright, so then your ability at center or even drafting a younger player (or trading for one in a more cap friendly manner) frees up some added flexibility for other moves. But man - talk about a shocker. I wonder if they had any indication at all or if this kind of puts the Bears in a tougher spot (better now than a week from now).
  11. I really like Fleming. This class looks quite good.
  12. And I am ok with that. After 4 years of heading the wrong direction they are finally doing what is needed and losing. Please let the lottery balls work in there favor. Better yet clean house and bring in a new front office. Going to be brutal for a few years but about damn time they decided to suck so they can hopefully get some stars. Get a top pick this year, get another topic pick next year, get the Portland pick this year (or next year) let them develop with Matas and Giddey (or flip giddey for more assets) plus massive cap space and all picks…things could look much better a year or two from now.
  13. I'm all for blaming the Bears - but in my mind, at least based upon what is out there, the Bears ownership is taking a pretty fair and balanced approach with IL...so this is more on the state and local areas in my mind. Asking for tax certainty and infastructure seems like a fair play knowing what the Bears plan on putting into the stadium.
  14. Glad to see you back Caufield!!!
  15. I thoroughly enjoy the Olympics.
  16. I like bad bunny but this is awful.
  17. This is fair. you are buying low - and the upside is real.
  18. Expiring contract - clearly the market wasn't there. They are getting an interesting RFA (who was a pretty young lotto pick and maybe has some longer term upside) plus the 2nd rounders. For years AKME ruined this thing - but right now - I'm quite pleased with what I'm seeing. No one is looking for roster fit - but they are finding ways to ensure they retain more assets and flexibility, whether swapping UFAs for RFA's or buying picks (and ultimately turning that into a pretty solid upside flyer in Ivey). Bottom line - this isn't a good team by any stretch and roster construction (in terms of on court match) isn't what they seem to be going with. But they have TONS of flexibility at this point and without a big, they seem to be in a path to tank. The other piece is - Charlotte is right behind the Bulls - so this helps the tank. I caveat - Bulls could always leverage that flexibility and swing for a star or two. I have zero faith in this front office - but the pure isolation of what is happening the past few days, is refreshing and seems to actually make sense. Unfortunately it is following a 7 year run (or however long it was) of being absolute garbage.
  19. In isolation - these were good deals so far. They don't have the draft picks I would like - but they have a young core and tons of cap space and all of their picks. They also have many flippable players. I'm not saying teams will love it - but if a star was out there - you take a combo of 2 or 3 of these young players plus a combo of FRP and you can swing big and get someone, still have flexibility and have some talent on the roster. Do I think this front office can do it? No. Will they do the above and than package it for the wrong player...probably. Ie they Vuc concept was a good one - that sort of package can transform a team - they just didn't pick the right player to do it. You got to sit back idle a bit - and make big swings when the elite players get disgruntled.
  20. He was first player in MLB history for have 7 straight seasons of .300, 20hr, 100 rbi, and 100 walks. I also believe he was first with 400 home runs (and all time leader) and 1st two time MVP in franchise history! He has a million firsts - this was not a fluke - this was done on purpose.
  21. They have to move White at least...other than that I'm okay if there is no action if it is because we see a front office change
  22. I think they will still sign a starter.
  23. Good move overall - this is the type of grinding I like to see front office do.
  24. I’d have Hicks out of the pen and see if he can harness his stuff in short stints. Does he still have his elite velocity?
