  1. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 05:24 PM) Not sure who Nicole is. I like Kimberely. She was on RW: Hollywood. Rachel used to be a super hot lesbo but now she is all butch. Kimberly is who I meant.
  2. Titans go for the kill tonight at 2. I'll be in attendance. Can't wait.
  3. We might see Jordan Danks sooner than people think. ALl depends on what happens this month.
  4. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 10:17 PM) If we go into fire sale mode then ya, I'm sure we see Danks this season. I can't wait to see Danks play personally, combine his outstanding numbers so far with the talent that I've read he has(still never seen him play) and that's just an exciting prospect. Trust me when I say, we as Sox fans will be really excited about him. He's a phenomenal athlete and it'll be good to have those type of guys on the Southside after seeing some of these slower plodding teams. At least for the big time baseball fan in me, the guy that prefers, pitching, defense, speed, hitting for average, and stolen bases as opposed to sitting back and waiting for a 3 run hr. The beauty is these guys also have solid power potential. Oh and Viciedo is adjusting incredibly quickly. The guy is the real deal.
  5. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 10:07 PM) Danks is just absolutely raking right now. It'll be interesting to see how quickly the Sox move him along. If he keeps hitting at this pace, he has to be the cf next season, no? Granted, I'm sure people wouldn't be happy with another non proven player manning cf but it'd be hard to keep him out of that role imo. Apparently Buddy Bell commented yesterday that he's ready for the majors. So I think we see him this year, but that of course is because I see some massive changes going on in Chicago this season. I also think we might end up seeing all of the Bham guys shortly (Flowers/Allen/Viciedo).
  6. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 08:58 PM) Why? Poreda is throwing a scary amount of walks. Viciedo is 20 and adjusting to moving to a new country and entirely different culture while playing at an advanced level. I'm not going to say I'm thrilled with what he's done, but we are seeing improvement and I think he has a bigger upside than the other guys you named. I can't disagree with you too much, I rank Danks ahead of him but thats it.
  7. I was all about Crawford last year and really wanted the Sox to get him. Still pissed we didn't nab him and instead made a serious overdraft with our 3rd round selection.
  8. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 02:23 PM) Jas, is it me or does Diem look hotter than ever? In previous seasons, she was kind of attractive. Maybe her association with CT, who rules, hindered her. But a couple of weeks ago when she was mad in the duel, she was smokin. I always thought Nicole was the hottest one (I think that was her name). Brad's girl is the perfect girl next door and I'm not a fan of Diem, but because she really reminds me of an ex of mine, who turned into like an insane stalkerish type (not really that insane, just annoying since we ended up working together randomly). My girlfriend absolutely hates the two lezbos though (and I use that term to describe them, not that she hates that they are gay, jsut cause I don't know there names).
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 02:50 PM) At hitting major league pitching? No. I realize Anderson's numbers are improved but I still look at him and just come away wondering. Crede never had the prettied swing either though so who knows.
  10. QUOTE (tommy @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 02:40 PM) Would you say as of right now Jordan Danks is better than Brian Anderson? I might, but thats not really a compliment to Danks, rather just a comment on how bad I think BA the hitter is. Danks probably isn't ready yet, but maybe they feel that what he needs to do to improve can be done at the big league level. I don't expect Danks to put up good numbers if he's promoted, but I think he has a good swing that doesn't have the massive holes that ANderson's has which means he should be able to figure things out. The question is, will the Sox have the mentality that they will be extra patient since they did in fact rush him.
  11. QUOTE (High Mileage @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 01:49 PM) I hope he does well. Last year, I wanted him or Buster Posey. We took Hosmer instead... Hosmer was a good pick. He's a very talented prep and he's doing a nice job in the minors, showing very good gap to gap power and I believe he'll project to hit for a ton of power. That said, Posey and Beckham are much more polished and ready to make a more immediate impact. I really liked Posey coming out as well.
  12. QUOTE (High Mileage @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 01:44 PM) Is this Becks debut? He was hitless in yesterdays game, which was his debut. But he's going to get his first hit, a double, tonight.
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 01:41 PM) Gimme a break here...all I remember about him on the way up is how for about 3 years everyone here wanted to trade him and Figgins for Konerko. Now neither him or another very very hyped Angel prospect lived up to there potential (Dallas McPherson being the other) but I believe injuries had a very significant impact on McPherson, who I know last season was raking down in the Marlins organization). And haha, I was always about trading for Santana and Kochman because I loved Earvins stuff and Kochman's swing. I was surprised at how poor Casey did following the trade and at how little pop he's had this year.
  14. Kris Davis, CSUF. 16hr's this year and he's got plenty of power potential. Good athlete, think he could be a potential steal.
  15. And not only was he a top pick (13th overall), he freaking hit over .350 during the course of two minor league seasons (2003 & 2004) which thus placed him incredibly high on the 2005 list (which comes out after the 2004 regular season), just before the 2005 season starts. For pete sake he hit .372 in 199 ab's at 21 in AAA (his first go-round), after putting up a .368 clip in 28 games in AA (at 21 years old).
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 01:28 PM) Did someone think Casey Kotchman had big time power potential at some point down the line? In 2005 he topped out at #5 on their list (Right before Scott Kazmir) and he'd never put up big time power numbers at any stop. Also, people did think Kotchman was going to hit for 30HR's. Heck, even last year, prior to getting dealt for Tex, it started to look like he was developing his power.
  17. He was also a top pick. Notice that I mentioned that you either need to be raking big time power or have been a top pick.
  18. Finally, a bball game goes as I expected. The Lakers are so much better on paper than the Magic it isn't even funny. I expect this to go 5 at the most, in fact I'd bet a significant amount of money on that. I laughed at all the f***ing idiots saying how explosive Orlando was. News flash, they aren't. They are excellently coached though and I was pissed that they beat Cleveland cause I was really hoping Van Gundy was going to get axed and we could hire him to replace Del Negro.
  19. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 12:19 PM) So you don't think Brandon Allen has a chance at cracking the Top 100? It's a close call in my book whether Baseball America includes him. Personally, I think he should make it, but the lack of power this season will definitely hurt his case. It's too bad, because his contact and walk rates are getting better. I think an increase in homeruns and doubles will happen in the second half. The only other guy I see having a shot is Hudson, but his control and ground-ball/fly-out ratio have gotten a lot worse since his promotion to high A. I think he'll rebound, but he'll need to be down-right dominant in the 2nd half if he wants to move back into consideration. I actually forgot about Allen. I'd probably have him in the 80-120 range depending on how he produces. He'll have to hit for more power the 2nd half of the season but he's got very good speed (for a corner infielder), solid defensive skills and really looks to have a nice skill-set for a first baseman. I don't doubt the power potential but he's still got to improve his power numbers since first is such a power position. I also agree with you that we'll see an increase in numbers and that will probably push him into the bottom half of the top 100. Why not higher, because first baseman, unless they are top top prospects or hitting 50+ hr's in the minors, typically don't get rated super highly. I like the odds of being a solid big leaguer. The kid just keeps getting better.
  20. He's a CFer, not having a strong arm won't be a make or break and his arm is consistently improving. His other tools are top notch and with a very live bat he's got a shot at developing some pop.
  21. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 12:39 PM) McLouth is under contract for 3 more years. The White Sox don't need an OF for 3 more years. /story Why not? I'm not arguing for or against MClouth, rather commenting that they have Jordan Danks and Carlos Quentin. You could tell me that one of Fields/Viciedo might end up in the OF as well but that is if all goes well. So I'd say that there is a need for an outfielder. Plus, even if Viciedo and Brandon Allen both pan out and you have an extra outfielder, you can always rotate one player at the DH spot with the other player 1st base. If a really good young CFer was out there, I'd jump on him hard and make him a member of the next core, just the same as I'd do for a front of the rotation young starter.
  22. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 11:28 AM) You draft lovers are killin me.I assume you are kidding but it's not in green. I just listened to a 30 minute interview from Baseball America draft expert and he said of about 10 guys they could go anywhere from 2 to 25. It's a crapshoot. This draft is the biggest crapshoot in a long long time. No top echeclon talent, but a very very good pool of good talent. So a guy at 10 on one guys board might be 40th on another guys board and vice versa. Makes it fun to have a lot of picks.
  23. I had to go to one when I was in the midwest doing one of the minor league roadtrips....it was because Paris Hilton worked in one back when the Simple Life was good, check that, great.
  24. QUOTE (NIUSox @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 10:04 AM) That happened to me about 6 months ago. It was crazy when it first opened. For like the first two weeks there was a constant line and wait times for like 45 to an hour. I don't know what compelled people to wait in that long for average food. Maybe it was all that advertising and no chance to buy it. Same thing happeend out here when they opened the first Chick Fila....very quickly people stopped going, haha.
