Sex Drive was surprisingly entertaining....roadtrip meets american pie but not as epic as either.
  2. Red Bull only tastes good with booze and even than its so terrible for you. I can't touch energy drinks if booze isn't involved. SO playing basketball...so fun. More fun when you PWN everyone on the court. Pull up J...Ben Gordon style woot woot.
  3. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Oct 23, 2008 -> 12:05 PM) Still Tucson I think. They're hoping to be in Glendale for 2010 IIRC. Last I saw they were hoping to be in Glendale this season. Nothing is official though and my guess is that it will go down to the wire.
  4. I think moving Thome could be a very good idea if the Sox could find a way to acquire a good young hitter since you could still have a pretty powerful lineup without an aging Thome. I could make the same case about moving a Dye or Konerko as well. But again, you got to get good market value for them.

Steff...should I wait and just rent it?
  6. Hinrich has always been partially handicapped on the Bulls. Put him with the right personel and your talking about a very valuable player. All Star, absolutely not, but above average, certainly.
  7. This KU/TT game will be fun to watch. Hopefully It'll still be going on when I get back from playing some basketball.
  8. QUOTE (chisoxt @ Oct 24, 2008 -> 04:40 PM) Unfortuantely, when it comes to veteran players, Kenny has a habit of overrating and acquiring certain players. Last year's poster child was Swisher..my fear is that Figgins will be this years entry. And for God's sake people, look at Figgin's stats and tell me that he is a good player! A third baseman that drove in all of 22 runs! He's a leadoff hitter and I'd hope the Sox would stick Figgins in CF. They have needed a CFer for years and there is no reason Figgins couldn't be a league average defensive CF (if not better). Figgins has a plus arm too.
  9. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Oct 24, 2008 -> 01:04 PM) Arte loves to spend money, and I don't see that stopping. If anything, the last few years have been disappointments in LA, so you might see an even bigger push from him. Plus they'll have Frankie, Garland and Garret Anderson's fat contracts coming off there books. Well, maybe not huge contracts, but still expensive. Unfortunately they are still stuck with Matthews Jr.
  10. QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Oct 24, 2008 -> 12:49 PM) I can't see the Angels making another splash in the market this off season, after the past two, but who knows. There has been some talk of him going to the Yankees because Giambi is off the books. Baltimore is also a possibility but he won't take a hometown discount IMO. The Angels didn't win the series and if they don't sign Tex than they'll be in the market for a first baseman. They could fall back on Kendry Morales though, who is a guy I would target if the Sox used a couple trips and opened up a spot at 1B. Morales can be a pretty damn good pickup and develop into a good 5 hole hitter.
  11. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Oct 24, 2008 -> 05:50 AM) http://www.baseball-reference.com/f/figgich01.shtml OK, I'm on the fence with Figgins, leaning towards not being very impressed, but I'm open to arguments for him. So those posters who are in favor of the Sox obtaining him, tell me why. Please just don't say "speed" speed alone is overrated Figgins is a great fit and I like the guy a lot when he's 100% but he's had two straight injury plagued seasons and I just think there are better options out there. That said I'd be excitd to have him and I guess you could move Paulie expecting Swisher to slide into first and play better (although I still don't consider Swisher an acceptable first baseman). Prince Fielder is definitely an intriguing name if the Sox opted to move Thome or Konerko.
  12. QUOTE (bighurt4life @ Oct 23, 2008 -> 08:50 PM) It wouldn't exactly be a surprise or shocking if it is the most expected move. Shocking would be a trade of one of our team core like Buerhle, Konerko, Thome, or Dye. Those guys are no longer the core of the team. Well Buehrle is and you could make a case that Paulie still is but the others probably won't be along much longer. I consider the core Buehrle/Danks/Floyd/Ramirez/Quentin/Jenks.
  13. QUOTE (Controlled Chaos @ Oct 23, 2008 -> 12:45 PM) Italy Grappa, Limoncello, Sambuca. Beer - Peroni, Moretti Get some soppresatta to munch on and you're all set. Yum, soppresatta....delicious.
  14. QUOTE (shipps @ Oct 23, 2008 -> 06:21 AM) Lol.Is there like some stripper store I can go to?Where would one even buy pasties? With time your body gets used to it. When I get into running grooves the first week or so I'll have some chaffed nipples but your body adapts and it goes away.
  15. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 24, 2008 -> 08:47 AM) How about not rehashing old mangers and going a route with someone who hasnt tried and failed in the majors? Personally, I would hire Fisk or Ventura. Technically Brenly won a world series so I don't think you can call him a guy that has failed. Sure he's been fired but so has Joe Torre.

Is this going to be the final one? Oh wait, don't tell me. I don't want to know when I go in and watch this. One of the all time greatest sets of horror movies.

I'm not going tomorrow, but I'll definitely be seeing Saw 5.
  18. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Oct 22, 2008 -> 05:56 PM) Prison Break, although I watch every week religiously, is getting...well bad. Too many convoluted plotlines and the show seems like it just keeps getting more crazy. Sadly, I will not be able not to watch (weird negative construction there), but I am really want to just turn it off sometimes. But Mondays are perfect for me thought, HIMYM at 7:30 then PB. Prison Break had me lost for a bit but now I'm digging it big time.
  19. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Oct 22, 2008 -> 01:31 PM) Yeah, I read that over at deadspin. I think I've heard about colleges having open tryouts before because their kicking game sucks so bad. f*** me...why couldn't this of happened at some college in California. My ass would have been there pronto. I've hit a 45 yarder before and can consistently pop them in from 35. 40 is typically my peak though. The 45 yarder I hit went off the crossbar and in.
  20. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 20, 2008 -> 11:01 PM) Would you rather give Garland $7.5 mill a year over 3 years or try your luck with a combination of Garcia, Richard, Egbert, Poreda, YourMother, etc, while paying less than $5 mill and being locked into no long-term committment? I'd take Garland.

QUOTE (shipps @ Oct 21, 2008 -> 08:56 AM) Scalise. Dunn, you should get as Shipps and wear his cool glasses. Oh wait, you didn't want his cool glasses and left them at Scalises place. Ungrateful Aussies.

    Entourage

I think you might see E step into an agent type of role.
  23. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 21, 2008 -> 03:34 PM) I think they're a good team, I just think the loss of Brady makes the AFC East and quite frankly the AFC in general that much weaker. As far as I'm concerned, the AFC is wide the f*** open right now and there are only about 3-4 teams you can truly count out right now, those being Oakland, KC, and Cinci as the guarantees and probably Miami too though any team with Parcells in the organization has a chance. There are any number of teams that, if they get hot or get cold, could ride it to a playoff spot or golf reservation. Correction, the loss of Brady and the piss poor performance of the Colts and Chargers. Those were by far and away the best 3 or at least most talented three teams in the AFC the past couple teams and right now I'd say they are all mediocre at best. Neither conference is strong and there is no way in hell the Titans are going to win the superbowl.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 20, 2008 -> 10:17 AM) You know what's really funny? I was the one who started the question about this. I'm married. And I meant it the opposite of the way all the single guys here think I meant it. What I was saying was, if santo is telling his girlfriend that "she thinks she is religious", and giving her the "I told you so" line... I'm surprised she is still with him. This has been a very interesting, unintentend experiment in the difference between married and single men. Oh and I was taking the whole angle of knowing that your significant other wants to see something and that you oblige despite not potentially having the same interests and than walk out and drag the other out as well. There is a time and a place to suck it up. My girlfriend may not be the biggest baseball fan in the world, but if we go to a game she's not going to get up and leave in the middle of a no-hitter and tell me I have to leave too. Just like If I'm going to an exhibit relating to her field that has zero interest to me I'm not going to go there for 5 minutes and tell her I'm bored and lets go home.

This has been a very interesting, unintentend experiment in the difference between married and single men. It should probably be pointed out that I'm in a serious relationship and if my girlfriend was that way she wouldn't be my girlfriend. She'd say the same thing about me as well. And its not like we are the same people, we have some similar interests and some completely opposite interests but end up completing each other well.
