  1. QUOTE (gatnom @ Aug 13, 2014 -> 10:51 AM) I'm not the most optimistic person when it comes to what I think he will be as a player for us at the major league level, but it's very clear that he has nothing left to prove in the minors. If he can come in right away and more or less dominate AAA pitching, I see no reason not to bring him up. i think what they want more is the practice in the outfield and build up his endurance to play 9 innings out there
  2. You don't really needed to accelerate to get away from the confrontation, he is in a car, in less than a second he will be yards past him and the confrontation can't escalate. If the kid had a rocket launcher, then yeah accelerate to get away but otherwise there is no valid need that I can think of
  3. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 12, 2014 -> 11:48 AM) funny, so do I Well done sir
  4. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 12, 2014 -> 12:39 PM) Stewart really didn't run into him either until he excelerated and his back end spun into him. He either has the worst timing of all time, is an utterly incompetent driver, or wanted to show the guy pulling a Tony Stewart on Tony Stewart who the boss was. Yeah imo Stewart obviously was trying to f*** with the guy and it sure did backfire. No-one will ever be able to prove it with all the excuses of poor lighting, visibility, dirt track that's hard to control, and Tony will never admit it. But I think he knew what he was doing, didn't mean for it to kill the guy obviously, but he'll have to live with knowing that the rest of his life, so that is probably punishment enough
  5. http://jalopnik.com/this-is-the-view-from-...-car-1620047682 Still, he said: "I seen Kevin clear as day. Nobody else ran into him, either."
  6. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Aug 12, 2014 -> 11:41 AM) He was already put on waivers, the Cubs put a claim on him, and the Phillies pulled him back. hmm you quoted a non existent post

    QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Aug 12, 2014 -> 09:52 AM) It'd be great if the black communities in St. Louis, Detroit, Chicago, etc. responded with this much energy when black kids are killed senselessly by other black kids. wat, that doesn't happen. it's only whiteys killing ma babies
  8. Wowowow they still let this team play in the majors?

    I find TIP to be a better measure of pitchers. That's Tmar Independent Pitching, the formula is TIP = ((11.3510*HR)+(2.9263*(BB+(.7503*HBP)))-(2.82537936384*K))/IP + 3.01863892037

    "FIP does a better job of predicting the future than measuring the present..."
  11. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 27, 2014 -> 08:56 AM) And I don't see the urgency trading Alexei. Who is going to play short next year, or should we be happy when they lose then also? Agreed, it seems people just want good players traded cause they get bored or something?

    He should qualify for league leaders now right

  19. Maybe Jeremy reed? Did he ever get that high?
  20. Can't wait until next year, no more patronizing an average player, phew
  21. The two guys drafted before him, and everybody after him too, took less money than greedon and signed right away (aiken was gonna sign right away remember, before he failed that physical). So they were more interested in signing and playing baseball, meanwhile rodon was more interested in getting the most money he could. Almost the exact definition of greed. Add in the fact that he hasn't pitched 1 professional inning yet he still was asking for more money. Go earn it first kid
  22. Let me be the first to say f rodon, greedy pos
  23. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 08:10 AM) Exactly. That's my argument for doing it. It won't do anything for the future, but having Flowers out there doesn't either. Nieto could be the catcher of the future. It's hard to tell. We won't know for a while. But, I think we can all agree that Flowers is not the catcher of the future. So why not bring AJ in, release Flowers, and go with AJ and Nieto for the rest of the year. Give Nieto a little more time than he has been getting, see what you've got. agreed, nieto can learn a lot more from AJ than from flowers
  24. Look at those creamy hamstrings
