Hey Chisox2334! What happened to your topic title? I guess I put my Schoney He Gawn topic down at about the same time you put yours up. You had the better information so yours deserves to be up, but how the heck did my title wind up on your posting topic?

My brother has lived in LA for 18 years. A statement that die hard Angels fans used when he got traded was "It's about time we got rid of that #%&@%$
-
Don't know how reliable it is, but at 10:00 p.m. tonight, the Official Sox sight stated that Sox did not offer Schoeneweis Arbitration. Good! I'm rather tired of these unproven unreliable up and down guys. For crying out loud......... let's get a proven track record starter already!!!!!
-
Something to think about!!! A thought just came to me. Regardless of what happens via trades, and/or FA signings.......... Remember what happened last year. A Tonof moaning and groaning over nothing happening. Whether we all agree or disagree on what KW does or not, it's a heck of a lot more fun watching the board light up like it has been the last week or so. Isn't that one of the reasons we're on here in the first place? Do give our opinions, insights, and information on a team we all have a passion for? Glad to see a lot of excitement and particpation from so many! Last year at this time, the board was like a casket with arms and legs. Regardless of what happens, Good to see a lot of life coming from us Sox fans this early!

Call me an ambulance!! I'm having a friggin' coronary! It's about time we finally got rid of this guy! He had too many chances as is. Struck out 12. Walked 15,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,0 0,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,00 ,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000

My one-word reply...........YYAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!
-
I agree! I'm sure he won't say a whole lot......especially after what happened with Vizquel. They'll probably try and probe more out of him about RJ or some other area, which he'll probably reply.............."There are plenty of things in the workings at which I am not at liberty to state just yet."

now...if the same thing ever happened with Gammons, then I'll believe that Konerko can outrun Carl Lewis and that Borchard can bat a career 330 with only 10 wiffs in each season
-
Thanks! And right back at ya big guy! Also.... Sorry to see that your Reed-following insignia had to change! You seemed pretty high on him. Hurts even more now that Maggs is gone, and that we continually get "Tortured by Borchard".! Reed would have gotten his fair chance! Consolation Prize!!!... At least we got Freddy, and not wasted Reed on some washed-up has-been! Can you imagine if we got another Todd Ritchie for Reed? Glad it didn't happen!

I know this thread is old, but when I went back to Internet Explorer, I tried doing font changes the same way as when I was with Netscape, and they didn't come up. Went back and dug up this thread, and found the answer that I needed. Thanks guys, for your past as well as present help with things!!! Test Test Test Test

Just testing font size . No longer with Netscape.

If either one of them goes, I hope the heck it's not Lee. As much as I like Konerko's power numbers, Lee has more to offer to help our club. He can hit, field, steal bases, and hopefully learn to bunt. Plus, he's still "HUNGRY" to play well! Konerko can't run(whether to steal a base, or beat out a ground ball), fielding is OK, and hits into an ocean full of double plays. As far as bunting, it ain't gonna happen. Don't get me wrong, I like Konerko a lot, but he only has one thing to offer..........Power! Nothing wrong with that, but there are plenty of times when you need other options. That's where C. Lee comes in! Plus..... I don't think we've even seen the best of C. Lee yet!

Got a nice kick out of your quote. Only one problem area. Borchard for Dotel? I think the best we'd get for Borchard is an empty bat rack and a cooler of Gatorade!
-
Maybe it's not so much a comon sense issue. I think we all know (or at least hope) that we'll make some off season moves. I still think that it's still in the back of everyone's mind of what not only happened last off season, when KW said he wanted pitching, and nothing happened during that time, but also the fact that it carried over into the whole season with the 5th starter issue.. If KW obtained a # 5 starter when the off season was around, instead of playing around all year with "Wannabe's" we would have had a much better chance to do something. I think the main focus as of now is ghosts of red-flags popping up because of last year. I think we'll be OK, it's just that after all of last years off season promises, and nothing happening, Sox fans are more than itchy for some big moves. When little squirty ones like this happen, red flags are bound to pop up in the fans minds.
-
Oops, forgot to close my tags!! I guess it was all the excitement of the big news that made my mind go into "brain0freeze mode!!!
-
Let's hope so. I think we had just about enough of "POTENTIAL"wannabs's for a 5th starter. Too many times we haggle with these "So-Called" great looking prospects with good AAA stats, and then take a dive when given a chance. KW keeps saying that he wants pitching, then he well better get us a proven "WEll-Established" starter. I think we're all rather tired of the usual [/size][/i]"MAYBE this guy will turn out to be something" routine! "YAWN!!!!!!!" Wake me when something significant happens!!!

Most everyone I know who is a Cubs fan said that they could not figure out why Farns kept continuosly going to a breaking ball. He's almost unhittable with high heat, and yet the breaking ball which he threw a lot is what constantly killed him. I agree, "BY FAR", that we don't need another head case. But you wonder, could he help us if "Issues" were taken care of?
-
One guy I hope we do not acquire is Urbina! We had enough problems the last few years with closing out games. "WE DO NOT NEED" another get in trouble type of guy. A closer is supposed to do just that....."CLOSE!!!" I cannot figure out what the big "Hoop-la" is about this guy. The Cubs have shown interest in him. Let them have him so we can read about how many games they blew because of late ining pitchers getting them in trouble. Here's Urbina's last 2 years 2004: 32 appearances/ W.4 L.6/ERA 4.50/K's 56/Hits38/BB's32 For a closer to put "70" guys on base in 32 appearances is some one"WE DO NOT NEED AROUND HERE!!!!! 2003: 77 appearaces/W.3 L.4/ K's 78 (not bad!!)/ 56 hits/31 BB's Again, that's a lot of people on base for a "shut-down" type of role pitcher. We get this guy, "WE WILL BE SORRY!!!!!!"
-
As far as updates, last I heard, there was a 16 inch womens softball league scouting him. They need someone who can get it over the plate by tossing it underhand! Heck......he'll still probably walk a truckload.
-
Welcome Aboard!!!!!!
-
Yeah, and don't forget....we're still not done being tortured by Borchard. Wouldn't doubt it if in the future they still want to screw around with the waste-case Danny Wright.
-
Was talking about Maggs, Valentin, and most likely Konerko. Total $28ML.

Rather sick of hearing about trading in bulls Rings for a W.S. Title. Then dump 3 big salaries, raise ticket AND parking prices again, give him better fan attendance last year, and then play dilly dally of not putting profits back into the team . Someone is definately shooting some B.S. at us.
