Broadway/Phillips Called up too
QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 3, 2007 -> 09:30 PM) The Reds have Bailey, Votto, and Bruce.....that's three of the better prospects in baseball. Fathom is correct. In fact, went one of them just proved it. Off Topic, but Votto went 3-3 HR, RBI, BB, 2 R in his first big league start (PH a day eariler and K'd) Supposedly one of the better (perhaps the best) 1B prospect(s) comming out of the minors. I hope we get that type of impact player when he develops in 2+ years in the upcomming draft.

Sox vs. Tigers
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 5, 2007 -> 11:02 PM) Ya, they can be 3+ years away, but I really don't see Florida making any big time FA splashes, and by 2010, Miggy and Hanley will start getting really, really expensive(moreso in Caberra's case) They won't need too IMO. They will be getting good looking players in the first rounds (1-10 range) of the draft for a good while and maybe the later rounds (Even though their drafting hasn't always gone their way esp. 1st round picks). This is not even counting their picks who are still in the minors developing. They'll be okay, but it will take some time and maybe more considering in 2010+ they could be losing Miguel and/or Hanley.

Sox vs. Tigers
QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 5, 2007 -> 10:44 PM) ...which is hilarious considering they have two of the three best offensive players in the NL this year. It's mind boggling how much they have underacheived even though those 3 are the only 3 who can hit in their lineup (excluding Hermida here even though Uggla has powerful muscles but is a bit overrated IMO.) Just look at their pitching roster. Makes you want to throw-up. They are very young, but terribly bad. Not to mention guys like Willis, Olsen, etc.. have pitched horrid. They are clearly 3+ years away.

Sox vs. Tigers
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 5, 2007 -> 10:37 PM) I really think it's going to come down to the Sox and O's.... I would add Florida in that list. They are beyond horrible. Unless your only counting AL worst.

Lucy already has the same amount of hits as Gustavo Molina.

I'm actually glad I got today off (even though they keep calling me) so I can watch this kid pitch. Hopefully he won't be terrible.

OK so answer this please about winning this time of year
QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Sep 4, 2007 -> 12:26 AM) I mean sure, its nice to win games, i would like for the sox to win games, don't get me wrong. BUT, the situation that we are in RIGHT NOW, the only thing winning games does is potentially hurt us from getting the top pick in the upcoming draft. NOW, if the sox, lets say, didn't suck and were actually in the race, then i like any other sox fan would want them to win. But really, i would like for them to lose just so we can actually get some top talent in the draft for once. I have gotten used to them losing by now so i really don't care anymore, i get more upset when they win and TB loses, because all they do is stock up their farm system with even better talent then they had before with every loss they recieve. Very solid post.

This is really getting to you isn't it Greg?

If any other pitcher than Johan Sanata wins Cy Young..
Only thing that shockes me about Santana this season is he giving up a ton of homers regardless if they are mostly solo shots. I believe he leads the league in homers allowed this season. If he's not, he's damn close cause every time I watch a highlight of him this season, he pitches a good game, but an opposing player(s) takes him deep. This is what you would call a "bad" season for him even though alot of pitchers in this league would kill to have his numbers this season.

Lets revisit a trade that didn't happen
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 3, 2007 -> 11:12 PM) I know you have a major hard on for Hu, but Hu has posted a career .346 OBP in the minors, .337 in AAA. That doesn't scream 2 hole hitter.... I just wish certain posters will get off him considering he'll be a rookie who is probably going to struggle. That's not even considering KW is looking for a veteran SS because we are not rebuilding and were looking to contend again next season (don't think he wants basically two rookies playing a DP combo and knowing both could possibly have poor seasons.) Hu is a nice spect, but he is not a "can't miss." He's NOT comming here.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Sep 3, 2007 -> 07:16 PM) Whitesox.com has Gavin starting on Wednesday against the gambler. Comcast Sportsnet has him going on Tuesday against Bonderman.. I hope that isn't the case because I have Wednesday off work and I want to see Gavin pitch.
