  1. If it was a Vegas bet, I can see Logan making this team about the same as George Mason making the final four. Slim to basically none. Welcome to the sox Logan and I know he'll hold his own in the show.
  2. I love Howry. He said pitching with the Sox was unforgettable here. He had a great time and still loves the organization. Eyre is the one who hates the Sox and the organization with a passion and is still trying to forget what he calles "the lost years" on the southside. Good luck facing our "black and silver" jerseys this year Scott.
  3. I tell ya what. Working with one of the best hitters of all time (Yount) can really help anyone's approach at the plate.

    South Park <> Chef

My bro told me by wolves or something like that. I missed the show so if anyone could elaborate on this then feel free.

    South Park <> Chef

Yea, my brother ran and told me this not too long ago and I was like.. WTF? He asked my why and of course I showed him the article and told him they had to kill off his character. Chef was one of my favs, now I only have Token to watch now.
  6. I used to do it alot during my high school days (still do both from time to time.) My mother never forgave my uncle cause he was the one who made me sip alittle alcohol to help go to sleep at the "tender" age of 4. I apperently liked it alot, been drinking ever since. Smoked that green when I was a sophmore when my friends kept pressuring me. Never was into squares that much but occasionaly do that too. Never did coke like 90% of my friends though. I'm not THAT much of an idiot. I used to talk to a poster here who also smoked weed back in the day alot as well, and he knows where I'm comming from. Too bad he doesn't post here much anymore (still trying to remember the posters' name.) I would say friends, strangers, family members, some cartoons, the enviroment you live in (I live deep in the southside) and even music can influence a person on doing some of those things. Like one poster already posted smokin weed isnt as bad as drinking unless if it was cigarettes.
  7. QUOTE(iWiN4PreP @ Mar 22, 2006 -> 08:55 PM) Happy birthday Ace. Ah, thanks Prep. Feels good to reach that good ol' 28.
  8. QUOTE(whitem0nkey @ Mar 20, 2006 -> 03:58 PM) he's done a great job as commissioner and the NFL has thrived during his time on the job. Not an easy guy to replace. i think out of the current commish's in the 4, uh, make that 3 major sports in this country, tags has been by far the most responsible and helpful for his sport. and he was no doubt a big part of settling the cba issues over the past month. maybe some politics here and there, but i'm not sure what's to completely hate about this guy. just my opinion, but i think we're losing a pretty responsible leader for the nfl. Agreed. Very underrated commish. I believe he enhansed the steriod policy back in 89' or later, and what good ol' Bud Selig is doing now nearly 15+ years later. Very fair guy and always try to make the game as good as he could get it. He might be best known for agreeing/putting in the instant replay into the NFL now. Fine job he did and a fine person. Strong view on certain topics. Definitely won't be easy to replace.
  9. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Mar 22, 2006 -> 12:56 AM) Perhaps you view diamonds in the rough differently than I. Probably wite. Give me a break I've been out of school for nearly a year since I finished high school, and out of soxtalk for a year and a couple months since my computer was f***ed up to the max. My soxtalk IQ has dropped alittle as has my vocabulary but I'm still good-looking. I still see him that way cause noone saw Cotts in that deal (some even considered a throw-in; nice spect but a longshot unless his walks drop.)
  10. My heart goes out to the family and to the posters that knew her. It's gonna take a while to get off your minds. Tizz, your post really touched me and had me thinking about the people (friends, family, etc.) I've watched pass away eigher from an accident, a shooting, or a suicide more than anyone would know on this site. Hell, just three weeks ago, a close friend of mine's cousin was shot one block away from me on 106th and Ewing on the Eastside right by Banners liquor store. It was gang related and I did meet him before. Good person.
  11. I'm also getting one too Slavko. It's gonna be this summer as well. I know your younger than me but usually the saying is "it's my body and my decision." especially if your paying ($$$) for it like I am. P.S. we still gotta meet one of these days. You live around me and you know a couple of my friends I went to elementary school with and I still haven't meet your ass.
  12. Yea heard this on my way to work with my grandmother and lil bro in the car. My brother actually told me his friend does that on his way home from school and the neighbor comes out and yells at him about it. But it's beacuase he doesn't like anyone on his grass. He does have problems though cause he takes medicine for anti-depression of some s*** like that so my brother is probably gonna say something tomorrow to his friend about this.
  13. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Mar 21, 2006 -> 11:50 PM) Maybe he misses Cotts? God I would like to find that thread when that Koch/Foulke trade happened a couple years ago. I know Jas was one of them but alot of people said that Cotts was the interesting name in the deal cause he was good spect with impressive numbers (except his walks) He is the only one left in that deal with us in the same uniform.. Hell Koch is not even in professional baseball anymore. What a pickup. Now a reliever and one of the best/underrated relievers in the game. (probably shouldn't get too carried away for one season, but he looks like a diamond in the rough.) I'm glad I was also a "one of the many" Cotts backers when that thread about running his ass out of town was around. (Should try and look at that too.)
  14. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Mar 21, 2006 -> 11:15 PM) There are certain moves Bavasi has made that I just absolutely hate(for instance, resigning Ibanez...journeymen Joe Blow can come in and put up .280 20 80 .800 for you, and there are always bargains to be had and players to be traded for that have little to no value but have a high ceiling(JOBO))...but I really like the direction that team is moving. If Beltre looks anything during the year like he did in the WBC, watch the f*** out on the west coast. I too think they are going to surprise a lot of people this year...very solid, underrated team all-around. I don't know wite. Ya boy Bloomquist is considered a god in spring training and in AAA and if he makes the team, Seattle will go very far this season. Waiting for posters to rip on me.
  15. This also goes to show how horrific the Reds starting pitching is. Arroyo would be a #4 (possible #3) on most teams but he instantly becomes the #1 on the Reds pitching staff. Boy is that sad.
  16. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Mar 20, 2006 -> 10:28 PM) That's one hell of a September. When Williams suggest he's been following Thornton for awhile, it must have dated back to this specific time frame. Should someone tell Tizz or should I?
  17. I'm just laughing on some of the posters here who are already saying this trade is horrible, and that our bullpen is s***ty. I think some tend to forget its March 20th. I want to see how things go down with Hermy, and if Coop can change this "kid" (Ozzie word ) with his mechanics like he knows he could. Kenny wanted this pitcher for two years and just like Cintron, Vazquez, etc., he got his guy. Can we please see how this trade shakes up this season and say if its a bad trade down the road just like we did with the Garcia/Olivo&Reed deal? We'll see Thornton on Comcast and we'll see if Coop has him in the right direction mechanic wise before we all think it's a bad trade. (not to say if Borch even makes the roster for Seattle)
  18. QUOTE(Misplaced_Sox @ Mar 20, 2006 -> 05:17 PM) Bo Jackson, Deon Sanders, Brian Jordan and those were two sport athletes that played both There are athletes that dropped football and plaed baseball Remember Lou Gehrig? For every failure there is a success story Todd Helton quickly comes to mind for me.
  19. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Mar 19, 2006 -> 08:57 PM) This kid is borderline arrogant. If he can get guys out, so be it. Ya, I wasn't kiddin around when it said he has a cocky attitude. Alittle bit of a meathead, but if he does his job consistantly, I think he'll be tolerable in the clubhouse.
  20. From what I've heard, this kid is very cocky (in a good way) but that's the kind of confidence you need to succeed in the majors. He'll be fine.
  21. Ain't too many Borchard backers on soxtalk (All I know of is Aboz) so any move that takes Borch off the 40 man (hopefully the entire sox organization all together) is fine with me.
  22. Now the O's want Zito (and/or) Prior cause the A's are now getting involved in the deal. Greedy O's very greedy.
  23. I am now hearing just the D-Backs and BJays making a trade. Miguel Batista and Orlando Hudson for Glaus.
  24. Well everyone (especially the veterans here) knows how I feel about mr .300+ 7-10 hrs 60-80 rbis 15-25+ sb 70-80wlks 50-60ks and so on Reed. He will always be my favorite non w.sox player and I still believe he'll be a good (semi-great) player for a long time.
