  1. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ May 19, 2012 -> 07:30 PM) Just one of his b****es :headbang
  2. Thats just bad luck for Tank. Though I'm sure he'll take the Wrigley homerun in the winds anytime.
  3. QUOTE (Jake @ May 19, 2012 -> 07:19 PM) Some guys get in such an aggressive state of mind in 2-0, 3-1 counts that they fail to make solid pitch recognition We watched Juan Uribe be a master of this for years with us.
  4. QUOTE (oldsox @ May 19, 2012 -> 07:14 PM) That's the injury both Todd Helton and Rafael Furcal had in 2008. Both had surgery. Almost a killer injury for a 3B.
  5. Castro helped out Danks big time there. Gonna be a hell of a hitter, but showed his youth there.
  6. That is a nice shiner right there.
  7. QUOTE (Marty34 @ May 19, 2012 -> 07:04 PM) I'd love nothing more than to be proven wrong on Viciedo. It's May now.. so expect the Cuban to keep it going. Alexei too.
  8. 9 up 9 down for Danksy.
  9. QUOTE (BFirebird @ May 19, 2012 -> 06:56 PM) DAYAN! That was a Wrigley homer right there. Without a doubt. Still a strong kid though.
  10. My god I didn't realize how pathetic the Cubs lineup is.
  11. Nice article by Haugh a couple days ago on Kane. Actually dug up his own research on that incident. Some bits.. Well look at that. Deadspin not a believable site for s***. What a surprise.

    QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ May 18, 2012 -> 05:47 AM) And he doesn't turn 20 for another month. As you said he doesn't have a lot of power, but he's got plenty of time to develop some. And it doesn't have to be drastic showing. He is probably playing 2B in his future, a position where you can get away with little power. And Texas is showing once again they have great scouting.
  13. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 17, 2012 -> 08:28 AM) If we or any other team had signed him, it'd be circus music time. Last year it was the awful Kyle Farnworth. This year it's Rodney. They just find badness and make it somehow good. Jim Hickey is a terrific pitching coach. They still got the Zim master lurking down there too.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 14, 2012 -> 05:05 PM) He hasn't been as bad as the couple big mistake plays he's made in CF would suggest, he's shown good range out there, and frnakly, he's still effectively a rookie out there, so he does have room to grow into that position. He has played 270 career minor league games at CF (the most out of every other position) and was a -16. (LF +7) He certainly had his drops/misplays back then, but he was much better (range wise) at LF. I liked him alot when he was playing for the Hammerheads. But unless the sox trust Rios at CF again, or if they stopped dicking around with Viciedo's development at a position for 3 years (I was adamant on Tank playing RF for years), he would be much more tolerable. I have no idea what people here were expecting, and admittedly, I haven't watched much sox games this year due to work (so no idea what his UZR looks like this year, or from the eye test so I'm going by what posters like fathom and others say) but if he's still the same guy I saw/remember back in 06-07, he will be serviceable in CF. (but he is a much better LF)
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ May 14, 2012 -> 04:12 PM) I don't think he's been bad at all. Rios has been good out there, and De Aza has been a massive disappointment defensively. He should be in LF. He would be a plus defender out there, but then everyone else in the OF would have to be shifted again.
  16. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 14, 2012 -> 12:46 PM) This pitching matchup has regression to the mean written all over it. Danks is a far better pitcher than we've seen so far, and he made progress his last outing. His ERA is headed down, he'll continue to improve. Smyly pitched in only 23 minor league games in his career, and he's currently leading the league in ERA? Below 2? Not sustainable. He's got weaknesses, they will be found, soon. His ERA has to go up. And the Sox did better against him than anyone else has thus far. Let math be math tonight. Either that or this will be the ultimate jinx post tonight.

    QUOTE (fathom @ May 12, 2012 -> 08:59 PM) Semien on quite the tear these days. I know he's one of your favorite prospects. Great May for him. Also congrats to Walker on his first professional home run.
  18. Flowers. (Mothers Day)
  19. QUOTE (flavum @ May 11, 2012 -> 07:59 AM) Royals series matchups: Paulino- Floyd Hochevar- Stults Sale Duffy- Humber Sweep these guys. Get a winning streak going. Yea that looks much better. QUOTE (oldsox @ May 12, 2012 -> 08:25 AM) Scott Podsednik picked up by BoSox. LMFAO.
