  1. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 08:03 AM) I'm not sure if it's an agreed upon consensus that he is #1, but IMO the results speak for themselves. The pitching staff that won the 2006 WS alone puts him up there. In comparing Duncan to Cooper, I tend to see one big difference. Cooper has fixed a lot of pitchers who had the talent, just needed help figuring it out. Many of the pitchers Duncan helped have garbage arms, and somehow he teaches them how to not only survive, but sometimes also excel in the majors. Agreed, and I don't think there's a question both guys are two of the best in the game.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 07:45 AM) that time of the month again? I gotta admit, J4L is my boy, but Mike... you got him good there.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 07:58 AM) two first round picks for Stamkos? I am fine with that. We will be talking about the last pick in the first rounds' anyway. Hell I'm fine with 3 first. You don't find franchise talents like him very often. This isn't Phil Kessel.
  4. Well Oshie is staying in St. Louis so there's that for the dreamers. http://www.truehockey.com/articles/Oshie-a...ee-on-Extension Though Dubinsky is probably more realistic to offer sheet depending on Richards going there as rumors suggest.
  5. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 10:34 PM) This may have something to do with the Campoli negotiations. Perhaps he wants too much? Well that or teams have been giving up late round picks to get their guy before they hit FA. (Ehrhoff, Wiz, etc..) QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 12:00 AM) Take this with a gigantic, humungous grain of salt, but Ekland said: "Then I was told Chicago...who has been very quiet after freeing up money with the Campbell trade, was suddenly part of not only the Parise rumor, but possibly was putting an offer sheet together for Stamkos." Either of these would be absolutely insane. Toews as a second line center... wowza. Kane can do exactly what St. Louis is doing for Stamkos too as a playmaking RW. Hell, Parise would just be golden by himself, especially with the Hawks loaded with prospect depth. Ok let me not get ahead of myself.
  6. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 02:00 AM) Keenyn_Walker Keenyn Walker Ya buddy! Finally becoming a part of the Chicago White Sox family!! #Bossin 2 minutes ago Favorite Retweet Reply Great news.
  7. QUOTE (Cali @ Jun 28, 2011 -> 11:44 PM) Maybe The Rios situation will explode and they have no choice but to get rid of him Yea good luck with that. I think me and Dick Allen were the only two who wanted to move him in the off-season since his value was high after his season. Got some hate towards it (cuz of his defense mostly and WAR at the time) so I didn't argue as much as Dick did.
  8. And the mods wonder why this place has been a pure hyperbole, hating fest lately.. The sox play is bringing it out in alot of fans and I don't blame them. Something as horrid as Lillibridge's play there can really piss off a sox fan base. Thank god for 2005, cause I firmly believe about 50-60 posters at least would of been banned from this site.
  9. QUOTE (bulokis @ Jun 28, 2011 -> 11:18 PM) This team is so exciting to watch. I agree. I love watching the Rockies.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 28, 2011 -> 11:14 PM) Brothers was someone a lot of us wanted the Sox to draft a few years ago I was one of his biggest fans as a prospect. LOVED him.
  11. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 28, 2011 -> 11:03 PM) Ohman's been terrific since May. When used specifically as a LOOGY, he is a great asset. It's when Ozzie uses him like Thornton, s*** hits the fan. Yea he's been using him correctly. Though many of us thought he would be a decent LOOGY when signed but knew Ozzie's managing style.
  12. Ehrhoff (his rights actually) was traded to NYI for a 4th round pick. Not that this means NYI will sign him (though I don't see a problem since they have a ton of cap room, unless he and his agent feels they aren't a contender, or feels he can get more money in free agency) but it was funny seeing all those Canuck fans on different boards saying they were signing all their pending FA back with ease.
  13. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 28, 2011 -> 10:50 PM) I never have confidence about the Sox winning. I assume the worst will happen, and usually it does. I so wish I had the 2005, 2006 (first half) feeling back. I felt every game was ours no matter the match up or score in 6th inning or earlier. Ditto.
  14. I'm just glad I get to watch my two favorite teams going at it! Rockies I wish I could watch more of. Very exciting young players they have.
  15. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 28, 2011 -> 08:13 PM) The averages are similar but Reed had much better power, better plate discipline and better speed (stole 45 bases in 2003). And look where that landed him, lol. Baseball's a crazy sport. So did Chris Getz since college.
  16. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Jun 28, 2011 -> 07:24 PM) Kuhn getting the night off -- or promoted???? I would assume night off. And I would want Marrero to be promoted before him anyways. He's paid his dues.
  17. QUOTE (La Marr Hoyt HOF @ Jun 28, 2011 -> 12:05 PM) Time for them to revisit how the voting works. Tired of seeing 5 Yankee starters including stiffs like Martin and has-beens like Jeter every year. There is alot of things the MLB has to revisit. All star voting, gold gloves, etc.
  18. Cam Barker waived.. That Leddy trade looks more ridiculous for Minny by the day.
  19. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 28, 2011 -> 09:53 AM) He went straight to The Show, though. No opportunity for our minor league coaching staff to sabotage his career. So did Carlos Quentin. Though I find that ironic since Greg Walker is the hitting coach.
  20. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 28, 2011 -> 01:31 AM) I don't understand why people want to doubt Tyler Kuhn. I remember you saying the same thing about C.J. Retherford... and David Cook.
  21. Sorry Slav but.. Laich resigned with the Caps. 6 yrs. 4.5 mil.
  22. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jun 28, 2011 -> 08:52 AM) So JR Smith is a chucker but Jason Richardson is a good efficient score? Similar TS% for both but less shot attempts for JR... Well look at you comming out of the wood works. Nice checkmate post as well Willie.
  23. According to this article, Kopecky signed a 4 year deal with Florida. Tallon still has alot of work to do to get to the cap floor. http://translate.google.cz/translate?js=n&...cnej_zmluve.htm
