QUOTE (Knackattack @ Apr 21, 2011 -> 12:17 AM) You know the season is done when Fathom posts about optimism. I was about to say the same thing. I had to do a double take to see who actually posted this thread, especially an optimism thread. Fathom, your still the king of pessimism. Don't let my boy J4L take that from you.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Apr 19, 2011 -> 09:32 PM) Yeah. I can't remember a high upside hitter in the system like him. I like him better than Mitchell. Do we have to go as far back as Borchard for a talent like that? Maybe Sweeney I guess. Sweeney for sure. His power though never caught up with his good contact rate. I was never a fan of Borchard though. I loved Trayce since he was drafted (probably second to fathom who was his biggest fan) and I still think he's the best in the system as far as potential. (though I'm sure some would argue Viciedo) Hopefully he hits like his oozing tools suggest.

After reading through this, I apologize to nite for not getting the shoutout you deserve. (I guess it was the ol' Ben Gordon fascination that perplexed me when I forgot you are very good with talking basketball though you do have your flaws in some players' logic) You can have Rock's spot. Looks like I missed a good game btw cause of work. Glad we got the dubya.

Jim Gallagher still showing great patience at the plate. More of a late bloomer than a true prospect, but he is a nice surprise.

QUOTE (qwerty @ Apr 18, 2011 -> 02:33 AM) Kalapse could one up this thread without even trying. All kalapse would have to do is go into detail about a recent s*** of his that he just got done examining... and that puppy would end up at least double the length of this one. Kalapse could convince some of you that the sky is purple, and that the grass is red, with zero questions asked. I'm giving chw a pass since he has only been here about 3 years.

I would like to ask guys like Krush, Tony, Rock, Steve, Slavko, CC, maggsmaggs, Athomeboy, Jester, LittleHurt, DBAH0, chimpy, Murcie, 101, soxfan101 (sorry GoodAsGould, hate the name..), etc. who you would like to see the Hawks do/add in the off-season to help the team, which young guys should stick, etc.. (yes I know series isn't over yet, but I'm not optimistic on their chances comming back 0-3)

QUOTE (G&T @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 09:24 PM) Doesn't help when Kane is missing open nets. Yea he was really bad tonight. I don't see another Flyers-like comeback in this series. Hawks are done. I hope Bowman gets some grit (with skill) in the summer. I also would like to see Campoli (especially) and Frolik (possibly) back.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 09:30 PM) Yeah, but Rose has insane drive while John Wall dougies before games. ...And? Wall has improved alot since high school and his b-ball I.Q. is off the charts. This dude averaged 16-5-8 as a rookie. I would think you'd give him a summer to see if he can improve his weaknesses before he's pegged another player with no drive.

QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 09:11 PM) They turned on them within 3 minutes of the game. So would Philly fans if they saw the other team starting off 7-7 on FGs with no defense to speak of.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 09:01 PM) When you factor in age and mileage, it kinda is. Well, maybe next year or in two years we'll see some John Wall/Derrick Rose trade proposals. Wall is up and comming whereas Rose is older with much more mileage on his body.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 16, 2011 -> 10:02 PM) Some of you are very gullible or just ignorant of the opinions of one of the best posters on this board (Felix). Alright now that is just... awful wrong.

QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 07:38 PM) If someone paid me to talk on the radio about the Sox, I'd be a colossal homer too. I've seen it firsthand here too on this board. Yes he is a big optimist. Probably second to 2k5 here (or 3rd if you count Heads). There is nothing wrong with that though. Puts some of the pessimist here in line. Good balance.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 08:34 PM) Suck it Raffi Torres. That piece of s*** needs to be suspended again.

Yikes Melo. I don't know how the Knicks bounce back from that in this series. That was a disappointing loss. And does anyone else love OKC fans? Like a college environment in there. One of the best fan bases in the league.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 06:52 PM) Steve, you've become a homer to the extreme. I'm just fine with Rose. But don't act like comparing Rose and Paul is like comparing MJ to Reggie Miller. I'm just as stunned. Especially considering this is the healthiest I've seen Paul look in quite some time. But the Lakers game plan for him was horrible. It was like they thought he was gonna be on one leg tonight. I doubt we see them guard him one on one in the half court the next game. Speaking of Rose, as a Bulls fan, it pisses me off how much Bulls fans overrate him, just as much as it pisses me off how much non Bulls fans (or haters of Rose) underrate him. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 07:14 PM) Boston so far having their asses handed to them by the Knicks Yea Melo and Stat look like they are picking up another gear.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 05:24 PM) I'm surprised that somebody like you that is obsessed with advanced metrics would dismiss any argument that a healthy Paul is better than Rose. lol. It is just mind boggling how quickly people forget how incredible he was. He still is in fact. He had a pretty good year this season. And he also was playing with inferior talent around him. Now with West gone, it's almost become comical. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 05:26 PM) Go to the Bulls thread on realgm and say this and you're getting banned. lol. Rose is fabulous. But so is Paul. That's all I'm saying. There's only certain posters opinions there I respect anyways. I don't blame them though, I thought Paul's knee was shot. I still think Rose will be better though in all around play (I wanna see him with a competent SG and a full season of Boozer healthy) probably even by next season and you could argue he is already. He has to score this year though, as the Bulls offense is not good when he doesn't.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 05:05 PM) Let's just say if the Bulls somehow traded Rose for Paul I wouldn't be that upset. That's not a knock on Rose at all by the way. That offered right now, you take it and run. That offered 2-3 years from now, you say thanks but no thanks. And judging by this game, CP3's knee finally looks explosive again, but we'll see. If it's back to normal (and that's a big if) it's not even a debate who is the best. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 05:22 PM) I wonder if you watched the Bulls game yesterday. I doubt the Lakers give Paul that much room again. The Lakers had a couple of possessions where Gasol got crossed up and was defending Paul 1 on 1. It's not that hard to shake a 7 footer when you have the quickness that Paul has. And it seemed the Lakers were shocked that he had that explosiveness again. That was vintage Paul from 07-09. I didn't even think he was that quick anymore.

Chris Paul showing why he is still one of (if not the best) overall PG in the game. What a show he's putting on. Almost made me forget about his inferior talent he's got around him (especially without David West).

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 09:53 PM) this is good, but not as good as BobDylan's thread That will continue to be the greatest thread I've ever read on the pale hose area. I miss Mike.
