QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 20, 2011 -> 02:28 AM) Margarita is a tequila and lime drink, though several people like to ruin it with strawberry or watermelon or blue s***. Margherita is a term used to describe a combination of mozzarella, tomato, and basil (and sometimes feta), usually on pizza. You are seriously correcting someone over, what I consider, a p**** drink? God damn your ass is going on my ignore feature.
  2. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 19, 2011 -> 06:11 PM) Brian never posts in PHT. That's pretty much why he goes unnoticed. Kyle and Greasywheels are in the same boat. All three are some of the best posters around. Oh I notice kyyle and my boy greasy though. Greasy is definitely one of the best and most underrated.
  3. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 19, 2011 -> 02:49 PM) I hope he likes Switzerland Great news, deal is worth $8 million total. Solid young goalie for a good price, can't complain. 2.67 mil cap hit. Alittle higher than I'm sure most thought, but definitely nice to have a steady goaltender in the pipes.

Just a great start so far for fathom's boy Ross Wilson.
  5. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 19, 2011 -> 09:04 AM) Bieksa with the Gordie Howe hat trick last night. Marleau never really stood a chance, and it's looking like neither do the Sharks. It seems that the Hawks were probably the best team to knock out Vancouver ironically enough. Gonna make me sick to my stomach to see that jag of an organization hoist the cup. I still think Boston is the only team that can beat them as far as whose left right now.
  6. I'll say this about Haslem. I didn't see the game (work) so I really can't go after the discussion, but looking at the stats, the Bulls had 0 offensive rebounds when he was on the court. That has got to change.
  7. I can see two different types of "ignore" posters. One who just rambles (as TRU alluded to) but at times has a fair point or one who just post their say, but really offers nothing more to the board (won't bring your I.Q. down or this board's quality down in any convo.. sports, politics, etc., but won't bring it up either) and is just your "average guy" no more, no less. The only thing I'll say is, IMO, Brian has got to be the quietest 20K poster on this site. It seems he is never noticed even with all those post and being a regular, at least to me observing. (hell I still see YASNY noticed, and he posts like once every 3-4 weeks now-a-days) He's not ignored in a bad way, but ignored as in he really doesn't stand out on his style of posting as the others here, even with solid points. Well you don't have to worry anymore Brian... I just noticed you.
  8. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 18, 2011 -> 03:36 PM) JM: With Jordan Danks, the two biggest knocks have been that he doesn't hit for enough power as his frame suggested and that he struck out too much. In the past three weeks, his power exploded and he hasn't struck out that much. Is the improved power and contact here to stay or is he on a hot streak and you're expecting some sort of regression? BB: Jordan Danks looks better than I've ever seen him. He looks great. I was just in Charlotte. He looks better than anytime I've ever seen him. He was one of the crown jewels in the system. And for whatever reason, and I've got my opinions on it, he got way too much coaching in the winter and he just kept changing his approach and his set up and he didn't look like he had a feel for his own particular swing. About a month or three weeks ago, he basically went "The hell with all this stuff" and just went after it and that's the kind of player he is. He's just very instinctive and he looks really good. When kids go through this kind of bad period, it affects their whole life almost. Their dream is to reach the big leagues and they can feel it just kind of slipping away and you could see the change in him. Now he just seems more getting after it. So many of our kids, when they get started they get coaching when they're seven or eight years old and a lot of these kids don't do anything unless the coach tells them to do this or do that. Our biggest issue sometimes is to get them to play a little crazy to get them away from the analytical process that goes on in their head. With Jordan, he's pretty much simplified (it). It's not coaching, it's not anything, it's just you've gotta get after it now. Forget about all this other crap you've been doing, just get after it. JS: I had the chance to talk with Tyler Flowers last year just after his May slump ended and it seems like he was maybe the product of getting too much coaching where he told me he was trying to pull it where his swing was a lot more conducive to driving the ball to the gaps. Did you see any change in him this year in just trying to get back to what he's best at? BB: He's trying to get there. He hasn't made the progress that Danks has, but he's getting there. His set up is more balanced, he's starting to buy into what we've talked about the last couple years. He's very similar to a lot of our kids. I think they get proper coaching, I just think they get too much of it. And the terminology is different so it kind of conflicts with what you're hearing. I saw him last night and he swung the bat decent last night, and we've got high hopes for him as well. I figured as much.

Rienzo with the sexy K/9 numbers but he is walking alot of hitters (over 4 BB/9) as well. Reminds me alot of Neal Cotts (as far as those numbers) when he was in Birmingham.
  10. I'll wait till he does this for a few more starts for me to give him the "JFP" treatment, but this is a very good start.
  11. I will be there Sunday with my co-workers. If I see a group of uz there, perhaps I will grace you with my presence.. but perhaps not.
  12. On another note, Brian McCann did something that hasn't been done in 62 years.
  13. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 17, 2011 -> 09:32 PM) Dirk is good. By far the best 7 foot shooter in NBA history. Just ungodly how pretty his shot is and so accurate.
  14. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 17, 2011 -> 09:17 AM) He's never going to have Barry Bonds' plate discipline. Don't tell Balta that..
  15. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ May 16, 2011 -> 05:39 PM) Morel needs more AB in the majors. He doesn't have holes in his swing, he just looks overmatched. He needs reps against good pitching. Also, nothing Omar Vizquel can do is going to turn this team around. He's a very useful piece, but it's in this team;s best interest to let Morel figure it out at the major league level. Agreed completely, and this is where I have a problem with Ozzie and rookie hitters. He's got a plus UZR right now (though still early) so he's not killing you in the field. It is just disappointing the sox have started off this way. If we were in better shape, I think Ozzie still gives Morel consistent at bats, especially with his defense on the field but since we are under .500, he has to play who is actually hitting. (though Morel is batting .388 in his last 5 games) I haven't caught alot of sox games this year since I work the night shift, so maybe I don't understand the whole issue.

QUOTE (DirtySox @ May 16, 2011 -> 09:12 PM) Saladino 1-3, HR. His 2nd of the season. I still would like to see more opinions on his defense. KG has called him a true SS, but he's the only one who seems confident in that regard. Think Gordon Beckham except more range and better hands. (though IMO Beckham has the better arm when he was the SS for Georgia) Jeff (Ozzie Ball) probably has a better scouting report than I do though.
  17. She look like she was enjoying that.
  18. QUOTE (3E8 @ May 15, 2011 -> 07:40 PM) Southsider2k5 does not think so. But obviously he passed last years tests since we did not hear anything. So unless he is on HGH, which would devastate me, he is human. Well since they do test now, he isn't unless there's something he's taking that isn't showing up yet. And BTW, I believe he's clean too and agree with wite about his mechanical adjustment.
  19. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 15, 2011 -> 10:30 PM) I don't think that's that bold of a statement. Really, there is no bench that is good enough to go toe to toe with the Bulls'. What's better is how well the Bulls bench has played against Miami both in the regular season and tonight. Correct, though I will say the Thunder bench is very underrated.
  20. Infante with a decent outing in his AAA debut. NSS's boy Remenowsky just has amazing peripherals in AA.
