  1. QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 20, 2011 -> 08:37 PM) So, um, eh, hmmmm, any guys on here ever get a pedicure? After years of basketball abuse, I think I could use one. Not gonna lie, kind of embarassed cuz I stereotype it as something women do. TRU would probably be the right guy to ask about that sort of thing.
  2. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Feb 19, 2011 -> 10:14 AM) Finally got around to watching The Rock's promo....I turned back into a 13 year old marking out so hard. The line about going from Austin 3:16 to Do You Smell... to Cena's "You Can't See Me" was awesome & spot on. He is simply outstanding on the mic. Noone can compare. Just entertaining (him also letting the "Ass" "Damn" etc.. out was awesome) not to mention taking shots at Cena (looking like a big fat bowl of fruity pebbles though I'm sure those 10-12 year old kids out there were pissed) didn't hurt either. I'm tired of the PG era. Bring back the Attitude era (and Austin, Dudley/Hardy Boys, Mankind, RVD, Angle, D Generation X, etc.. ya.. the has-beens ).
  3. QUOTE (PeavyTime @ Feb 20, 2011 -> 10:55 PM) Come on. If it wasn't for Wade and LeBron acting like idiots and turning the ball over like mad, the East would have never gotten down by so much. For as good as Lebron played in the 2nd half, he played equally as bad in the first half. Well that and the fact that he went nuts in the 4th almost single handily putting the East back in it. Oh and being only the second player ever to have a triple double doesn't hurt his case either. Maybe robbed was a strong word, but other than the fan/home court and the West winning (though others in the past have won when their team has lost), he should have gotten it. I'm not getting worked up about an all-star game though and won't even debate about it longer because its an exhibition game.
  4. Though I hate him, LeBron was robbed of the All-Star game MVP award.
  5. Thank god Kopecky is off the top 6. Now sub him out for Frolik on the 2nd PP unit and your in buisness. Huge 2 points.
  6. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Feb 20, 2011 -> 03:01 PM) I'm not sure he'd be all that good. His problem would be that he can't palm the ball. Well that and he wouldn't have that much creativity in the air. Ibaka's free throw line dunk was one of the best dunks I've seen in a long time. McGee was also impressive. I would of love to see Blake jump over the entire car from the top instead of the hood of it. He probably could of done it.
  7. Just 32 years old. Sad to see a career cut that short. Thanks for the memories Joe. And I would be happy to not hear elrockinMT keep saying bring back Joe anymore, but I'm sure he'll just say convince Joe to un-retire and play 3B for us.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 19, 2011 -> 10:50 AM) Prior was the same way before he became a punch line. Sale has some great stuff but he isn't in that neighborhood. I think many people forgot how good Prior's stuff was before Dusty destroyed his arm. Before Stras, he was the best college pitcher I've ever seen and followed in the minors.
  9. QUOTE (kev211 @ Feb 7, 2011 -> 01:22 AM) Using your own Ipod can easily solve that issue? And what if you forget your iPod at home for example? I don't think anyone would want to waste gas going all the way back to their house (unless you live like a block or two away from the gym) just to get their iPod, especially cause of s***ty gym music.
  10. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Feb 6, 2011 -> 09:21 PM) that team is gonna dominate the NFC north for the next few years IMO. their depth is ridiculous, imagine them healthy? won't even be close QUOTE (zenryan @ Feb 6, 2011 -> 09:35 PM) I agree. Going to be hard to stop them in the near future. And to add, they are the second youngest team in the league! They could very well have a dynasty if all goes well for them. I wonder what Brett Favre thinks about all of this. Sucks that I lost $50 bucks on this game too. Oh well.
  11. Man got all this food comming up and drinks. Hopefully I won't be out $50 for the night. Come on Steelers!

    i am drunk

Got hammered last night. (and I mean hammered) A fat chick took me home.. So ashamed.
  13. Someone who makes a brilliant post, then someone replies with "Agreed" or "What he/she said" or the ever popular "^^^^^^^^^." Balta's call about the fantasy team is a good one too.
  14. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Jan 17, 2011 -> 08:00 PM) How about the Angels? I saw an article somewhere and posted about it in the off-season catch all thread. They missed out on their targets this year, maybe once the cost of Crawford and others got too much for them they decided to hold off and throw the bank at Pujols next year. I would think every team in the MLB would be after or inquring about this guy (or at least make an offer, trade a guy to make room for him, etc..). It's Albert Pujols for gods sakes.
  15. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 4, 2011 -> 05:41 PM) Not with their rotation. Their offense should be nice. But after Matusz, their SP is fugly. I'll look for my boy Arrieta to take that next step and surprise you, but I'll agree other than that , it ain't that pretty. (though Tillman is a wildcard)
  16. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 3, 2011 -> 07:47 PM) Monta Ellis should be there as well. He had a much better case last year when he was putting up 26-4-5 and freaking Jason Kidd and his 9-9 made it over him (though part of that was the game being played in Dallas, reputation, and Ellis getting hurt just before the break, though still should have been picked before he got hurt). And this is comming from someone who hates Ellis' game. (and his consistant chuckling and "trying to get his" but that's another discussion)
  17. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 3, 2011 -> 12:20 PM) GOALIE FIGHT!!!!!! And broke his face. Dude is gonna miss 4-6 weeks with facial fractures from that one punch.
  18. Good lord Kevin Durant.. I also have to wonder who will end their losing streak first. Cleveland's consecutive streak or Washington's road streak.. Or do we have to wait till both play.. in Cleveland.
  19. QUOTE (danman31 @ Feb 2, 2011 -> 07:17 PM) That Escobar report doesn't make it sound like he can hit. His perfect world projection is the absolute best he will be. And this is funny comming from you Dan, who btw, is the biggest Escobar fan on this site as a prospect. (though you wouldn't know that with him lately)
  20. QUOTE (bighurt4life @ Jan 30, 2011 -> 07:19 PM) If you look at Escobar's numbers through his career he is giving us some reason be believe that his hit tool is coming around. Early on a good fastball would knock the bat out of his hands, as he's gotten older his numbers have gotten better and better, and he has started to hit the ball with some authority hitting 6HR last season after having just one his first 3 pro seasons combined. He also just turned 22 so he played half a season at AA at age 21. His bat isn't as bad as some people make it sound. He is taken the Brandon Allen route of developing. (which is very common with some prospects as well) Getting better every year and maturing overall in his game.
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 30, 2011 -> 01:00 PM) Pacers have fired head coach Jim O'Brien Excellent decision for that franchise. He's terrible. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jan 30, 2011 -> 05:16 PM) Ray Allen says hi Funny thing is just 3-4 years ago, he was known as a choker (well.. in the playoffs).

    Soxtalk Awards

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jan 29, 2011 -> 04:07 AM) So.....you are saying these awards are like Gold Glove awards? Exactly. It's as much of a joke as the GG. (though like the GG, you are bound to get 1 or 2 winners correct)
  23. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jan 29, 2011 -> 05:21 PM) I think Richardson is an upgrade over Carter, at least on the break he is, albeit his numbers since the trade haven't been fantastic. He is definitely faster than Carter though, and doesn't need the ball in hands consistently like Carter did. I agree about Lewis though, right now the Arenas for Lewis trade hasn't been a big win for either team. Arenas is dealing with arthritis in his knee, and hasn't been anything more than a league average backup PG at this point. Hedo's the wildcard though, his play off the pick and roll causes fits defensively for teams like Boston, and last night was probably his worst game in a Magic uniform since the trade (2 for 12). The main thing about Lewis though was that he would force Boozer to play on the perimeter defensively if he played at the 4. Maybe Anderson needs to get into the starting lineup for Bass. Right now Orlando are only going to win if they improve a bit more defensively (which is a work in progress, but with Howard clogging and the middle and SVG coaching this I am confident in), and the perimeter guys hitting their shots. Last night we definitely didn't do the latter. Howard's no longer a concern because he's raised his game offensively this season. J-Rich is a better player at this point yes, but Carter was more of a match-up problem for the Bulls (J-Rich is much more athletic and quicker in transition in the open court without the ball, Carter has a much better first step and ball handling with the ball). Not saying it's like this for other teams, since this new version Magic has beaten very good teams already, but the Bulls had a tougher match-up against the old Magic team because of Lewis/Carter spacing the perimeter and like you said, had guys like Boozer/Gibson guarding the outside with a guy like Lewis as a threat from the outside, which in turn, made Howard that much more beastly in the paint.
  24. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 29, 2011 -> 10:04 AM) I really have nothing against the Magic, it just really confuses me why this version of Orlando is considered so much better than this version of the Bulls by nearly every analyst around. Obviously it's not a big deal but it makes me that much happier when we defeat them. I was interested to see if this version as better than the one who beat the Bulls by 30 earlier, and I was correct it wasn't. The other team with Lewis and Carter simply gave the Bulls fits with their perimiter shooting, tough match-up in length, and overall quickness than guys like J-Rich and Arenas.. Doesn't mean they are better players, it was simply just the match-up. I never wanted to play the Magic before just because of those those two and what a nightmare they are playing against us and of course you got that Howard guy thrown in.
  25. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 23, 2011 -> 10:14 PM) He was not limping in his final series. Yes, he may have been hurt. Was he incapable of playing? I gotta question it. I know Jay is tough, and so I really don't like questioning him, but at the same time, he has been known to mope quite a bit. I just wonder if the injury would have been treated differently had we been tied or winning the game, or had the score been closer. Exactly. Though Cutler is one of the toughest s.o.b's I've seen out there, him with one leg (or a torn MCL) would of been much better than freaking Todd Collins. (and I was screaming for them to put in Hanie before Todd) I guess there is just different types of toughness. Phillip Rivers played with a freaking torn ACL in the playoffs. Didn't even say s*** about it till reports said he needed surgery on it. I personally think Cutler hinted it was the training staff's call though. What I don't understand is why they didn't try and put a brace or something on his leg at the half.
