QUOTE (DirtySox @ Oct 14, 2010 -> 01:30 PM) The "seriously" should not be in this thread title. Votto is going nowhere. FYI. They "tested the waters" with him last year in the off-season. That of course was before he went completely nuts this year.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Oct 12, 2010 -> 10:18 PMB) Dengs 3pt shot is good. He will average 20pts a game if he keeps knocking it down. I love how Thibs is using Deng, LOVE IT. If he is hitting threes at this effiency, I might have to change my tune a bit on the Bulls needing another shooter to help Rose.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 12, 2010 -> 11:37 PM) FIP of 3.78, xFIP of 4.18...yeah Gio Gonzalez is legit. His ERA will probably go up next year because he was pretty lucky on flyballs this year, but he's a very solid starter. Ha.. good to see you finally came around on Gio.

QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Oct 12, 2010 -> 10:19 PM) Cliff Lee's a stud. That guy is money in the playoffs! He is approaching legendary status (if he isn't there already) as far as a post season performer. I also find it interesting that Texas celebrates with gingerale instead of champane in their clinching games cuz of Hamilton's alcohol problems in the past. Pure class by Texas FO.

QUOTE (shipps @ Oct 10, 2010 -> 10:30 AM) Thank you guys. I had some time to spare at dinner last night to let my Soxtalk peeps know I got married figured I would just check in with you guys. We had a early afternoon wedding. Funniest moment of the day: one Jason Gage shows up and is wearing the exact attire my grooms men were wearing....only he was not one of the grooms men. How he wound up wearing a button up pistachio green shirt and same khakis pants and sandals that matched them to a T. LMAO. Wouldn't be a Gage moment without something like that. Congrats Jeff. Good luck with everything bro.

NBA Predictions - (Predictabulls Part II)
SoxAce replied to knightni's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Miami will win 66 games (could win more but the injury prone Wade has injury issues for the season) and will cruise to the championship but lose to the Lakers in 7. (Kobe continues to repair his image immenely) If Riley takes over though, Heat will win the title in 7. Bulls win 51 games, trade for a shooter around the deadline (say.. Rudy) and lose to the Heat in 5 games in the ECF. -
QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Oct 10, 2010 -> 09:51 PM) gz 49ers always when you think they have a shot. cough up the football. That team is much more talented than their record shows. Singeltary will probably be on the hot seat very soon.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Oct 10, 2010 -> 07:02 PM) Brooks Conrad lost that game for the Braves. He is having one of the worst postseasons by an individual player ever. Braves still had a chance to win the game when Huff hit that clutch single. Conrad just put the nail in the coffin with his 3rd error which was costly in the Posey AB. He is pulling a Dan Uggla right now.
-
Braves bullpen blows the game. (and Brooks Conrad) Best part though was seeing the freak jumping up and down goin ''f*** ya!!'' and TBS catching it by accident.

So far littlehurt and nitetrain are looking like genius in this thread. Reds showing their youth in that game.

QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 8, 2010 -> 10:20 PM) Granderson would be a nice pickup; but, we have no Austin Jackson to trade. I would think the Yanks would be looking for pitching more-so than a position player. They aren't in the same boat as the Tigers were who had to shed payroll and trade players in their prime (or established vets) to get cheap, younger guys.
-
I remember reading an article if the Yankees do go after Crawford, either Granderson or Swisher will be dealt. More than likely Granderson since the Yanks value OBP. (Gardner to CF)

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 7, 2010 -> 09:41 PM) John Scott is big and all, but he's dreadfully slow. Stalberg however is a legit burner. I thought Stalberg shoulda played more last night. Hit the post on a shot, made a sweet pass to Dowell who didn't shoot. I think he's too talented to be a 4th liner.

Happy B-Day fellas. :cheers

QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Oct 6, 2010 -> 10:12 PM) Wonder what it would take to un-tether Nick Markakis from the Orioles. He's a terrific all-around player, a young left-handed batter who also happens to play a nifty right field. Floyd is from the Baltimore area. I wonder if some sort of package featuring him and [you fill in the blank] could bring Markakis to the South Side. Andy Macphail has always overrated his players. (typical for a guy who came out of the Cubs org) I'll still never forget that fiasco with Brian Roberts and George Sherill. But if there's ever a time to get Markakis at his lowest value for a team, it's now. With that said, I doubt they move him.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 6, 2010 -> 10:12 PM) The yanks are the anti-sox facing the twins. Crain comes in, and instead of sitting 3 down in a row he gets knocked out of the game on a freaking moon shot. The Twins are pretty much the sox in that way. Their players were praising the Yankees players and their organization before the series started, and when they take a lead, it's like they stop and say "Oh s***, this is the Yankees, how are we winning" and pretty much blow chunks afterwards. This series ain't over yet, but once again in this game, the Twins are proving they are the Yankees' b****.

Roy Halladay throws a no-hitter versus Cincy in Game 1 of the NLDS

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 6, 2010 -> 07:58 PM) This is still the 2nd one in postseason history. It's a big deal. Preach. I was stunned. That poster that said the Phils are sweepin so far looks like a genius if Oswalt and Hamels can give at least 1/4th of that performance comming up in this series. -
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Oct 6, 2010 -> 12:46 AM) I heart Tuesdawvv cuz im f***ed up . Your face is f***ed up.

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Oct 5, 2010 -> 11:12 PM) Cheap, maybe. Stupid, no. They have been the most successful franchise the past decade. They know what they are doing. No kidding. Hell they pawned Moss off for a 4th rounder a few years back in the first place. Wouldn't surprise me if they could net a 3rd-4th rounder for him. Their personnel is one of the smartest in the game.
-
I like the report from Hamilton on what could have been in Tampa. He, Baldelli and Crawford was suppose to be the young, sick outfield of the future for that franchise.
-
This is why I think the Bulls could use another shooter. Korver is a stud (and even JJ surprised when he was playing smart) but Watson is below average, Bogans isn't really a shooter and Brewer, when he comes back, is bad from out there. Deng did surprise me. If he can hit around a 37% clip or so from downtown, the Bulls will be in better shape in the half court when Booz gets back as a low post/pick and pop and Brewer off screens and in transition in the open court with his athleticism, so Rose can operate.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 5, 2010 -> 04:02 PM) Yikes. When the hell did this happen? I think 3 years ago. It was a big rumor for a while (I think it came out of Alba's mouth herself). *I'll leave that for the "pun" posters* Google it.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 5, 2010 -> 03:36 PM) And has there even been a wiff of off the field controversy with him? If there has been I don't remember. Breaking up with Mariah Carey? Other than giving Jessica Alba herpes, no.

QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 5, 2010 -> 10:32 AM) He's known as one of the best negotiators in all of baseball. He handles a lot of the contract work, as KW stays out of it. Saber guy as well.

My god bro.. I never pictured you as fat. Always thought you were Alex-type anorexic.
