  1. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Oct 4, 2010 -> 03:35 PM) Asiata was undrafted and every team makes bad picks but it is absolutely mindboggling how much Angelo has ignored the OL. That's the thing. I don't think anyone here would have problems with those picks if he addressed the O-Line before-hand (draft, FA, trades, whatever) but he didn't. The time he made some of those picks, thats when the O-Line was really struggling, then he continued to ignore it, until the O-Line got stupid bad. I liked the Williams pick, still like him. Omiyale I was never a fan of (there is a reason he was "inactive" twice all 16 games with the Falcons and the Panthers) and Garza is average. Even Olin Kreutz at this stage in his career looks pretty bad.
  2. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 4, 2010 -> 02:47 PM) Just when you thought ESPN couldn't get any more ridiculous... You have got to be kidding me.
  3. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 4, 2010 -> 01:48 PM) Morin sent down to Rockford today. I wonder if Campbell's injury and the need for blue line depth played a part in the decision. I don't think so since he was a forward. I think 19 year old Nick Leddy has all but made the team in defense, while Soupy is gone. I think they want to see what they have in Stalberg/Skille and then go from there.
  4. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Oct 4, 2010 -> 02:20 PM) And then the we have Edwin Williams an undrafted free agent and Webb a 7th round pick. I would be shocked if those guys ever become starting caliber OL. Wasn't Asiata undrafted as well? Yikes.. Louis as a 7th rounder. Meanwhile we have made glorious picks in Bazuin, Okpo, Gilbert (though I still like him in a 3-4 defense) Melton (still has time), Wolfe, Dvoracek, Harriott, Currie, Joe, Iglesias, etc.. etc..
  5. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 4, 2010 -> 01:35 AM) I know you ain't talkin'. I knew someone would respond. I will change it if/when Reed is released/traded. If he is still with the Knights next year, I will keep the name.
  6. QUOTE (IceCreamPants @ Oct 3, 2010 -> 10:22 PM) Okay. I am ready to go back to shipps. So if one of the admins/mods could do that it would be just grand. I can't because I am posting from my phone. Thank god.
  7. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 3, 2010 -> 05:13 PM) Completely wrong with absolutely everything Yikes, by far the worst predictions I've ever made. Even the Juan Pierre thing was wrong, I still hate him as much as I did when we acquired him. I'll do better next year I promise. Either that, or I'll stick to prospect predictions/evaluations.
  8. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Mar 26, 2010 -> 12:21 PM) 89. Even though our offense sucks, our pitching is too good. (not to mention we are in a s***ty division) So I guess I'm in the 87-91 mark. I was one off.
  9. Since the Rockies didn't make it, I don't really care either. But if you had to put a gun to my head, I'd pick the Giants cause of the drought and the Braves cause I wanna see Bobby Cox go out in style. What a terrific managerial career he's had.
  10. QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Oct 3, 2010 -> 10:45 PM) What an ugly game. This is the Bears I was expecting all season tho. If Cutler comes out 2nd half they still had a shot to win it tho. Thats the only thing optimistic about the game. As bad as the Bears were, their defense kept them in it for the majority of the game.
  11. They should had used Hanie much earlier than they did. I was hollering for it even before the Collins pick. Giants front is too athletic and with a weak O-Line, you need an athletic QB back there.
  12. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 3, 2010 -> 04:37 PM) I am not disappointed in how the Sox performed, because I don't think anybody here could have expected 88 wins from this team in March, but it would have been nice to beat the Twins 2-3 more times. Which reminds me.. someone should bump that wins prediction thread. I think some people actually got the 88 win total right.
  13. I personally think he's gone, and I will say thanks for everything Paulie. :cheers
  14. I hope the Padres win today. So far they are losing, but I would love to see a three way tie between Atlanta, SF and SD and those teams battling it out.
  15. And this is why the Bulls didn't wanna give up Taj Gibson. Bulls will be fine at the beginning.
  16. Possibly his last game in a sox uni... Konerko.
  17. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Oct 2, 2010 -> 10:50 PM) Flowers is batting .000. I wouldn't start trying to compare him with AJ just yet. And yet has a .308 OBP to A.J.'s .301 OBP. I wasn't really comparing them (Flowers will never have A.J.'s average, but he will probably have the better OBP even if he hits .200 and OPS though won't nearly have the contact rate as A.J.) but it's good to see a young guy that patient. (I've watched the games he's played. These aren't 3-0, 3-1 counts either with easy misses for walks, he's earning them)
  18. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Oct 2, 2010 -> 08:23 PM) Viciedo 2/3 double and HR now batting .310. Morel 1/3 double, DeAza 1/3 rbi double, Lillibridge 1/2 2 rbi single, Flowers 0/1, 2 walks, 2 runs scored , still batting .000. Pierre, Vizuel, Konerko and Teahan combined 0/11. Sox win rain shortened game 6-2. I don't know what is sadder. That Viciedo is making Ozzie look stupid again, or Flowers already having 4 walks in 10 ABs to A.J.'s 15 walks in 472 at-bats.
  19. Only reason I'm starting a Game Thread is cause Oz is playing the kids again, and I will watch the game again. Though it looks like there's a chance we won't get this one in tonight. Pierre LF Vizquel SS Konerko DH Viciedo 1B Teahen RF Flowers C Morel 3B De Aza CF Lillibridge 2B Buehrle LHP
  20. Well... so far not a good start to the season. Brian Campbell is out 4-5 weeks with a sprained knee.
  21. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 1, 2010 -> 02:52 PM) Really? Cuz their outfield of Gardner-Granderson-Swisher is already pretty good. I don't think the Yankees would hesitate moving the 4.0 WAR Granderson this winter for the 7.0 WAR Crawford. Gardner has a been a + defender at CF in the past as well (he's much better in LF, but Crawford is so good there you can move Brent at CF and still be as good, maybe even better defensively) not to mention they get the better OBP player in Crawford the last two years. It's the Yankee way.
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 1, 2010 -> 06:31 PM) Does Tyler Flowers ever swing the bat? He's going to shatter Pods strike out looking record if he ever plays half a season. He will strikeout alot, but one thing he does do that is much superior than A.J. is he will take a walk. No doubt he will have the higher OBP next season even if he's hitting .200.
  23. Flowers, De Aza, Morel, Viciedo all playing. I will be watching this game. First game in 2 1/2 weeks.
