  1. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 31, 2010 -> 12:20 AM) Oh, I didn't know you had to be 2003 Barry Bonds to show considerable improvement as the year has gone on. Stubbs in April: .186/.301/.271 Stubbs in May: .271/.333/.510 Honestly man.. it isn't even worth it. I stopped long ago.
  2. I'm a Nix fan too when he was a prospect especially (hyped up his arm when he came here) but TBolt is his biggest fan.
  3. Jimmy Ballinger allowed his first EARNED runs of the season now putting his era at a horrible 0.74 Jordan Danks went 5-7, 2B, 3 RBI, BB, K in his last couple games.
  4. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 29, 2010 -> 07:44 PM) Poor bastard. Best post in this thread.
  5. Incredible game. Great night all around downtown for myself from the drinking, the Hawks win, and the party all night long afterwards netting numbers I don't even remember on my phone.
  6. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 30, 2010 -> 11:12 AM) I hope the Lakers absolutely destroy them. This. My hate for Rondo trumps anything I could ever hate for the Lakers not to mention I can't stand Boston teams or their fans. Plus, I still like that Phil Jackson guy.
  7. QUOTE (The Gooch @ May 29, 2010 -> 02:35 PM) The lineup has been up for over an hour now and no one has complained about Kotsay being in the lineup yet. Must be the nice weather I'll complain about Alexei getting dropped out of the 2 spot where he's been good last year and so far this year in limited at-bats for A.J. Just brutal.
  8. I'll be downtown bar hoppin tonight watching the game!
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 29, 2010 -> 10:42 AM) Yeah, he appears to be quite wild, gotta love that K rate though. Second only to Daniel Hudson in K/9 in the IL.
  10. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ May 29, 2010 -> 09:00 AM) Buster Posey has been called up by the Giants. Bout time. He and Santana really should have been up a month ago. Indians are still on the politics stage with the arbitration rule, not to mention they suck anyways.
  11. QUOTE (kev211 @ May 29, 2010 -> 02:38 AM) Am I the only one upset over the Jordan statue having hawks gear all over it? I mean I'm not a big hockey fan considering this is my first post in this thread, but that statue is basically sacred in my mind. Obviously I am probably going to get ripped on for posting it in this thread, but I still feel that way. No your not the only one, and it is actually getting mixed reviews by people not only in Chicago, but around the world (hell even people in Canada are mixed on it) and I'm not even just talking about basketball fans. Me three years ago, probably hates it as much as you do. It doesn't bother me as much now, even though I'm more of a basketball guy. I was actually gonna hold off my thoughts on it till your post.
  12. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ May 29, 2010 -> 12:13 AM) I really think Wade doesn't want to come to Chicago and he wants to stay in Miami but realizes that Chicago is an extremely attractive destination for any of the top FAs so he's trying to make them look bad. Pretty much. He actually made alot of enemies in his own hometown with those statements. Only thing he might do to make it right is become a Bull himself which many don't see happening now. Wade tipped his hand, so as far as I'm (and I'm sure alot of people) he still will be a Heat player recruiting people. Plus I never took New York seriously as a place for him, no matter how much he and the Knicks brass. (and Wade himself) tries to "sell" it. (I'll believe it when he signs on their dotted line)
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 28, 2010 -> 10:51 PM) Yet how many people were selling him down the river? Reminds me of Peavy this year actually.
  14. He teased us just a few days ago when he went 2-4 against Cleveland then went 0-7 2 K's the next couple of games. Like the above posters said, give him a few games (maybe when his average is up 30+ points, or a 7-10+ game hitting streak) then I'll be sold. I don't jump on Beckham like alot of posters do here since he gives the sox a very good BB rate on this team.
  15. QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 28, 2010 -> 09:30 PM) Not really what I was getting at. Rather than brilliant strategy it turns out that he was forced into those moves and I was unaware of this fact when I so richly praised him during and after the game. If Jenks had been available he likely would have pitched the 9th which would have been a tremendous disappointment. Ditto. I will as well.
  16. Joey Cora FTW!
  17. QUOTE (beckham15 @ May 28, 2010 -> 07:49 PM) HAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHA our closer was in the game....if randy williams could actually pitch decent or the team have another lefty that can get hitters out then there is no reason thornton isnt your closer.... Said it numerous times.. that was my biggest beef with KW the whole off-season. Not finding that solid lefty to pair with Thornton in the pen.
  18. Thornton... stud. Big win for the sox as I keep saying getting swept or losing 3/4 won't be good for our chances. We got one... now let's get at least one more game against the best team in baseball.
  19. Even with a runner on base... there is just a calm feeling I get with Thornton ya know.
  20. QUOTE (SoxPride56 @ May 28, 2010 -> 08:38 PM) I also like Alexei hitting 2nd. Don't know why to be honest, but I have always thought that is where he can do the best. Ya he was good last year at that spot. .281/.343/.422/.765
  21. Juan with 2 BBs in this game. He's trying to equal his BB/SO rate once again. BTW.. I love Alexei in the 2 hole. He is more patient oddly enough up there.
